Swarm Intelligence Based Multi-phase OPF For Peak Power Loss Reduction In A Smart Grid

Recently there has been increasing interest in improving smart grids efficiency using computational intelligence. A key challenge in future smart grid is designing Optimal Power Flow tool to solve important planning problems including optimal DG capacities. Although, a number of OPF tools exists for balanced networks there is a lack of research for unbalanced multi-phase distribution networks. In this paper, a new OPF technique has been proposed for the DG capacity planning of a smart grid. During the formulation of the proposed algorithm, multi-phase power distribution system is considered which has unbalanced loadings, voltage control and reactive power compensation devices. The proposed algorithm is built upon a co-simulation framework that optimizes the objective by adapting a constriction factor Particle Swarm optimization. The proposed multi-phase OPF technique is validated using IEEE 8500-node benchmark distribution system.Comment: IEEE PES GM 2014, Washington DC, US

This paper describes different mapping technologies, database standards, and web application development standards that are relevant to the development of web-based GIS applications. PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN PROSES KOGNISI MAHASISWA MELALUI PENGGUNAAN LEMBAR KERJA

Abstrak: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan proses kognisi mahasiswa melalui penggunaan lembar kerja. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil 2011/2012 dengan objek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi angkatan 2010 pada mata kuliah Perkembangan Hewan. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini terdiri atas 2 siklus dengan menerapkan lesson study pada setiap siklusnya. Tahapan lesson study meliputi tahapan plan, do dan see. Tahapan plan meliputi penyusunan Silabus dan RPP serta Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) yang dilakukan secara bersama-sama oleh tim dosen. Selanjutnya tahapan do adalah penerapan langsung pada proses perkuliahan di kelas sesuai dengan RPP yang telah disusun. Pada kegiatan inti, digunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan menggunakan LKM. Tahapan yang ketiga adalah see yang meliputi kegiatan refleksi proses perkuliahan yang telah dilaksanakan. Evaluasi akhir mengenai kemampuan mahasiswa pada berbagai dimensi proses kognitif dilakukan dengan menganalisis LKM yang telah diselesaikan oleh mahasiswa. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada umumnya mahasiswa mampu berpikir pada level kognisi C1 dan C2, sedangkan kemampuan berpikir pada level C4, C5 dan C6 tergolong rendah. Aktivitas mahasiswa selama berlangsungnya pembelajaran baik pada open lesson 1 maupun pada lesson 2 sangat menggembirakan. Secara umum mahasiswa aktif dan fokus pada masalah pembelajaran mulai dari awal hingga akhir. Mahasiswa aktif melakukan tanya jawab dan diskusi di dalam kelompoknya maupun pada saat dilakukan diskusi kelas. Mereka sudah lebih berani mengemukakan pertanyaan-pertanyaan, dan mengungkapkan pendapatnya terhadap permasalahan-permasalahan yang dihadapi. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan LKM dalam proses pembelajaran mahasiswa dapat meningkatkan kemampuan proses kognisi mahasiswa.
