Perceived Organisational Culture in High Achieving and Low Achieving Schools
This study attempted to investigate and compare organisational culture of three high achieving and three low achieving secondary schools in the district of Kulim Bandar Baharu, Kedah in the context of quality culture as
recommended by the Pekeliiing Kemajuan Perkhidmatan Awam (PKPA) or the Development Administrative Circulars (DAC) for the Public Services sector. Seven quality principles were examined along top management support; long-term strategic plan on quality; customer focus; training and
recognition team spirit (esprit de corps); performance measurement and quality assurance. Specifically, this study sought to provide answers to the following questions: (1) Will high achieving schools differ significantly from low achieving schools in quality culture along these principles, jointly or singly? (2) what school and teacher factors will significantly explain the variance in the quality culture
Tourists\u27 satisfaction levels on destination facilites of Phuket and thier potential interest in casino gambling
This study measured international tourists\u27 satisfaction levels on destination facilities of Phuket, Thailand. It also attempted to inquire if there was a potential interest in casino gambling among them as the issue of casino legalization in Thailand has been raised and discussed widely during the past few years. The purpose of the study is to better understand how destination facilities of Phuket performed in the eyes of international tourists and if they are attracted to casino gambling as an added activity they might participate in in the setting of Phuket. . A brief overview of Thailand\u27s tourism industry and current casino operations in Thailand were provided as a framework for understanding the background of the issue raised. A description of the questionnaire and research designed is mentioned in the study. The research has been loosely designed due to time and monetary constraints. It should not, then, be replicated. However, it should serve as a prudent step and instigate a research-based study as a decision tool for tourism planners in Thailand
Response functions as quantifiers of non-Markovianity
Quantum non-Markovianity is crucially related to the study of dynamical maps,
which are usually derived for initially factorized system-bath states. We here
demonstrate that linear response theory also provides a way to derive dynamical
maps, but for initially correlated (and in general entangled) states.
Importantly, these maps are always time-translational invariant and allow for a
much simpler quantification of non-Markovianity compared to previous
approaches. We apply our theory to the Caldeira-Leggett model, for which our
quantifier is valid beyond linear response and can be expressed analytically.
We find that a classical Brownian particle coupled to an Ohmic bath can already
exhibit non-Markovian behaviour, a phenomenon related to the initial state
preparation procedure. Furthermore, for a peaked spectral density we
demonstrate that there is no monotonic relation between our quantifier and the
system-bath coupling strength, the sharpness of the peak or the resonance
frequency in the bath.Comment: Updated version with additional information. 5 + 5 pages incl. 2

Current abortion practices in India: a review of literature
Among issues related to reproductive health, none has more controversial connotations than abortion nor carries a heavier burden of stigmatization. Abortion, is a universal phenomenon and is defined as and has existed throughout recorded history, yet it continues to be a highly charged, controversial issue, raising extreme passions among lay people, as well as politicians, religious leaders, and health and rights advocates. Although abortion services in India were liberalized more than three decades ago, access to safe services remains limited for majority of women. This paper synthesizes recent evidence on abortion scenario in India, explores factors why women seek abortions. It highlights factors, notably unmet needs for contraception, lack of awareness of legality of abortion services, limited access to safe services, poor quality of services, leading women to seek services from untrained providers. Thus by making abortion services broadly legal, understanding size, type of unmet need, characteristics of women with unmet need, can surely help tackle this problem to some extent
Vaginal contraception: a roadmap to women's reproductive autonomy-a narrative review
The right to contraception information and services is one of the essential rights of every woman that guarantees access to safe, acceptable, available, and good-quality contraceptives. Contraceptive vaginal rings are a form of modern contraceptive that is user-friendly, effective, and safe to use. The present review briefs about the contraceptive vaginal ring, its composition, mechanism of action, advantages, disadvantages, and newer development of rings with added benefits. Methodology: The recent literature till December 2021 was searched from the various governmental, and non-governmental agencies including WHO, UNFPA, UNDP, UNDESA, Committee on the Rights of the Child, FDA, and many English peer-reviewed journals, including PubMed database, the regional portal of virtual health library, and scientific electronic library online using following search terms “modern contraception”, “contraceptive vaginal ring”, and “newer vaginal rings”. The contraceptive vaginal ring has emerged as an effective, safe, self-administered form of modern contraceptive, with better cycle control, compliance, and continuation rates
DNA Methylation and Cancer
The field of epigenetics now occupy a leading position in the studies relating to diverse processes such as transcriptional regulation, chromatin structure, genome integrity, and tumorigenesis. Recent works have demonstrated how DNA methylation and chromatin structure are linked at the molecular level and how alterations in methylation play a role in tumorigenesis and genetic diseases. The cellular methylation machinery, known as the DNA methyltransferases, plays a major role in mammalian development in terms of the types of proteins they are known to interact with. Recent informations explain how cellular DNA methylation patterns may be established during development and maintained in somatic cells. Emerging evidence indicates that various chromatin states such as histone modifications (acetylation and methylation) and nucleosome positioning (modulated by ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling machines) determine DNA methylation patterning. Additionally, various regulatory factors interacting with the DNA methyltransferases and direct them to specific DNA sequences, regulate their enzymatic activity, and allow their use as transcriptional repressors. Connections between DNA methylation and chromatin structure and the DNA methyltransferase associated proteins, reveal that many, if not all, epigenetic modifications of the genome are directly connected. Such studies should also yield new insights into treating diseases involving aberrant DNA methylation like cancer
Design
Multimedia data security is very important for multimedia commerce on the internet and real time data multicast. An striking solution for encrypting data with adequate message security at low cost is the use of Scrambler/Descrambler. Scramblers are necessary components of physical layer system standards besides interleaved coding and modulation. Scramblers are well used in modern VLSI design especially those are used in data communication system either to secure data or re-code periodic sequence of binary bits stream. However, it is necessary to have a descrambler block on the receiving side while using scrambling data in the transmitting end to have the actual input sequence on the receiving end. Scrambling and De-scrambling is an algorithm that converts an input string into a seemingly random string of the same length to avoid simultaneous bits in the long format of data. Scramblers have accomplish of uses in today's data communication protocols. On the other hand, those methods that are theoretical proposed are not feasible in the modern digital design due to many reasons such as slower data rate, increasing information, circuit hazards, uncountable hold-up etc. Therefore it is requisite for the modern digital design to have modified architecture to meet the required goal. We will recommend here modified scrambler design which is perfectly suitable for any industrial design
Modelling the predictors and outcomes of brand experience: evidence from the chained fast food brand / Rozita Naina Mohamed
In today’s overcrowded and highly competitive marketplace, ‘Brand Experience’ (BE) can be the most privileged tool for differentiation. Customer’s feeling, emotion and interactions will contribute to the overall perception of the brand experience. Undoubtedly, it is critical to gain insights into the key drivers of ‘brand experience’ and subsequently ascertain its outcomes in order to design effective marketing strategies for market growth and perhaps business sustainability. The principal aim was to develop an integrative novelty model of brand experience and examine the predictors and outcomes of brand experiences of the four most prominent fast food brand share in Malaysia namely, Mc Donald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Marrybrown and A & W. The study applies SOR Model (Mehrabian-Russell, 1974), and other related branding models to a sample of 450 adult respondents who reside in chosen urban areas in Malaysia
Venture capital and post-IPO company performance: Evidence in Malaysia
This study examines post IPO company performance of venture capital-backed and nonventure capital-backed companies for IPOs listed on the MAIN and ACE markets during
the years 2006 to 2009. This study also examines the effect of venture capital variables and other control variables on post-IPO company performance. Out of 103 companies listed during the years 2006-2009, only 77 companies were selected as the sample for this study. Moreover, only 15 IPOs are backed by venture capital while the remaining 62 IPOs are non-venture backed. The descriptive statistics show that in the post-IPO period, the performance of venture-backed companies does not exhibit better performance compared to non-venture backed companies. This result contradicts the prior literature that states that venturebacked IPOs do outperform non-venture backed IPOs. Moreover, the long run post-IPO company performance shows a significant decline relative to the pre-IPO period. In addition, the venture capital age and company size are positively correlated with the post-IPO company performance. Meanwhile, venture capital dummy, percentage change in
venture capital ownership, company age and market capitalization show a negative correlation with the post-IPO company performance for MAIN and ACE markets in Malaysia
