[์˜๋ฌธ] The main purpose of this study is to examine science and management the status of the weaning pattern of infants๏ผ‡ feeding. Data have been gathered from the mothers of infants who visited to two university affiliated hospitals in Seoul and one university affiliated hospital in Pucheon City. Data collection was done from Oct. 21 1997 to Nov. 3 1997 from the mothers of infants aging 6 months to 18 months excluding the infants with the chronic or congenital disease. The 30 item questionnaire was used to collect the data and the reliability was ฮณ= 0.82. The final data analysis was done with 202 completed questionnaire using SAS program. The results are following. 1. Before the weaning, more mothers are using the commercial milk than the breast milk. More mothers with higher education and with jobs are feeding their infants with commercial milk than their counterpants. 2. Mothers get then knowledge of the weaning from the infants care book or cook books(36.6%). The main reason of weaning was to improve their infants nutritional status(96.5%). 3. More mothers start to weaning when the infants turn to 4โˆผ6 months of age (66.3%). 4. More mothers(55.5%) start weaning by using homemade liquid rice soup, and more mothers(62.4%) are feeding foods with spoon. 5. The time of completing the weaning was in 12โˆผ18 months(61.9%). According to therse findings, it is urgent for nurses to develop parent education program on infants nutrition and implements in many health care selfings.restrictio
