Optimum currency area theory: overview of empirical researches

In the times o f high speed o f globalization problem o f effective integration becomes more popular, and new issues regarding Optimum Currency Area Theory appear Current work presents overview o f the most significant empirical investigations in the field o f Optimum Currency Area (OCA) Theory Most o f researches proposed currency rate volatility as index o f OCA, and applied regression models, cross-section and correlation analysis. Particularly further work contains description o f Bayoumi T. and Eichengreen B. regression model; similar model developed by Stanoeva G.; empirical research made by Drogobytskiy S. and Polevoy D. for post-soviet countries; cross-section analysis o f macroeconomic indicators for countries all over the world by Alesina A., Barro R. and Tenreyrro S.; comparison analysis o f currency rate volatility among German regions by Von Hagen J. and Neuman M.; cross-section analysis o f OCA criteria for Finland and Swiss by Jonung I. and Sjoholm F; and investigation o f Ukrainian scientist Gonchar O.M. about endogenity o f business cycle synchnization. Overview o f major empirical researches o f OCA criteria provides understanding o f benefits and threats o f different tools o f empirical investigation, and support OCA Theory with practical evidences on OCA criteria applications.У час глобалізації проблема ефективної інтеграції стає дедалі популярнішою, з 'являються нові дискусійні питання в теорії оптимальних валютних зон (ОВЗ). Нові тенденції в економічному середовищі породжують необхідність нових досліджень наслідків валютної інтеграції, останнім часом у цій галузі з 'явилося багато емпіричних робіт. У статті наведено огляд основних емпіричних досліджень з теорії оптимальних валютних зон, більшість з яких пропонують волатильність обмінного курсу як індексу ОВЗ та використовують такі інструменти, як регресійні моделі, кроссекційний та кореляційний аналіз. Дослідження основних емпіричних здобутків теорії ОВЗ дозволяє порівняти та оцінити переваги та недоліки різних методів дослідження, а також забезпечує практичну аргументацію основних положень теорії

Laser-Directed Deposition of Mannan-Functionalized Silver Nanostructures

Mannan is a polymannose isolated from the cell wall of Saccaromyces cerevisiae and has strong binding affinity to mannose receptors on antigen presenting cells (APCs), such as dendritic cells and macrophages. Mannan-functionalized nanomaterials or nanostructures are thus of high interests in studying immune responses towards fungi. In this work, we investigated the fabrication of mannan-coated silver nanostructures using a laser-deposition technique. Specifically, two different starting materials were applied for laser-deposition. One is a mixture solution of AgNO3 and mannan, and the other one is the suspension of silver nanoparticles synthesized with mannan as the sole reducing and capping agent. Using 405 nm diode laser in a confocal microscope, we successfully fabricated mannan-covered micropatterns by laser-induced photoreduction of silver ions or aggregation of mannan-capped AgNPs. The results show that both starting materials can be applied to deposit micro- or nanoscaled structures that are covered with mannan, which was confirmed by fluorescence microscopy. These silver nanostructure-supported mannan patterns are promising candidates to mimic the fungal membrane and beneficial for immune cell studies

«The Ball Lightning»: Physics Base & Conceptual Views Complex

The complex of conceptual views about ball lightning (BL) as containing surplus electrical charge quasi-stationary material foundation with distinctions between levels of translation temperature and exciting temperatures of chemical bonds and electron energy states has been offered and is substantiated in the paper. The being formed complex is grounded upon overstepping the limits of generally accepted physical base and is aimed at all-round substantiation of jointly observed in nature manifestations ob BL. Within the limits of the being formed complex the possibility of localization of ball lightning in airspace is confirmed. The nature of the one’s radiate capacity is substantiated. The role of environment as source that feeds BL with energy is established. Power supply mechanisms, conditions and peculiarities of BL’s characteristics reproduction through lifetime are specified. The formations channels of energy resources of BL are turned out. Levels of BL’s energy potentialities, both permissibility proper and wide diapason of variation of the ones (multi-faces of ball lightning) are substantiated. The Relationship Between Levels of Participation in Yoga and Balance Measures of Older Adults

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between levels of yoga participation (i.e., overall lifetime engagement and the number of sessions attended in the past 30 days) and balance measures of older adults as measured by (a) the Activities-specific Balance Confidence (ABC) scale, and (b) the Multi-Directional Reach Test (MDRT). These two questionnaires along with a short demographic survey were administered to 52 participants, aged 55 years and above, who participated in yoga at one of the five identified agencies. Each participant was measured once at the completion of a yoga session. Linear regressions were utilized to determine whether the two yoga variables significantly predicted performance on the ABC Scale and MDRT. It was demonstrated that no significant relationships between the scores on the ABC scale and the two yoga participation variables. Regression results indicated that overall lifetime engagement in yoga and number of sessions attended in the past 30 days significantly predicted (R² = .11, p = .03) the forward reach measure on the MDRT. Participation in yoga was not significantly related to the backward reach, left lateral reach, or right lateral reach of the MDRT. Among yoga participants, relationships between balance and yoga participation were generally low; however, the significant relationship between the forward reach measure and yoga participation suggests that yoga has some merit for use as an alternative therapy intervention.M.S

ПРАВОВЫЕ СРЕДСТВА ЗАЩИТЫ ПРАВ ЛИЦ, ПРИВЛЕКАЕМЫХ К ОТВЕТСТВЕННОСТИ ПРИ ПРОИЗВОДСТВЕ ПО ДЕЛАМ ОБ АДМИНИСТРАТИВНЫХ ПРАВОНАРУШЕНИЯХ

На основі аналізу наукової літератури та чинного законодавства України досліджено основні правові засоби захисту прав осіб, які притягуються до відповідальності під час провадження у справах про адміністративні правопорушення. Наголошено, що особа, яка притягується до адміністративної відповідальності, є, в першу чергу, людиною – найвищою соціальною цінністю держави. Саме тому органи, уповноважені здійснювати провадження у справі про адміністративні правопорушення, зобов’язані забезпечити реалізацію всіх передбачених законом прав та інтересів цих осіб.Based on the analysis of scientific views of scholars and current legislation of Ukraine the author has researched the basic legal means of protecting the rights of persons brought to justice in proceedings in cases on administrative offenses. It has been emphasized that while the proceedings in the case on administrative offenses an authorized person of the state authorities violated the rights of persons, who are brought to administrative liability, these persons can appeal such actions both to the agency or an official of a higher level and to the court. The Constitution of Ukraine provides a person with the right to go to the court with a complaint either after its revision by the relevant authorities or officials, or directly during the proceeding. It has been noted that under the Art. 55 of the Constitution of Ukraine a legislator also provided the possibility for persons, who are brought to administrative liability, to appeal in the frames of protecting their rights to the Ombudsman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights and the right after using all national means of legal protection, to appeal the relevant international judicial institutions or to the relevant agencies of international organizations to protect their rights and freedoms, where Ukraine is a member. The procedure of appealing the above mentioned subjects for protecting their rights has been revealed. It has been proved that the authorities empowered to carry out proceedings in cases on administrative offenses shall ensure the implementation of all the rights and interests provided by the law, which are defined for these persons, because a man is the highest social value of the state according to the Constitution of Ukraine. A studying human rights and the procedure of their guaranteeing should be a part of professional training of the officers of the National Police of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies.На основе анализа научной литературы и действующего законодательства Украины исследованы основные правовые средства защиты прав лиц, привлекаемых к ответственности при производстве по делам об административных правонарушениях. Отмечено, что лицо, привлекаемое к административной ответственности, является, в первую очередь, человеком – высшей социальной ценностью государства. Именно поэтому органы, уполномоченные осуществлять производство по делам об административных правонарушениях, обязаны обеспечить реализацию всех предусмотренных законом прав и интересов этих лиц
