UGC 7388: a galaxy with two tidal loops
We present the results of spectroscopic and morphological studies of the
galaxy UGC7388 with the 8.1-m Gemini North telescope. Judging by its observed
characteristics, UGC7388 is a giant late-type spiral galaxy seen almost
edge-on. The main body of the galaxy is surrounded by two faint (\mu(B) ~ 24
and \mu(B) ~ 25.5) extended (~20-30 kpc) loop-like structures. A large-scale
rotation of the brighter loop about the main galaxy has been detected. We
discuss the assumption that the tidal disruption of a relatively massive
companion is observed in the case of UGC7388. A detailed study and modeling of
the observed structure of this unique galaxy can give important information
about the influence of the absorption of massive companions on the galactic
disks and about the structure of the dark halo around UGC7388.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figure
Dividend Policy of Russian Companies with State Participation as a Mechanism of Relations with the Owners
The formation and implementation of the dividend policy of Russian companies with state participation differ from the policies pursued by the public and non-public joint-stock companies owned by private investors. The state, being a special shareholder, affects the dividend policy from the position of the owner and the regulator, who has the ability to set certain restrictions and rules for companies that are not in the power of other categories of shareholders. Systemic risks and the uncertainty of the development of the Russian economy objectively require an in-depth study of the regulation of dividend policy in public companies with state participation. It is generally accepted that with a decrease in the number of dividends paid to owners of ordinary shares, the weighted average cost of capital becomes lower, while at the same time the financial performance of a business and the amount of retained earnings become higher. Therefore, the company's dividend policy is an important element of financial management and relations with the owners. The question of the importance of dividend policy for public companies with state participation is the most controversial and little studied today. The price of shares, the structure of equity capital, and the need to attract borrowed capital are directly dependent on the size of dividends. However, the payment of dividends reduces the amount of profit that can be reinvested in the development of the company, so the impact of dividend policy on the financial condition of the company is ambiguous. In this regard, it seems relevant to improve the dividend policy of public companies with state participation through solving the problems existing in them
Species composition and ecology of blood-sucking mosquitoes (Diptera, Culicidae) in Yakutia
The purpose of the research is to study the species composition and ecology of mosquitoes in Yakutia.Materials and methods. The research was performed for herd horses and cattle on pastures in Central, Western and Southern Yakutia in 2005–2021. Faunistic collections were made and the number of blood-sucking mosquito imago was recorded for animals using an entomological net with removable bags, while the average abundance rate of mosquitoes was calculated per 10 net movements in a figure-eight pattern around from 10 repetitions when studying the seasonal abundance dynamics and from 5 repetitions when studying the circadian activity rhythm. Results and discussion. In Yakutia, 15 species of blood-sucking mosquitoes of the family Culicidae were found that belong to three genera: Anopheles, Culiseta, and Aedes. Biotopes occupied by mosquito larvae of the genus Aedes include 74–126 specimens/m2. The first mosquitoes were recorded near an animal bait in the first decade of May. The mass mosquito flight period was observed from the third decade of June to the middle of the second decade of July. The total mosquitofl ight period for the season was 121–124 days. The flight of blood-sucking mosquitoes on the forest pasture continues around the clock, from the third decade of June to the middle of the second decade of July
Influence of alkaline modification on adsorption properties of alumina
The kinetics of water vapor adsorption on alumina adsorbents at a temperature of 25 °C was studied. It was shown that modification by cations of alkali metals (K, Na) of the adsorbent based on alumina allows increasing its efficiency in the process of water vapor adsorption. The mathematical treatment of the experimental data by the dependence of water vapor adsorption on the time with the help of the Linear Driving Force (LDF) model and the dependence of adsorbent's adsorption capacity on the water vapor concentration (adsorption isotherm) by Dubinin-Astakhov equation was carried out. Constants included in the equations were defined

The possible evolution of pitch angles of spiral galaxies
The origin and maintenance of spiral structure in galaxies, the correlation
between different types of spiral structure and several proposed mechanisms for
their generation, and the evolution of spiral arms of galaxies with time are
questions that are still controversial. In this note we study the spiral
structure in a sample of distant galaxies in order to infer the evolution of
spiral arm characteristics with redshift. We considered a sample of 171 face-on
spiral galaxies in the Hubble Space Telescope COSMOS (The Cosmic Evolution
Survey) field. The galaxies are distributed up to with a mean
value of 0.44. For all galaxies, we determined the pitch angles of the spiral
arms and analysed their dependence on redshift; a total of 359 arms were
measured. Analyses of our measurements combined with the literature data
suggest a possible evolution of the pitch angles of spiral galaxies: by the
modern epoch the spiral pattern, on average, becomes more tightly wound. This
may be a consequence of the general evolution of the structure of galaxies as
galaxies become more massive over time and their bulges grow. In addition, the
distribution of the cotangent of pitch angle of galaxies indicates the
possibility that the dominant mechanism of spiral pattern generation changes
over time.Comment: 5 pages, accepted for publication on Astronomy & Astrophysics Letter
Porto-hepatic hemodynamics in patients with destructive pancreatitis combined with liver failure
Extraorgan complications of acute destructive pancreatitis are registered in 60-95 % of patients. Liver failure is registered in one of the four patients with pancreatic necrosis. We analyzed the results of surgical treatment of 122 patients with acute destructive pancreatitis. We studied clinical indicators of liver failure in 103 (84.4 %) patients with acute pancreatitis. The development of portal hypertension with decrease in hepatic volume perfusion is an important element in the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis and associated liver function abnormalities. In patients with severe and moderate liver failure, the reduction of blood flow in portal vein was registered. It was caused by reduce of portal vein diameter and decrease in linear blood flow velocity. Destructive pancreatitis is accompanied by liver failure with hyperbilirubinemia, increased activity of cytolytic enzymes, incoordination in protein and carbohydrate metabolism as its common manifestations. An important factor in the pathogenesis of liver failure is a reduction of porto-hepatic hemodynamics and as a consequence - hepatic hypoperfusion
Clinical and laboratory indicators in pregnant women with preeclampsia
The objective of this study is to compare clinical and laboratory indicators in pregnant women with preeclampsia (PE) compared with women with physiological pregnancy. The study group included 209 women with physiological pregnancy and 250 pregnant women with PE. We studied coagulogram data, biochemical blood analysis, and the level of systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and during pregnanc
