    Competitiveness of the human capital in youth labour market

На основі результатів соціологічного дослідження виявлено причини, які заважають молоді реалізувати свої конкурентні переваги у сфері праці. Розроблено пропозиції щодо подолання перешкод у використанні людського капіталу на молодіжному ринку праці. The essence of the concepts «competitiveness of the human capital», «competitive advantages of youth in labor market» have been disclosed in the article. The classification of factors of formation of human capital competitiveness has been developed. The specific factors influencing realization of competitive advantages of youth in labor market have been defined. The interrelation of competitive advantages and human capital quality of youth has been revealed. The tendencies of economic activity and youth employment structure have been analyzed. The results of sociological research revealed the factors interfering realization of competitive advantages of youth in employment. The suggestions concerning overcoming of obstacles in realization of the human capital in youth labor market have been developed

    Evaluation of priorities in motivation of workers’ professional development

    У статті здійснено оцінку пріоритетів у мотивації професійного розвитку робітників. На основі проведеного моніторингу проведено ранжування пріоритетності мотивів до професійного навчання та працевлаштування робітників. Оцінено мотивації соціальних партнерів, на основі яких сформовані відповідні мотиваційні профілі та розроблено рекомендації щодо підвищення мотивації професійного розвитку на основі активної соціальної взаємодії та партнерства. The aim of the article is to study the nature of motivation of employees and professional assessment of its priorities from the standpoint of the social partners. In the article the priorities in motivation of workers’ professional development are estimated. Based on the monitoring the ranking of priority of the motives to vocational training and employment of workers is performed. Motivation of social partners, that formed the basis for appropriate motivational profiles, is evaluated. Recommendations for improving the motivation of professional development through active social interaction and partnership are designed. The results of research actualize an urgent need to harmonize the social partner's motivational priorities in the development of skilled workers, their fruitful cooperation in various economic levels that can be implemented only with the active regulatory role of the state in balancing motivation and incentive effects on each individual

    The wireless charging system for mining electric locomotives

    The electric vehicles development has a high potential for energy saving: an energy-saving traffic control can reduce energy resource consumption, and integration with the power grid provides the ability of daily load pattern adjustment. These features are also relevant for underground mining. The critical element of vehicle-to-grid integration is the charging infrastructure, where wireless charging is promising to develop. The implementation of such systems in underground mining is associated with energy efficiency issues and explosion safety. The article discusses the development and research of a wireless charging system for mining electric locomotive A-5.5-600-U5. The analytic hierarchy process is used for justification of the circuitry and design solution by a comparison of different technical solutions based on energy efficiency and safety criteria. A complex computer model of the wireless charging system has been developed that gives the transients in the electrical circuit of a wireless charging system and the high-frequency field density distribution near the transmitting and receiving coils in a 3D setting. An approach to ignition risk evaluation based on the analysis of high-frequency field density in the charging area between the coils of the wireless charging system is proposed. The approach using a complex computer model is applied to the developed system. The study showed that the wireless charging system for mining electric locomotives operating in the gaseous-and-dusty mine is technically feasible and there are designs in which it is explosion safe

    Attitudes and Performance: An Analysis of Russian Workers

    This paper investigates the relationship between locus of control and performance among Russian employees, using survey data collected at 28 workplaces in 2002 in Taganrog and at 47 workplaces in 2003 in Ekaterinburg. We develop a measure that allows us to categorize the Russian employees participating in our survey as exhibiting an internal or external locus of control. We then assess the extent to which there are significant differences between “internals” and “externals” in work-related attitudes that may affect performance. In particular, we focus on (1) attitudes about outcomes associated with hard work, (2) level of job satisfaction, (3) expectation of receiving a desired reward, and (4) loyalty to and involvement with one’s organization. In each case we identify where gender and generational differences emerge. Our main objective is to determine whether Russian employees who exhibit an internal locus of control perform better than employees with an external locus of control. Our performance measures include earnings, expected promotions, and assessments of the quantity and quality of work in comparison to others at the same organization doing a similar job. Controlling for a variety of worker characteristics, we find that (1) individuals who exhibit an internal locus of control perform better, but this result is not always statistically significant; (2) even among “internals,” women earn significantly less than men and have a much lower expectation of promotion; (3) even among “internals,” experience with unemployment has a negative influence on performance.http://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/40144/3/wp758.pd

    ОПЫТ ПРИМЕНЕНИЯ РИТУКСИМАБА У БОЛЬНОЙ СИСТЕМНЫМ ЮВЕНИЛЬНЫМ ИДИОПАТИЧЕСКИМ АРТРИТОМ

    The article presents a case of early onset and severe systemic form of juvenile idiopathic arthritis refractory to classical immunosuppressive therapy, including pulse therapy with methotrexate and combined therapy with methotrexate and cyclosporine. There is described the successful use of chimeric antibodies to CD20 on B lymphocytes — Rituximab — a dose of 375 mg/m2 of body surface in the form of intravenous infusions of 1 time per week for 4 weeks. The child has got one course of treatment with rituximab. By the 12th week of treatment the extraarticular disease manifestations and acute inflammatory changes in the joints stopped, the range of motion in affected joints significantly increased. 22 weeks later the drug induced the development of clinical and laboratory remission, the duration of which is 2.5 years.В статье представлен случай раннего дебюта и тяжелого течения системного варианта ювенильного идиопатического артрита, рефрактерного к терапии классическими иммунодепрессантами, включая пульс-терапию метотрексатом и комбинированное лечение метотрексатом и циклоспорином. Описано успешное применение химерных антител к CD20 на В лимфоцитах — ритуксимаба — в дозе 375 мг/м2 поверхности тела в виде внутривенных инфузий 1 раз в нед в течение 4 нед. У ребенка был проведен 1 курс лечения ритуксимабом. К 12-й нед от начала лечения купировались экстраартикулярные проявления болезни и островоспалительные изменения в суставах, значительно нарос объем движений в пораженных суставах. Через 22 нед препарат индуцировал развитие клинико-лабораторной ремиссии, длительность которой составляет 2,5 года.
