Bimetallic PdAg nanoparticle arrays from monolayer films of diblock copolymer micelles
International audienceThe self-assembly technique provides a highly efficient route to generate well-ordered structures on a nanometer scale. In this paper, well-ordered arrays of PdAg alloy nanoparticles on flat substrates with narrow distributions of particle size (6-7 nm) and interparticle spacing (about 60 nm) were synthesized by the block copolymer micelle approach. A home-made PS-b-P4VP diblock copolymer was prepared to obtain a micellar structure in toluene. Pd and Ag salts were then successfully loaded in the micellar core of the PS-b-P4VP copolymer. A self-assembled monolayer of the loaded micelles was obtained by dipping the flat substrate in the solution. At this stage, the core of the micelles was still loaded with the metal precursor rather than with a metal. Physical and chemical reducing methods were used to reduce the metal salts embedded in the P4VP core into PdAg nanoparticles. HRTEM and EDX indicated that Pd-rich PdAg alloy nanoparticles were synthesized by chemical or physical reduction; UV-visible spectroscopy observations confirmed that metallic PdAg nanoparticles were quickly formed after chemical reduction; XPS measurements revealed that the PdAg alloy nanoparticles were in a metallic state after a short time of exposure to O-2 plasma and after hydrazine reduction
Universality classes in nonequilibrium lattice systems
This work is designed to overview our present knowledge about universality
classes occurring in nonequilibrium systems defined on regular lattices. In the
first section I summarize the most important critical exponents, relations and
the field theoretical formalism used in the text. In the second section I
briefly address the question of scaling behavior at first order phase
transitions. In section three I review dynamical extensions of basic static
classes, show the effect of mixing dynamics and the percolation behavior. The
main body of this work is given in section four where genuine, dynamical
universality classes specific to nonequilibrium systems are introduced. In
section five I continue overviewing such nonequilibrium classes but in coupled,
multi-component systems. Most of the known nonequilibrium transition classes
are explored in low dimensions between active and absorbing states of
reaction-diffusion type of systems. However by mapping they can be related to
universal behavior of interface growth models, which I overview in section six.
Finally in section seven I summarize families of absorbing state system
classes, mean-field classes and give an outlook for further directions of
research.Comment: Updated comprehensive review, 62 pages (two column), 29 figs

Development of methodology for creating an audio guide for the blind and visually impaired people
The main purpose of this work is to develop an innovative methodology of figurative and the most complete descriptions of objects in order to create an audio guide of the main attractions of the city of Yekaterinburg. This audio guide is designed for the blind and visually impaired people. Such a project can have serious social resonance, as well as significant in terms of increasing the comfort of the urban environment for people with disabilities. Since these audio guides in the Russian Federation doesn’t exist, the application of standard techniques to create a tourism product is not possible. The implementation of a project aimed at developing a methodology descriptions of urban facilities and the selection of a route for people with disabilities, will allow the team of young scientists of the department to get the result, which in the future may have a further scientific development and applications of in tourism.Программа развития УрФУ на 2013 год (п.2.1.1.1

ON THE TERMINOLOGY OF SPONDYLOARTHRITIS
By the end of the first decade of the 21st century, spondyloarthritis studies have accumulated a certain number of terms that are obsolete, but used by physicians in their everyday speech, on the one hand, and a great variety of different definitions, on the other hand. In January 2014, the first organizational meeting of the Expert Group on Spondyloarthritis, Association of Rheumatologists of Russia, decided that its primary task should be to order the terminology used in this area. The authors primarily collected the terms, which had been already used in medical vocabulary, and then divided them into two categories: obsolete definitions and terms to be finalized and unified. This publication gives guidelines for using the medical terms relevant to spondyloarthritis and separately discusses how to correctly write the term sacroiliitis

Cause of Death and Predictors of All-Cause Mortality in Anticoagulated Patients With Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation : Data From ROCKET AF
M. Kaste on työryhmän ROCKET AF Steering Comm jäsen.Background-Atrial fibrillation is associated with higher mortality. Identification of causes of death and contemporary risk factors for all-cause mortality may guide interventions. Methods and Results-In the Rivaroxaban Once Daily Oral Direct Factor Xa Inhibition Compared with Vitamin K Antagonism for Prevention of Stroke and Embolism Trial in Atrial Fibrillation (ROCKET AF) study, patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation were randomized to rivaroxaban or dose-adjusted warfarin. Cox proportional hazards regression with backward elimination identified factors at randomization that were independently associated with all-cause mortality in the 14 171 participants in the intention-to-treat population. The median age was 73 years, and the mean CHADS(2) score was 3.5. Over 1.9 years of median follow-up, 1214 (8.6%) patients died. Kaplan-Meier mortality rates were 4.2% at 1 year and 8.9% at 2 years. The majority of classified deaths (1081) were cardiovascular (72%), whereas only 6% were nonhemorrhagic stroke or systemic embolism. No significant difference in all-cause mortality was observed between the rivaroxaban and warfarin arms (P=0.15). Heart failure (hazard ratio 1.51, 95% CI 1.33-1.70, P= 75 years (hazard ratio 1.69, 95% CI 1.51-1.90, P Conclusions-In a large population of patients anticoagulated for nonvalvular atrial fibrillation, approximate to 7 in 10 deaths were cardiovascular, whereasPeer reviewe
Relationship of endothelial dysfunction and kidney functional state in patients with systemic sclerosis
Objective. To study vasoregulatory function of vascular wall in pts with systemic sclerosis (SS) and chronic scleroderma-related renal disease (SRD) and determine relationship with main measures of kidney functional state. Material and methods. 25 pts with SS (24 female) with mean age 46,4±10,7 years and mean disease duration 7,5±4,7 years were included. 24 pts (96%) had diffuse form and 17 pts (68%) – generalized stage of SS. 22 pts (88%) had chronic course of the disease with typical damage of vessels, heart, lungs and skin. SRD was revealed in 17 pts (68%). Sonographic method of Celermejer D. et al. (1992) was used for assessment of vascular endothelial function. 15 healthy persons without SS were included in control group. Results. Most prominent changes of brachial artery reactivity with insufficient vasodilatation and paradoxical vasoconstriction to reactive hyperemia were revealed in most pts with moderate and severe SRD. Conclusion. These changes of endothelium dependent and endothelium independent parameters in pts with SRD pointed to irreversible probably scleroderma-related vascular wall damage
