[์˜๋ฌธ] Medical records are being used as basic information for patient care, medical research, and the reference of medicolegal problem. They are, therefore, are recognized to be important and being stored for many years. Most of hospitals, however, have been encountering problems to store those records mainly because of lack of storage space. The purpose of this study, therefore, was to identify the factors determining the differences of residual affinity of medical records by year under the hypothesis that the residual affinity of records would decrease by progress of year. 3.649 patients firstly admitted to and discharged from H university hospital for the year, 1974 were studied. X**2 -test and stepwise multiple regression were used to test the relationships among multiple factors in relation with residual affinity of medical records. The major findings were summarized below: 1. Residual affinity of medical records by progress of year decreased below 1.0% after one year and below 0.4% after five years from first admission. Those were common temdency among all departments except the department of obstetrics. 2. Department of the hospital admitted was identified as the most important factor. Departments of Neuropsychiatry, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, and Internal Medicine were among those significantly associated with the high residual affinity. 3. The disease entity of the first and second admissions was related to high affinity. 4. Residual affinity was strongly related with cases of longer hospital stay and farther residential location. 5. Residual affinity was significnatly related with cases being operated.restrictio

A Trend Analysis of Individual TEPS Scores

A survey was conducted by Korean Gallup and Marketing Research Korea on the test takers who took the first TEPS exam administered on January 31, 1999. The results indicated a strong consensus among English teachers and test-takers as to the validity of the test method facets of the TEPS exam. There are, however, some who feel that the TEPS exam does not yield reliable results. In order to investigate the extent to which such claims hold true, the present study attempts to conduct a systematic trend analysis based on the test-takers' performances. The study identifies those test-takers who took the TEPS more than twice within a two year period (1999-2000), and explored the fluctuation pattern, if any, of the test-takers' performances while taking into account their ability level, gender, and age
