Introduction This study succeeds the 2007 project on &ampquotDevelopment of KRIVET Occupation Prospect Index&amp. The main objective of the 2007 study was to complete development the Occupation Prospect Index about 152 jobs from manufacturing and construction industries. In addition to last year's survey, we have carried out a survey about 165 jobs from management occupations, buisiness and financial operations occupations, social service occupations, sales, personal care and service occupations, farming, fishing, and forestry occupations in this year. The purpose of this study is to afford a credible Occupation Prospect Index of 317 jobs in the whole occupations synthetically and make it public so as to broaden the understanding of individuals about the world of occupations and thereby support rational career planning. Also, it aims to strengthen the linkage between school and work, and support the government's HRD policy. KRIVET Occupation Prospect Index consists of seven evaluation areas and 23 detailed items as follows: โ‘  compensation - earnings and benefits โ‘กemployment conditions - job creation, job growth, and job competition โ‘ขemployment stability - full-time employment and job retention โ‘ฃcareer growth prospects - self-development, promotion, and possibility of job change โ‘คworking conditions - working hours, physical environment, stress โ‘ฅprofessionalism - expert knowledge, autonomy, authority, social reputation, community service, and spirit of calling โ‘ฆemployment equality - gender equality, elder-friendliness. First of all, we have constructed a database of 17,517 occupation experts using various ways and developed an on-line survey system. Survey period was from 9 May to 20 June, 2008 and, finally, we received 4,950 responses from 1,082 occupation experts for 165 occupations surveyed this year. They responded to these items for maximum of 10 jobs among 165 jobs which were from management occupations, buisiness and financial operations occupations, social service occupations, sales, personal care and service occupations, farming, fishing, and forestry occupations. They have evaluated 23 detailed items for each job of their choice for present and 10 years later from now. 2. Main Findings The Occupation Prospect Index(2008) was compiled for the 317 jobs based on occupation experts' responses on 23 detailed survey items. The main results will be presented in three distinguishing time horizons, namely, present, 10 years time, and the difference between the two points in time. First, according to the Occupation Prospect Index(2008) for the present, buisiness and financial operations occupations showed the highest prospects, followed by management occupations, social service occupations in KECO major group. As looking into the comprehensive Occupation Prospect Index in KECO minor group, finance and insurance related occupations showed the highest prospects, followed by lawใ†policeใ†correction related occupations, IT related occupations, management occupations, businessใ†financeใ†office work related occupations. Second, according to the Occupation Prospect Index(2008) for the 10 years time, the occupations with the highest prospects are buisiness and financial operations ones, followed by management occupations, social service occupations in KECO major group. As looking into the comprehensive Occupation Prospect Index(2008) in KECO minor group, finance and insurance related occupations showed the highest prospects, followed by food service related occupations, businessใ†financeใ†office work related occupations, management occupations, food processing related occupations. Third, the analysis of the change in Occupation Prospect Index(2008) for 10 years time showed a significant structural change in the world of occupations. Occupation Prospect Index for present and 10 years later from now had a high correlation. It was meant that the structure in the world of occupations for present was keep up for 10 years later from now. Prospective occupations both now and in the future included businessใ†financeใ†office work related occupations(experts in human resource and industrial relations, management consultants, etc.), finance and insurance related occupations(investment and credit analyst, financial consultant and fund manager, etc), health and medical service related occupations(doctor, oriental doctor, etc), engineers in various fields(mechanical/materials /chemical/electronic engineering). Occupations with weakening occupation prospects both now and in the future included construction related occupations, such as steel worker, concrete worker, cement masons and concrete finisher, brickmason, plasterer, paperhanger, coal miner, stonemason, construction and mining related worker, driving and transportation related occupations, business and sales related occupations, guard and cleaning related occupations, sewing machine operator, flour milling and polishing related occupations, production worker, packer and packager, farming, fishing, and forestry related occupations(agricultural crop cultivator, fisher and woman diver). 3. Policy Implications Policy implications of the above analysis are as follows. First, it is necessary to raise a recognition about engineers and craftsmen and strengthen career education. Second, it is important to raise a recognition about financial operation, management and social service occupations and cultivate professional manpower in that areas. Third, more various occupations will be good occupations for each occupation prospect area in the future occupational world. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen career education that adolescents could form the flexible occupational view. Fourth, it is required that many jobs will increase to utilize the idle labor force. Introduction The unemployment ratio among the rising generation and the anxiety of the insecurity of their occupations among the elderly are being aggravated along with the increase of the ratio of casual workers(non-regular workers), to be faced with the worldwide economic crisis. The nation needs the information for more secure occupations, promising occupations in the future's work world that are unpredictable, as the employment quality is growing worse. For this reason, to develop a path for the nation, we are willing to provide an output of Occupation Prospect Index that will strengthen the relationship between the education world and the work world, which is an important data for the subject of the economy to encounter the changes of the work world more actively and effectively. The following is our research method. First, the comparative analysis of the actual statistical data of the 2007-2008 KRIVET Occupation Prospect Index result. The second is to analyze the national and international studies and statistical data that are related with the evaluation field and item details of the Occupation Prospect Index. Third, the specialist survey for additive computation of the evaluation field and item details of the index along with the Occupation Prospect Index survey after 2007, of the occupations that belong to the major industries of manufacture, construction, science and engineering. Then, the fourth is to calculate each indexes based on synthesis prospect index and field prospect index to find out promising occupations or promising occupations for the aged/woman. Then, finally based on the research of all the above, we will present a long term strategic plan and policy implication of the Occupation Prospect Index henceforth. Based on the basic research of 2006, we consists of category of Occupation Prospect Index. For Occupation Prospect Index's computation of the weight, we research into Delphi-survey of 58 specialist and Occupation Prospect Index consists of seven evaluation items as follows : โ‘ compensation - earnings and benefits โ‘กemployment conditions - job creation, job growth, and job competition โ‘ขemployment stability - full-time employment and job retention โ‘ฃcareer growth prospects - self-development, promotion, and possibility of job change โ‘คworking conditions - working hours, physical environment, stress โ‘ฅprofessionalism - expert knowledge, autonomy, authority, social reputation, community service, and spirit of calling โ‘ฆemployment equality - gender equality, elder-friendliness. Finally, 140 among 152 jobs(excepting 12 jobs) of the manufacturing and construction industries fields's low group carried out the survey.

Intelligent information technology is combined with various industries, and it is expected that new jobs in the new industry will be created and atypical employment such as platform-based service workers will be expanded. Although research and policy discussions on the direction and role of vocational education for intelligent information society were conducted, research and discussion on the improvement of career education system due to vocational education change are insufficient. In particular, the graduates of specialized vocational high schools(SVHS) are more likely to be exposed to the threat of job loss in the intelligence information society than the higher educated ones, so research on the career education system at the secondary vocational education level is more urgently needed. Chapter 1 outlines the background, content and research methodology of the study as an overview. In The purpose of this study is to analyze the present situation, problems and requirements of the career education system in the specialized high school for the intelligent information society and to suggest ways to improve the future oriented career education system. The contents of the study are as follows. First, the concept of intelligence information society, the changes and trends of secondary vocational education institutions, and the factors affecting secondary vocational education required in intelligent information society were examined. Second, we analyzed the current status of SVHS / meister high school (MHS) and analyzed the characteristics of students' career education system. Third, we analyzed the perception of changes in secondary vocational education for SVHS/MHS teachers and students according to the arrival of intelligence information society. We analyzed the problems and improvement requirements of the SVHS/MHS career education system for career guidance teachers, job support teachers and students. Fourth, the cases of career education system in Korea and the cases of overseas vocational career education system in Germany were analyzed. Fifth, the policy of improvement of career education system of secondary vocational education institutions in national and social perspectives in preparation for intelligence information society was suggested. In this study, research methods such as literature research, in-depth focus group interviews (FGI), questionnaires, overseas business trips, expert conference, and seminars were conducted to achieve the objectives of the study. ...
