    Empowerment of Fruits Management Through the Increasing Economic Value of Local Product on the Red Guava Cluster

    Kendal is one of the regencies in Central Java province, which has superior horticultural products, especially in the production of fruits. Kendal has some types of fruits including ā€œJambu biji Getas Merahā€ or red guava. Local communities, especially farmer community established Joint Farmer Group (Gapoktan) of red guava to process it into processed products. The purpose of this research was to analyze issues related to processing of guava in Tambahrejo village. The research used descriptive qualitative analysis with Participatory Rural Appraisal, PRA method. Data were obtained from in-depth interviews with key persons associated with the research. The results showed that based on the analysis of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), processing of red guava could improve quality assurance and food safety of red guava processed product in order to keep developing the product and fulfill the requirements of consumers. Problems associated with the processing of red guava can be minimized or resolved by the establishment of institution in the community to process guava and cooperation between Gapoktan of red guava and the government, local communities and external parties such as educational institutions, investors and others

    Solo City is a city with the second highest visit in Central Java. Development of tourism in the city of Solo is not separated from the role of community participation in developing tourism in this city. Public participation can not be separated from the tourism economy. Embedded value of social capital is one of the things that make up the community participation in tourism development. Collective action in the form of public participation can be a catalyst driving the tourism sector in order to grow continuously to stimulate economic growth in the city of Solo. The purpose of this study is to explore the role and value of social capital in the development of community-based tourism. This study applies the concept of social capital to create an understanding of how the public perception is capable of forming or building and participate in the development of tourism. This study used a qualitative research methodology and data collection through semi-structured interview method, FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and observations that made in the field.This study shows social capital through participation of Solo community that made up of expectations that leads to cooperative behavior, as seen from the cognitive aspects such as public perception that considers that the development of tourism has a positive impact (what the people feel) in the economic recovery. Expectations of a better quality of life through the development of tourism can encourage people to form a community to facilitate their participation in the development of tourism. This community serves as a place for discussion for the people in expressing their ideas about the development of tourism (what the people do), it is part of the structural aspects of social capital. Aspects of cognitive and structural aspects in social capital are able to bring the community together with government cooperation within the framework of the legal form of the Calendar of events in the development of tourism in the city of Solo

    The purpose of this study is to establish the SME development strategy of creative economy, batik burnt in Pati, Central Java, to improve competitiveness. SMEs of creative economy of burnt batik are felt capable of developing the local economy of the surrounding community through science, creativity, and innovation. SMEs are also considered to be able to develop jobs. However, the SMEs of creative economy of burnt batik are unable to give special characteristics to the Pati itself. This study uses Analytical Network Process (ANP). Analysis of the development strategy of competitiveness in SMEs kreati burnt batik covering aspects of the industry, technology, resources, institutions, and financial intermediation. ANP analysis results shows that the five aspects of competitiveness developer in the SME creative burnt batik can generate the resources as a top priority and the development of appropriate strategies to improve the quality of human resources in hopes can help the use of renewable raw materials. Recommended strategies for improving the quality of creative human resources is a strategic with the highest priority with a score of 0.2329

    Transaction Cost of Micro and Small Enterprises Financing

    High transaction costs become one of the obstacles for the micro and small enterprises (MSEs) to access financial loans to the bank. In order to minimize the transaction costs, group lending scheme become alternative, so that both sides are pay lower transaction costs, and MSEs are able to improve their welfare. This study aims to analyze the credit process and transaction costs incurred on the model of individuals and groups lending and to compare the magnitude of transaction costs on both models. Mixed Method Analysis is used to analyze the component of transaction costs and the magnitude of the transaction cost on both models.These results indicate there are differences in transaction costs incurred on both schemes. In the amount of the transaction costs, the overall group scheme still allows for greater compared to individual schemes and dominated by the cost of the disbursement. Even so, the transaction cost per member group is much smaller than the individual schemes

Hampir setiap lembaga keuangan baik konvensional maupun syariah yang menyalurkan dana mengalami risiko pembiayaan masalah keuangan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian bagaimana pengelolaan pembiayaan macet pada lembaga keuangan syariah. Penelitian ini menganalisis dan menggambarkan penerapan Tata Kelola Perusahaan yang Baik (Good Corporate Governance - GCG) dalam pengelolaan pembiayaan dan menggambarkan strategi kebijakan dalam mengatasi pembiayaan macet yang ada di BMT Mitra Muamalah Jepara pada tahun 2015-2016, dengan metode pendekatan kualitatif (wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi). ) Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemangku kepentingan BMT Mitra Muamalah Jepara dengan teknik purposive dan snowball sampling. Metode analisis dengan teknik analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan tata kelola Perusahaan (GCG) pengelolaan pembiayaan buruk cukup baik dan dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi masalah kredit macet yang terjadi di BMT Mitra Muamalah. Strategi untuk mengatasi kredit macet adalah membentuk tim perbaikan dan memperkuat prosedur operasi standar (SOP) pembiayaan dan memaksimalkan peran Account Officer (AO) sebagai pelaksana utama dalam proses pembiayaan penghentian non-performing

    Mechanisms of base selection by the E.coli mispaired uracil glycosylase

    The repair of the multitude of single-base lesions formed daily in the cells of all living organisms is accomplished primarily by the base-excision repair (BER) pathway that initiates repair through a series of lesion-selective glycosylases. In this paper, single-turnover kinetics have been measured on a series of oligonucleotide substrates containing both uracil and purine analogs for the E. coli mispaired uracil glycosylase, MUG. The relative rates of glycosylase cleavage have been correlated with the free energy of helix formation, and with the size and electronic inductive properties of a series of uracil 5-substituents. Data is presented that MUG can exploit the reduced thermodynamic stability of mispairs to distinguish U:A from U:G pairs. Discrimination against the removal of thymine results primarily from the electron-donating property of the thymine 5-methyl substituent, while the size of the methyl group relative to a hydrogen atom is a secondary factor. A series of parameters have been obtained that allow prediction of relative MUG cleavage rates that correlate well with observed relative rates that vary over five orders of magnitude for the series of base analogs examined. We propose that these parameters may be common among DNA glycosylases, however, specific glycosylases may focus more or less on each of the parameters identified. The presence of a series of glycosylases which focus on different lesion properties, all coexisting within the same cell, would provide a robust and partially redundant repair system necessary for the maintenance of the genome

    The Analysis of Beef Cattle Subsystem Agribusiness Implementation in Central Java Province, Indonesia

    The study aimed to analyze the implementation of subsystem agribusiness on the beef cattlefarming in Central Java. Five districts (Rembang, Blora, Grobogan, Boyolali and Wonogiri) werepurposively chosen based on the value of Location Quotient (LQ). The study was conducted usingquota sampling method. Forty respondents of each district were chosen randomly using quota sampling.Data were analyzed through Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results showed that each subsystemagribusiness had adequate potential score. The score of 0.693, 0.721, 0.684, 0.626, and 0.691 were givenfor up-stream subsystem, on-farm, down-stream subsystem, marketing and supporting institution,respectively. The results showed that the SEM model was feasible with Chi-Square value=0.952;RMSEA=0.000; Probability =0.621 and TL1=1.126. The significant results of Critical Ratio (CR) were:up-stream subsystem to the on-farm agribusiness; on-farm subsystem to down-stream agribusiness;down-stream subsystem to the farmer\u27s income; marketing subsystem to the up-stream agribusiness andSupporting Institution to the marketing subsystem and down-stream agribusiness. The conclusion ofresearch indicated that the implementation of beef cattle subsystem agribusiness had adequate index andgive positive effect to the beef cattle agribusiness
