ELECTRODE POTENTIAL OF STEEL 10Х23Н18
Most welded structures operate under difficult conditions of simultaneous exposure to corrosive media and workloads. Practice shows that the destruction of welded structures under such operating conditions occurs, as a rule, along a weld seam or a zone of thermal influence. The aim of the work is to study the coil of the pyrolysis furnace and the corrosion characteristics of 10Х23Н18 pipe steel by measuring electrode potentials
Understanding Change in Romantic Relationship Expectations of International Female Students from Turkey
In the light of grounded theory, the authors explored change in romantic relationship expectations of international students. Twelve female graduate students from Turkey were interviewed and several themes were identified explaining the presence and absence of change in participants’ attitudes toward romantic relationships. The findings are discussed in relation to acculturation and direction for future research is presented
Nonlinear Waves as Signals in Microtubules
Modern models predict phenomena of nonlinear elastic waves propagation within cellular microtubules. But little is known about their interaction with near environment such as ionic shell in solution. In present paper a model of localized nonlinear electro-acoustic wave excitation is proposed and kink solution is obtained. The kink transfers internal bending of tubulin dimers with synchronous electric current of condensed counterions along microtubule. Suggested mechanism of active wave propagation relies on energy supply by GTP hydrolysis
New types of solitonic excitations in a nonlinear helicoidal model of DNA and their biological significance
A previously unexplored type of solitons in helicoidal nonlinear model for DNA is studied. A twist soliton represents a localized overtwist of DNA double helix propagating along with compression of hydrogen bonds between base pairs. Such solitons can be analytically described within the framework of Korteweg-de Vries equation
