Recovery and increase of the productivity of wells of Kashirskiy and Podolskiy reservoirs of the certain Perm region oil field

The paper presents the results of the analysis of the efficiency of improved oil recovery (IOR) methods designed to restore and increase the productivity of wells of Kashirskiy and Podolskiy reservoirs of the certain Perm region oil field. Indirect evidences prove that the carbonate reservoir of the formations exhibits fracture-pore-type reservoir properties, which affects the productivity of wells and results of IOR methods. Comparative analysis of the efficiency of IOR methods implemented on production wells poined out on higher values for proppant hydraulic fracturing (HF). The increment in well production oil rate after HF increases with an increase in the specific consumption of proppant. The calculations are performed according to the wave acoustic cross-dipole logging (cross-dipole sonic). According to the results of studies and calculations, the profile of horizontal stresses in the reservoir was constructed, the values of bottomhole pressure at which the closure of the fracture occurs in individual layers are substantiated. A retrospective design of the main HF was performed for a certain well. It is showed that the height of fracture development is limited by dense barriers above and below the perforation interval, while the part of the fracture formed is not packed with proppant. Proppant HF is accompanied by a significant increase in well water-cut after IOR methods implementation, the nature of which changes in subsequent periods indicates a high probability of involvment of formation drainage through a fractured interbeds with low natural oil saturation to the process. The analysis of the results of IOR methods, well logging data, taking into account the built retrospective design of the main HF, leads to the conclusion that it is necessary to optimize the technological parameters while designing the HF for production wells of the Kashirskiy and Podolskiy reservoirs of the certain Perm region oil fields That is controlled by increasing the specific consumption of proppant, reducing the polymer load and the share of the buffer stage of the main HF

Blunted endogenous opioid release following an oral amphetamine challenge in pathological gamblers

Pathological gambling is a psychiatric disorder and the first recognized behavioral addiction, with similarities to substance use disorders but without the confounding effects of drug-related brain changes. Pathophysiology within the opioid receptor system is increasingly recognized in substance dependence, with higher mu-opioid receptor (MOR) availability reported in alcohol, cocaine and opiate addiction. Impulsivity, a risk factor across the addictions, has also been found to be associated with higher MOR availability. The aim of this study was to characterize baseline MOR availability and endogenous opioid release in pathological gamblers (PG) using [(11)C]carfentanil PET with an oral amphetamine challenge. Fourteen PG and 15 healthy volunteers (HV) underwent two [(11)C]carfentanil PET scans, before and after an oral administration of 0.5 mg/kg of d-amphetamine. The change in [(11)C]carfentanil binding between baseline and post-amphetamine scans (ΔBPND) was assessed in 10 regions of interest (ROI). MOR availability did not differ between PG and HV groups. As seen previously, oral amphetamine challenge led to significant reductions in [(11)C]carfentanil BPND in 8/10 ROI in HV. PG demonstrated significant blunting of opioid release compared with HV. PG also showed blunted amphetamine-induced euphoria and alertness compared with HV. Exploratory analysis revealed that impulsivity positively correlated with caudate baseline BPND in PG only. This study provides the first evidence of blunted endogenous opioid release in PG. Our findings are consistent with growing evidence that dysregulation of endogenous opioids may have an important role in the pathophysiology of addictions

A Bayesian Modeling Approach to Examine the Role of Testosterone Administration on the Endowment Effect and Risk-Taking

Financial risk-taking and loss aversion are multifaceted phenomena that are the focus of neuroscience, psychology, and economics research. A growing number of studies highlighted the role of hormones (particularly of testosterone) on socio-economic decision-making. However, the effects of testosterone on risk-taking under framing and consumer-based choices and preferences are inconclusive. We investigated the effects of 100 mg testosterone administration on aspects of decision-making within the Prospect Theory framework which is the most used descriptive model of decision-making under risk. We assessed risk-taking under framing and the endowment effect (effect of possession) using Bayesian modeling. Forty men participated in this double-blind placebo-controlled fully-randomized cross-over experiment and performed two tasks. One was a risk-taking task with binary choices under positive and negative framing associated with different probabilities. In the second task participants had to bid money for hedonic and utilitarian items. We observed a significant increase in serum testosterone concentrations after transdermal application. Compared to placebo, testosterone administration increased risk-taking under the positive framing (very large effect size) and decreased under the negative framing (moderate to small). The sensitivity to gain was positive in each framing. Our model showed that decision-making is jointly influenced by testosterone and the trade-off between gains and losses. However, while the endowment effect was more pronounced for hedonic than for utilitarian items, the effect was independent of testosterone. The findings provide novel information on the complex modulatory role of testosterone on risk-taking within the framework of prospect theory and shed light on mechanisms of behavioral economic biases. The proposed models of effects of individual differences in testosterone on risk-taking could be used as predictive models for reference-depended behavior under positive and negative framing with low and high probabilities

Educational environment ecology as factor of university teacher health saving in context of education and science reforms in modern russia

© Foundation Environmental Protection & Research-FEPR. The relevance of the article is because the modern era of globalization and rapid digital development requires timely transformation of all social institutions, including the Institute of higher education, which in turn entails a change in the environment of the educational environment for University teachers themselves, which affects their health, workload and personal life. The article considers the ecology of the educational environment as a factor of health saving of teachers in the conditions of reforming education and science. It is shown that in the modern University in the conditions of reform the ecology of the educational environment for teachers is violated: in universities there are no conditions necessary to find a certain balance that would allow quickly and easily perform the full range of diverse tasks facing teachers, there are no formed templates, programs that would simplify the process of working with electronic document circulation. Now, all the requirements set by the management only complicate, not optimize the work of teachers, which in turn violates the ecology of the educational environment of teachers. It is determined that most of their working time teachers spend not on teaching and working with students, but on electronic document management, filling out various types of papers, working with a computer both for themselves and for senior colleagues. It is revealed that in the personal system of teachers’ values in the priority of the activities that are most expected within the declared profession are research, getting into various ratings, professional growth, as well as teaching and working with students. The article also shows the forms of teachers’ activity at the University (teaching, work with students, research, administrative work, and work with electronic documents). The data obtained in the work can be used in the psychology of labor, social psychology, pedagogy, psychology of education, as well as for further theoretical development of this issue
