Search for Non-Triggered Gamma Ray Bursts in the BATSE Continuous Records: Preliminary Results
We present preliminary results of an off-line search for non-triggered
gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) in the BATSE daily records for about 5.7 years of
observations. We found more GRB-like events than the yield of the similar
search of Kommers et al. (1998) and extended the Log N - log P distribution
down to 0.1 ph cm s. The indication of a turnover of the
log N - log P at a small P is not confirmed: the distribution is straight at
1.5 decades with the power law index -.6 and cannot be fitted with a standard
candle cosmological model.Comment: 4 pages, LaTeX, to appear in Proceedings "Gamma Ray Bursts in the
Afterglow Era", Rome, November 1998, A&AS, 199

The Analysis of the COVID-19 Image Evolution in English Mass Media Discourse
Starting from January 2020, the whole world and all the peopleβs professional activities are aο¬ected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the phenomenon of COVID has been analyzed from diο¬erent perspectives. The present study aims to study the evolution of the COVID-19 image in the online mass media discourse on the example of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) news portal. The research employs semantic network analysis to trace the changes in the description of the coronavirus-related articles presented online. Three samples of articles from the period from 2020 to 2022 are randomly collected and subjected to further analysis. As a result, the author concludes, that the image of the COVID pandemic has undergone a signiο¬cant change from the distant public health-related phenomenon to one of the legal actors and social activities. The present study contributes to the analysis of the coronavirus pandemic domain in the online mass media discourse and diversiο¬es the studies, employing the semantic network analysis approach

Criteria for evaluation of clinical efficacy make it possible to assess the risk-benefit ratio of anticancer medicines that patients receive, in particular, for the treatment of solid malignant tumors. A medicineβs efficacy is assessed using special criteria called the endpoints of clinical efficacy, allowing most objective assessment of study results. It was demonstrated that nowadays clinical efficacy of anticancer drugs is assessed using Β«patient-centeredΒ» (overall survival and quality of life) and Β«tumor-centeredΒ» (response to therapy, progression-free survival, disease-free survival) endpoints. Β«Patient-centeredΒ» endpoints make it possible to evaluate the direct clinical benefit of chemotherapy in patients, while Β«tumor-centeredΒ» endpoints allow for evaluation of efficacy at earlier stages, without directly reflecting the clinical benefit. The analysis of the most suitable endpoints with the aim of making them interchangeable with the primary outcome measure β overall survival β is becoming more and more relevant in oncology. The choice of criteria of efficacy should be made taking into account the specific features of a particular oncological disease, study population and duration of therapy. The authors of the study analysed Russian and foreign literary sources containing information on criteria of efficacy of anticancer medicines and highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of these criteria. The study showed that clinical endpoints should be clinically significant, sensitive to therapy, easy to measure and interpret. It was demonstrated that comprehensive evaluation of outcome measures makes it possible to adequately assess the risk-benefit ratio of anticancer medicines.ΠΡΠΈΡΠ΅ΡΠΈΠΈ ΠΎΡΠ΅Π½ΠΊΠΈ ΠΊΠ»ΠΈΠ½ΠΈΡΠ΅ΡΠΊΠΎΠΉ ΡΡΡΠ΅ΠΊΡΠΈΠ²Π½ΠΎΡΡΠΈ ΠΏΠΎΠ·Π²ΠΎΠ»ΡΡΡ ΠΎΡΠ΅Π½ΠΈΡΡ ΠΎΡΠ½ΠΎΡΠ΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ ΠΎΠΆΠΈΠ΄Π°Π΅ΠΌΠΎΠΉ ΠΏΠΎΠ»ΡΠ·Ρ ΠΊ Π²ΠΎΠ·ΠΌΠΎΠΆΠ½ΠΎΠΌΡ ΡΠΈΡΠΊΡ ΠΏΡΠΈΠΌΠ΅Π½Π΅Π½ΠΈΡ ΠΏΡΠΎΡΠΈΠ²ΠΎΠΎΠΏΡΡ

Employment of Students as a Factor of the Development of Human Capital
The article states that the employment of students is one of the factors for the development of human capital. The purpose of the article is to show the influence of student employment on the development of human capital. The theoretical basis was the concepts of secondary employment, a statistical and socio-logical approach to assessing the employment of the unemployed, as well as the theory of the academic revolution. Research methods: analysis of theoretical literature, foreign and domestic experience, secondary analysis of research data on secondary employment of student youth, authors' own research using the method of mass questionnaires and focus groups. Study results. The results of the research prove the influence of student employment on the development of human capital in the Russian Federation. This factor has a multi-valued effect depending on the initial labor motivation, as well as on the nature of the work performed, on the degree of communication between the place of work and the specialization and job placement received in the university. A model that describes the peculiarities of the employment of students of modern Russian universities in the development of human capital is proposed. The article makes the assumption of a change in the proportion of students oriented toward achieving practical and fast results, in the direction of increasing it. This shows a trend towards the transition of employment from the secondary to the basic category, as well as the motivation for labor relations from necessity to the form of consumption.
