    A feasibility study with survival in swine model

    Transrectal access still has some unsolved issues such as spatial orientation, infection, access and site closure. This study presents a simple technique to perform transcolonic access with survival in a swine model series. A new technique for NOTES perirectal access to perform retroperitoneoscopy, peritoneoscopy, liver and lymphnode biopsies was performed in 6 pigs, using Totally NOTES technique. The specimens were extracted transanally. The flexible endoscope was inserted through a posterior transmural incision and the retrorectal space. Cultures of bacteria were documented for the retroperitoneal space and intra abdominal cavity after 14 days. Rectal site was closed using non-absorbable sutures. There was no bowel cleansing, nor preoperative fasting. The procedures were performed in 6 pigs through transcolonic natural orifice access using available endoscopic flexible instruments. All animals survived 14 days without complications, and cultures were negative. Histopathologic examination of the rectal closure site showed adequate healing of suture line and no micro abscesses. The results of feasibility and safety of experimental Transcolonic NOTES potentially brings new frontiers and future wider applications for minimally invasive surgery.     Transportation assessment in simulated curved canals after preparation with twisted file adaptive and bt-race instruments

    This study compared the incidence of deviation along curved canals after preparation with two nickel-titanium (NiTi) rotary systems, Twisted File Adaptive and BT-RaCe. Forty resin training blocks with curved canals were filled with ink and divided into two groups according to the instrumentation technique. Preinstrumentation images were acquired by using a stereomicroscope. The canals were up to an instrument #35/0.04. Postinstrumentation images were captured using the same conditions, and the images were superimposed. The amount of resin removed was measured at 8 different points, beginning at the apical terminus of the canal. Differences in the mesial and distal aspects were measured to evaluate the occurrence of deviation. The Student?s-t test was used for comparison of the intragroup deviation. Intergroup analysis was performed by using one-way ANOVA for each level. For multiple comparisons, the Bonferroni test was used and a cutoff for significance was set at 5%. Intragroup analysis showed that both instrumentation techniques promoted some deviation at all levels. BT-RaCe showed significantly lower deviation at 0 and 4-mm levels than Group Twisted File Adaptive (p<0.05). On the other hand BT-RaCe showed worse performance at level 6. The results of this study demonstrated that none of the NiTi tested systems was able to instrument curved canals simulated in resin blocks without some deviation during the preparation. There is still need for improvement in the instruments manufacturing aiming the better performance of endodontic files in curved root canals

    Dinâmica da intensificação da agricultura temporária na Área de Proteção Ambiental Ilha do Bananal-Cantão.

    Resumo. Este trabalho teve como objetivo mapear as culturas agrícolas temporárias na safra 2019-2020 da APA Ilha do Bananal-Cantão, identificando a quantidade de ciclos produtivos e avaliando a dinâmica de uso e cobertura da terra dos anos de 2013 a 2018. Para o mapeamento da safra 2019-2020 foram classificadas imagens do sensor MODIS e compatibilizadas com a escala de imagens Landsat-8/OLI por meio de interpretação visual. Para os anos de 2013 e 2018 foram utilizados dados do projeto TerraClass Cerrado. Concluiu-se que a agricultura não só se expandiu territorialmente, como também se intensificou na região. A maior parte da expansão ocorreu em áreas previamente antropizadas, sendo que 1% delas em 2020 foi proveniente de áreas desmatadas a partir de 2018.GEOINFO 2020
