Tough competition on the steel product market causes the functioning of steelworks largely to depend on their abilities to respond flexibly to the market needs and offer the right product, at the right price and in the right time. A tool which is more and more commonly used for achieving this goal is logistics. The function of logistics in a production company is the optimal shaping of the stream of materials and information flowing through the company. The article reports the result of an analysis of material and information flows on the example of a selected metallurgical enterprise.Jaka konkurencija na tržištu čeličnih proizvoda dovodi do toga da funkcioniranje čeličana uvelike ovisi o njihovoj sposobnosti da fleksibilno odgovore potrebama tržišta i ponude pravi proizvod po pravoj cijeni u pravo vrijeme. Sve se više koristi za postizanje tog cilja logistika. Funkcija logistike u nekom proizvodnom poduzeću je u tome da osigura optimalan protok materijala i informacija kroz poduzeće. Physicochemical Characterization and Dissolution Studies of Solid Dispersions of Clotrimazole with Pluronic F127
Purpose: To evaluate the physicochemical properties of clotrimazole (CLT) solid dispersion with Pluronic F127 (PLU).Methods: Solid dispersions of the antifungal drug, clotrimazole, were prepared with Pluronic F127 using grinding (PM) and fusion (FUS) methods. Physicochemical characterization of the dispersions were performed using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), x-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). In vitro drug release was carried out using the rotating disc method.Results: These studies showed that there was no chemical interaction between CLT and PLU. Release studies on the SDs showed a significant (> 90-fold) improvement in dissolution rate compared to pure CLT. The greatest increase in dissolution (< 80 %) was observed for the solid dispersion (CLT/PLU) prepared by FUS in the ratio 60:40 % w/w.Conclusion: The results demonstrate that the developed solid dispersion system is a suitable approach for enhancing the dissolution rate of CLT.Keywords: Clotrimazole, Pluronic F127, Solid dispersion, Dissolution, Differential scanning calorimetry, Phase diagra

Structural insights into translocation and tailored synthesis of hyaluronan
Hyaluronan (HA) is an essential component of the vertebrate extracellular matrix. It is a heteropolysaccharide of N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) and glucuronic acid (GlcA) reaching several megadaltons in healthy tissues. HA is synthesized and translocated in a coupled reaction by HA synthase (HAS). Here, structural snapshots of HAS provide insights into HA biosynthesis, from substrate recognition to HA elongation and translocation. We monitor the extension of a GlcNAc primer with GlcA, reveal the coordination of the uridine diphosphate product by a conserved gating loop and capture the opening of a translocation channel to coordinate a translocating HA polymer. Furthermore, we identify channel-lining residues that modulate HA product lengths. Integrating structural and biochemical analyses suggests an avenue for polysaccharide engineering based on finely tuned enzymatic activity and HA coordination
Plastid phylogenomics resolves ambiguous relationships within the orchid family and provides a solid timeframe for biogeography and macroevolution
Recent phylogenomic analyses based on the maternally inherited plastid organelle have enlightened evolutionary relationships between the subfamilies of Orchidaceae and most of the tribes. However, uncertainty remains within several subtribes and genera for which phylogenetic relationships have not ever been tested in a phylogenomic context. To address these knowledge-gaps, we here provide the most extensively sampled analysis of the orchid family to date, based on 78 plastid coding genes representing 264 species, 117 genera, 18 tribes and 28 subtribes. Divergence times are also provided as inferred from strict and relaxed molecular clocks and birth–death tree models. Our taxon sampling includes 51 newly sequenced plastid genomes produced by a genome skimming approach. We focus our sampling efforts on previously unplaced clades within tribes Cymbidieae and Epidendreae. Our results confirmed phylogenetic relationships in Orchidaceae as recovered in previous studies, most of which were recovered with maximum support (209 of the 262 tree branches). We provide for the first time a clear phylogenetic placement for Codonorchideae within subfamily Orchidoideae, and Podochilieae and Collabieae within subfamily Epidendroideae. We also identify relationships that have been persistently problematic across multiple studies, regardless of the different details of sampling and genomic datasets used for phylogenetic reconstructions. Development of children’s hymenoptera venom allergy quality of life scale (CHVAQoLS)
BACKGROUND: Venom allergy is a rare but life-threatening disease and may have a considerable impact on the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of patients, especially children. This paper presents development of the HRQoL scale for children and adolescents with Hymenoptera venom allergy (HVA). METHODS: The study sample consisted of 71 children, born between 1992 and 2000, who presented with a history of insect sting reaction when referred for consultation in the allergy center of Polish-American Children’s Hospital, Krakow, Poland, during the period from 2000 to 2010. The initial pool of 60 items - divided into 6 domains - was prepared. The items with intercorrelations higher than 0.7 were removed from each domain and then principal component analysis was conducted for each domain separately, to provide a one-dimensional subscale for each domain. Reliability of the subscales was assessed using Cronbach alpha coefficient in terms of Classical Test Theory and with rho coefficient in terms of Item Response Theory. The multidimensionality of the scale was tested using multi-trait scaling. RESULTS: Three to four items from each domain were subsequently selected to constitute six subscales. Rho coefficients for all the subscales reached 0.8, similar results were achieved with the Cronbach alpha coefficients. Multi-trait method showed that the majority of the items indicated stronger correlations with their own subscales than with other subscales, which proves that our constructed subscales measure different dimensions of HRQoL. CONCLUSIONS: The presented scale comprises high validity and reliability subscales measuring six dimensions of HRQoL related to Hymenoptera venom allergy in children and adolescents.
