    Unidirectional synapse-like behavior of Zr/ZrO2-NT/Au layered structure

    Zirconia nanotubular layer with an outer tube diameter 25 nm was synthesized by potentiostatic anodization. The Zr/ZrO2-NT/Au memristive structure is fabricated using stencil mask and magnetron sputtering techniques. Current-voltage characteristics are measured in full cycles of resistive switching with varying parameters of the applied harmonic voltage. An equivalent circuit with unidirectional electrical conductivity for the studied structure is proposed. Estimates of the electrical resistance of memristors in high-and intermediate resistivity states are performed. The high synaptic plasticity of memristors based on the Zr/ZrO2-NT/Au structure is shown. Β© 2018 IEEE

    Nanotubular samples of zirconium dioxide were synthesized by anodic oxidation in electrolyte of ethylene glycol aqueous solution. As-grown and annealed at 400 oC structures consist of tetragonal and monoclinic ZrO2 according to XRD analysis. Energy gap width of Eg 5.2 and 5.5 eV was evaluated allowing for direct forbidden transitions for original and heat-treated oxides, respectively

The aim of the work is the electrochemical synthesis of nanotubular zirconia structures and the study of their luminescence and absorption properties. The methods of investigation are scanning electron microscopy, X-ray phase analysis, absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The novelty of the work is the photoluminescence of anodized zirconia in the temperature range of 6.2-700 K. It is shown that the luminescence intensity increases with decreasing temperature to 30 K. The emission spectra are described by two peaks of a Gaussian shape with maxima Emax = 2.28 and 2.75 eV and halfwidths Ο‰ = 0.77 and 0.67 eV, respectively. A possible field of application of anodized zirconia is the matrix of solar cells and photocatalysts. Spectra of diffuse reflection of samples before and after annealing were measured. By means of the Tauc plot, the energy of the edge of the optical absorption of nanotubular zirconium dioxide Eg = 5.4 Β± 0.1 eV is calculated.
