[์˜๋ฌธ] The purpose of this study was to investigate the kinds of aggressive behavior experienced by nurses caring for patients with dementia and low nurses manage these behaviors. The study design was a descriptive survey. The research participants were 77 nurses randomly selected from the nursing staff of three hospitals for elderly people located in Kyonggi Province. The Research Tools were the Ryden Aggression Scale (Ryden, 1988) which measures aggressive behaviors in patients with dementia and a 13 item tool developed by the researcher to measure management. Data were collected from April 1. 2002. to April 30. 2002 and analyzed using the descriptive statistics; frequencies, percentages and x2 -test, which were done with the SPSS/PC program. The result of the study are as follows; 1. The most frequent aggressive behaviors experienced by the participants while caring for patients with dementia were, 'hitting/punching', 'cursing/obscene/vulgar language', and 'touching body parts of another person'. 2. Aggressive behavior in patients with dementia was most frequently managed with 'language discussion', 'limitation of behavior', and 'physical restraint'. 3. Participants with more than 5 years of nursing experience had significantly higher scores for using 'language discussion' when patients 'made threatening gestures' (x2=8.724, p=0.041). Participants with less than 1 year of nursing experience had significantly higher scores for using 'limitation of behavior' when patients 'touched body parts of another person' (x2=11.505, p=0.009).ope

[์˜๋ฌธ]The purpose of this study were to examine the pay level of hospital nurses, the determinant factors on the level of pay, the pay system and the form of payment. The theoretical framework was set upon the Choi''s model of pay structure and pay management in order to achieve the purpose of this study. This study performed secondary analysis on the existing data and employed a descriptive correlational design and a case study design. Data were collected from May 1, 2005 to September 30, 2005. Analysis of the results was carried out using SPSS win 12.0 program for frequency, t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis.Main findings of this study were summarized as follows.1. An average pay per month of nurses was ๏ฟฆ1,319,000 in 2000, ๏ฟฆ1,424,000 in 2001, ๏ฟฆ1,541,000 in 2002, ๏ฟฆ1,658,000 in 2003, ๏ฟฆ1,714,000 in 2004. An average pay per month of nurses who has worked for 3 years was ๏ฟฆ1,454,000 in 2000, ๏ฟฆ1,553,000 in 2001, ๏ฟฆ1,668,000 in 2002, ๏ฟฆ1,764,000 in 2003, ๏ฟฆ1,828,000 in 2004.2. For the determinant factors on the level of nurse''s pay, The R2 for this whole regression model was .72, indicating that approximately 72% of the variance in pay level of the nurses was accounted for by the linear combination of these three independent variables, the size of hospitals, the characteristics of a fund, and nursing delivery system.3. All hospitals did have pay steps considering the seniority rule. Each hospital had a variety types of an allowances, the criteria of the payment, and the bonus. The majority of payment form was a monthly pay. 4. Several suggestions could be drawn from this study.The pay level of hospital nurses should∙reflect market pay and pay practice.∙be set up according th the value of duty, performance, and expertness.∙be clear and lucid.Pay is a major function of human resource management and is compensation for the labour of nurses and is a motive to nurses.
