Morphology Midpoint Filter 와 3D Median Filter 를 이용한 DT-MRI Regularization 에 관한 연구

Dept. of Biomedical Engineering/석사자기공명확산텐서영상(magnetic resonance diffusion tensor image, MR-DTI)으로부터 얻어진 확산텐서는 잡음에 민감하여 정확하지 않은 값을 가질 수 있기 때문에 PEV(principle eigenvector)의 필드에도 잡음이 포함 되기 쉽다. 신경다발추적결과는 이처럼 잡음에 매우 민감한 PEV로부터 얻어지기 때문에 실제 신경다발의 방향에서 크게 벗어날 수 있다. 따라서 잡음을 제거하기 위한 정규화(regularization) 과정이 필요하다.본 연구에서는 Mathematical Morphology 방법을 텐서 영역으로 확장하여 데이터를 정규화하기 위한 방법을 제시 하였고, 기존에 사용되던 중간값 필터(median filter)를 3차원으로 확장 하여 이를 구현하기 위한 알고리즘을 제시하였다. Morphology 방법을 통한 텐서 데이터 정규화를 위해 중간점 필터(mid-point filter)를 사용하였다. 중간점 필터를 구현하는 방법에는, 화소 주변 텐서 값 중의 하나로 중간점 (mid-point)를 근사화 하는 Midrange 방법과, Matrix Ordering을 통한 형태학적 필터(Morphological filter)를 이용하여 중간점을 찾는 방법이 사용 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 텐서 데이터에 대한 중간점 필터(mid-point filter)를 구현하는 방법으로, Tensor의 불변식(invariants)을 이용한 Matrix Ordering 방법을 제시하고, 이를 이용한 형태학적 필터를 구현하였다. 불변식(invariants) 이용한 방법은 텐서의 구조적(Geometrical)특성에 따라 Order를 정하는 방법이다. 또, 중간값 필터를 구하기 위해 기존에 발표된 심플 미디언 필터와 페르마 필터를 3D로 확장하였다. 이 방법을 이용하여 주 고유벡터가 45°by45°인 합성영상과 피질척수로(corticospinal tract)에 필터를 취했고 그 결과 본 연구에서 제안한 invariants 방법의 효과를 검증 하였고, 2D방법 보다 3D 방법의 우수함을 보였다.restrictio
