    On the best Hardy constant for quasi-arithmetic means and homogeneous deviation means

    The aim of this paper is to characterize the so-called Hardy means, i.e., those means M ⁣:n=1R+nR+M\colon\bigcup_{n=1}^\infty \mathbb{R}_+^n\to\mathbb{R}_+ that satisfy the inequality n=1M(x1,,xn)Cn=1xn \sum_{n=1}^\infty M(x_1,\dots,x_n) \le C\sum_{n=1}^\infty x_n for all positive sequences (xn)(x_n) with some finite positive constant CC. The smallest constant CC satisfying this property is called the Hardy constant of the mean MM.     We calculate the regional fractional Laplacian on some power function on an interval. As an application, we prove Hardy inequality with an extra term for the fractional Laplacian on the interval with the optimal constant. As a result, we obtain the fractional Hardy inequality with best constant and an extra lower-order term for general domains, following the method developed by M. Loss and C.     The effect of storage of dry heat treated Teflon ribbons under nitrogen gas followed by high vacuum on the recovery of hardy organisms from the ribbons was studied. A similar experiment was performed on spore crops of hardy organisms recovered previously from Cape Canaveral. Hardy organisms have been inoculated onto slides and subjected to an artificial Martian environment in an attempt to demonstrate their growth in this environment. Additional experiments using the artificial Martian environment include response of soil samples from the VAB with both constant temperature and freeze-thaw cycles. These experiments were performed with dried soil and soil containing added water. Other investigations included the effect of heatshock on soil samples, psychrophilic counts of new soil samples from the manufacture area of the Viking spacecraft, effect of pour plate versus spread plate on psychrophilic counts, and preparation of spore crops of hardy organisms from Cape Canaveral

    Polyanalytic Hardy decomposition of higher order Lipschitz functions

    This paper is concerned with the problem of decomposing a higher order Lipschitz function on a closed Jordan curve Γ\Gamma into a sum of two polyanalytic functions in each open domain defined by Γ\Gamma. Our basic tools are the Hardy projections related to a singular integral operator arising in polyanalytic function theory, which, as it is proved here, represents an involution operator on the higher order Lipschitz classes. Our result generalizes the classical Hardy decomposition of Holder continuous functions on the boundary of a domain
