An Investigation of the Factor Structure of the Career Guidance Efficacy Scale

이 연구는 고등학생 자녀를 둔 부모의 자녀 진로지도효능감 척도(유정이, 2009)의 요인구조를 탐색하고자 하였으며, 부모와 자녀의 특성변인에 따른 진로지도효능감의 차이를 밝히고자 하였다. 연구대상은 전국에서 표집된 고등학생 자녀를 둔 어머니 1,548명이었다. 연구 결과, 부모의 자녀 진로지도효능감 요인으로 32문항의 7요인이 확인되었으며, 상위요인으로 ‘지지’(하위요인으로는 적극적인 진로지원, 자녀에 대한 수용과 격려, 진로교육 경험, 자녀에게 자율과 책임을 부여)요인과 ‘조절’(하위요인으로는 부정적 정서 경험, 배우자의 관여, 자녀특성의 인식)요인이 확인되었다. 척도의 신뢰도 검증을 위해서 내적합치도와 재검사 신뢰도를 산출하였고, 구인타당도 검증을 위해 확인적 요인분석을 수행하였다. 진로지도효능감은 거주 지역에 따른 차이는 없었으며, 어머니의 학력이 높을수록, 자녀의 학년이 낮을수록 높게나타났다. 연령별로는 40대 부모의 자녀 진로지도효능감이 다른 연령의 부모보다 높았다.The purpose of this study is to investigate the factor structure of the career guidance efficacy scale (Ryu Jeongyi. 2009) of the parents of high school students. We also attempted to reveal the differences in career guidance efficacy according to the characteristic variables of the children and the parents. A total of 1,548 parents of high school students across Korea were surveyed. The study identified 7 factors represented by 32 items regarding career guidance efficacy. The 7 factors can be categorized into 2 higher factors for career guidance efficacy: "support" (sub-factors: active career support, acceptance and encouragement for children, career education experience, and giving autonomy and responsibility to children) and "regulation" (sub-factors: negative emotional experience, the spouse's involvement, and awareness of child characteristics). In order to verify the reliability of the scale, internal consistency and retest reliability were used and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to measure construct validity. There was no correlation between career guidance efficacy and where the participants live. However, career guidance efficacy is greater when the mother's education level is high and when the children are in lower grades. By age, career guidance efficacy of parents in their forties was higher than that of any other age group

The Development and Validation of the Parent-Efficacy of Career Guidance for Youth Scale

본 연구는 청소년 부모의 자녀 진로지도효능감의 구인을 밝히고 이를 측정할 수 있는 척도를 개발하였다. 부모의 자녀 진로지도효능감은 자녀의 진로발달과 선택을 위해 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있는 부모자신의 능력과 상황에 대한 인식과 평가라고 정의할 수 있다. 이를 위해 서울·경기지역에 있는 중·고등학생 부모 20명을 선발하여 면접조사 하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 예비조사를 위한 136문항을 서울·경기지역 중·고등학생 부모 97명을 대상으로 분석하였다. 마지막으로 본 조사를 위해서 519명의 설문을 최종 분석하였다. 연구결과, 부모의 자녀 진로지도효능감 하위요인으로 7요인(적극적인 진로 지원, 자녀에 대한 수용과 격려, 부정적 정서 경험, 진로교육 경험, 배우자의 관여, 자녀특성의 인식, 자녀에게 자율과 책임을 부여)과 32문항을 선정하였다. 최종척도의 신뢰도 검증을 위해서 내적합치도와 재검사 신뢰도를 산출하였고, 구인타당도 검증을 위해 확인적 요인분석을 수행하였으며, 준거관련 타당도 검증을 위하여 자아효능감, 부모효능감, 부모역할 수행척도와의 상관을 검토하였다. 본 척도는 현 교육시스템 내에서 부모들의 진로지도에서의 경험을 바탕으로 개발되었기 때문에 국내의 교육현실을 잘 반영하고 있다는 점에서 유용성이 있으며, 향후 지속적인 타당화 과정이 필요할 것으로 논의하였다. The purpose of this study is to develope the parent-efficacy of career guidance for youth scale. To measure parent-efficacy of career guidance for youth, in the process, 20 parents were interviewed and the interview data were analysed to extract basic items. 54 items were selected and modified from 136 items sampled from literatures and the interview data. This was done through psychologists and statistician's judgement along with interview and cognitive tests for 2 parents for content validity. Item analysis and factor analysis were conducted, the factor analysis revealed 32 items loaded high on 7 factors confirming the scales construct validity. These 7 factors of the parenting self -efficacy of career guidance were : active support on career development(8 items), acceptance and encouragement(6 items), negative experience(6 items), career education experience(3 items), gaining spouse's support(3 items), awareness of children's character(3 items), teaching children self-regulation and accountability(3 items). The results of the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed these sub-scales. Correlation coefficients between the self-efficacy scale, the parents self- efficacy scale, and the performance of parenting scale, were examined to provided an evidence of criterion -related validity of the scale. the results lend a support to the parent-efficacy of career guidance scale as a valid instrument

Effect Factors of School Counseling conceived by School Counselors

본 연구는 초·중·고등학교에 배치된 학교상담자들의 관점에서 상담성과를 내는 효과요인이 무엇인지 탐색적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 학교상담경력이 1년 이상인 초·중·고등학교의 학교상담자 14인을 대상으로 세 그룹에서 각 1회씩 총 3회에 걸쳐 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 자료 분석을 위해 3인의 공동연구자가 연구의 기획단계에서부터 자료 분석 과정에 이르기까지 수차례 연구회의를 진행하였다. 연구결과 학교상담의 효과요인으로 4개의 영역, 27개의 범주, 65개의 개념이 도출되었다. 4개의 영역은 상담자요인, 내담자요인, 상담자-내담자 관계요인, 그리고 주변 환경 활용 요인으로 나타났다. 상담자요인으로는, 내담자를 존중하고 따뜻하게 대함, 경청하고 수용함, 감정을 충분히 드러내게 함, 쉬운 말로 간결하게 설명함, 개인상담으로 발전시킴, 문제해결에 초점을 맞춰 진행함, 자기 자신을 이해하도록 함 등이 효과요인으로 추출되었다. 내담자요인으로는 인지능력과 상담동기가 높음, 상담에서의 긍정적 경험, 그리고 일상생활에서의 긍정적인 경험 등으로 나타났다. 상담자-내담자 관계요인으로는 안전하고 든든한 관계를 형성함, 낙인을 방지함, 그리고 평소 자연스러운 관계를 맺음이 학교상담의 효과요인으로 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로 학교상담에서 주변 환경을 활용하여 상담의 효과를 발휘하게 하는 요인으로는 담임교사와 학부모의 상담과 협조, 관련학생들 중재, 또래상담을 활용함, 적절한 외부기관으로 의뢰함, 학교 내 사례회의를 운영함, 그리고 전학교적 접근을 활용함으로 요약되었다. 연구의 시사점과 한계점에 대해 논의하였다.The purpose of the study is to investigate effect factors of school counseling conceived by school counselors. Fourteen school counselors from elementary, middle and high schools were interviewed divided into three different groups. Three researchers were involved in research design and data analysis. As results of the study, 4 domains (counselors, clients, relationship between counselors and clients, and utilizing context), 27 categories, and 65 concepts of effect factors were derived. As effect factors of counselors, respect and warm heart toward clients, listening and accepting, making clients reveal their emotion, explaining with simple and easy words, develop into personal counseling, focusing on problem solving, and making them understand themselves were derived. As clients, high cognitive ability and motivation and positive experience of counseling and ordinary life were derived. As relationship between counselors and clients, making safe and good relationship, preventing tagging, and having natural relationship in usual life were derived. As utilizing context, counseling and cooperation of teachers and parents, mediation of related students, executing peer counseling, referring to proper institutions, executing case meeting in school, and utilizing whole-school approach were derived. Implications and limitations of the study are discussed

Psychological Characteristics of Children at High-Risk of Internet Addiction

인터넷 중독에 관한 기존의 대부분의 연구들이 중, 고등학생 청소년 집단을 대상으로 하였던 것에 비해 본 연구는 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 아동들을 대상으로 하여, 인터넷 중독 위험성이 높은 집단과 중독 위험성이 낮은 집단간의 심리적 증상의 차이를 탐구하였다. 연구의 결과, 인터넷 중독 위험성이 높은 집단이 중독 위험성이 낮은 집단에 비해 자아개념이 낮고, 불안이나 우울, 분노를 많이 느끼며, 부적응 행동이나 비행을 보일 가능성과 공격적인 성향이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 제한점과 함께 향후 연구 방안이 논의되었다. This study examined psychological characteristics of children at high-risk of internet addiction. In the present study, we examined how internet addiction influence on the level of psychological symptom and self-esteem in elementary school student. The sample in the current study consisted of 196 elementary school students, whereas most of previous studies utilized samples of adolescents attending middle- or high-schools. The internet addiction was assessed by Internet addiction Inventory(Young, 1996), Psychological symptom and self-esteem was measured by the Beck youth Inventory(Beck,2001), CBCL, SCL-90-R. The results indicated that children at high-risk of internet addiction showed lower self-concept, felt more anxious, depressed, and angry, and were more likely to show disruptive behavior and aggressive tendency compared to children at low-risk of internet addiction. Finally limitations of this study and future research directions were discussed

The Cultural Validation of Korean Version of GRCS(K-GRCS)

본 연구는 O'Neil 등(1986)이 개발한 성역할 갈등 척도(GRCS)를 번역한 한국어 성역할 갈등 척도(K-GRCS)의 타당화를 위하여 수행되었다. 한국의 남자 대학생 156명에게 K-GRCS, 한국형 성 역할 검사(김영희, 1988), 그리고 남성 성역할 스트레스 척도(윤진, 최정훈, 김영미, 1989)가 주어졌고 여자 대학생 168명에게는 각 문항의 남성이란 단어를 여성으로 바꾼 K-GRCS 가 주어졌다. 요인 분석을 통해 K-GRCS은 3개의 요인을 가진 것으로 나타났고 이는 O'Neil 등(1986)의 연구에서 나타난 GRCS의 4요인 구조와는 차이를 보였다. 각 문항의 남녀간 평균점을 비교한 결과 일부 문항은 남성보다는 여성의 성역할 갈등을 나타내는 것으로 드러났다. 기존의 한국형 성역할 척도들과의 상관 관계는 K-GRCS가 남성성의 부정적 영역을 반영함을 나타냈다. 이와 같은 결과들은 잠정적으로 K-GRCS가 남성성의 한 측면을 나타내는 한 척도로서 사용될 수 있으며, O'Neil 등(1986)이 제안한 4개의 요인에 따른 해석은 유보할 것을 제안하고 있다. The purpose of this study was to translate Gender Role Conflict Scale(GRCS) and to examine the cultural validity of Korean version of GRCS(K-GRCS). In 1986 O'Neil, Helms, Gable, David, and Wrightsman developed Gender Role Conflict Scale that assesses mes's problems with their gender role socialization. They found the construct of gender role conflict consists of four different factors; Success, Power, and Competition(SPC), Restrictive Emotionality(RE), Restricted and Affectionate Behavior Between Men(RABBM), and Conflict Between Work and Family Relations(CBWFR). These four factors served as factor targents in principal components analyis of K-GRSC obtained from 158 Korean college men. The difference between men and women was examined through 168 female samples. The result suggest three-factor structure fitted better and called the further examination of cultural validity of gender role conflict in the future. The comparison with Korean Sex Role Inventory(K-SRI), and Korean Gender Role Stress Scale for Men prove the gender role conflict is the salient and distinct psychological construct of men. The implications for research and practice are noted

Career Aspirations and Perceptions of Korea Undergraduates

본 연구는 대학생의 직업에 대한 포부 그리고 직업인식의 내용을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. Gottfredson(1981, 1996)에 따르면 사람들이 공통적으로 가지는 직업의 이미지가 있으며 그것은 비교적 인생의 초기단계에 형성된다. 이는 두 개의 축(dimension), 즉 직업의성별 유형과사회적 지위로 구성되는 직업인지지도에 의해 확인되고, Lapan과 Jingeleski(1992)는 미국의 고등학생을 대상으로 하여 위의 이론을 검증한 바 있다. 그러나 한국에서 수행된 선행연구(유정이, 김지현, 황매향, 2002; 황매향, 김지현, 유정이, 2003)에서는 초등학생, 중학생, 고등학생 모두 직업세계에 대한 인식이 현실을 잘 반영하기 보다는 혼란한 상태임이 발견되었다. 본 연구는 직업포부 및 직업인식의 발달이 지연되고 있는 것은 아닌가라는 질문을 가지고 대학생들의 직업포부 및 직업인식의 내용을 확인해 본 것이다. 그 결과, 각 직업영역에 대한 포부수준은 남학생들은 보다 남성적인 직업에서 높은 포부수준을 보이고, 여학생들은 보다 여성적인 직업에서 높은 포부수준을 보였다. 그리고 직업의 성별유형 및 직업의 사회적 지위에 근거하여 작성한 직업인지지도에서 직업의 성별유형 및 직업의 사회적 지위에 대해 현실감있는 지각을 가지고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. The purpose of this study was to explore the career development of Korean adolescents by examining 208 college students'(127 male students and 81 female students from three different universities) career aspiration, the orientation to occupational sex role, and the orientation to prestige of occupations. Korean college students were expected to have the cognitive occupational map which is congruent with the Korean Job Map based on the 2001 Korean labor market. The responses of 208 Korean students inform the sex difference in the career aspiration. Boys have higher aspirations than girls in Realistic and Investigative occupations while girls have higher aspirations than boys in Social occupations in terms of Holland occupational types. The two-dimensional occupational map(Sex type by Prestige level) suggests a) Korea undergraduates have similar images of sex type of occupations with the Korean Job Map and b) they have similar images of the prestige level of occupations with the Korean Job Map. The uniqueness of Korean adolescents' career development and the cultural validity of Gottfredson's career development theory are discussed based on this research result and the previous research findings
