[영문] The purpose of this study is to identify the perception on father's role and variables influence on the perception on father's role of adolescents having military father. The subjects for this study were 172 students who having military father from Y high school located in Non-san, Choong-nam. The Research instruments composed of total 48 questionnaire - 11 Questions for the general characteristics of subjects, 35 questions to measure the perception on father's role and 3 open question. The perception of father's role scale was originally from Gillvert and Hanson's perception of paternal role scale(1983), It was translated and modified in consideration of adolescents by Kim Youn-Kyoung(1992) and I used this instrument after modification and pre-inspection. Data for this study were collected from October, 25, 1999 to October, 27, 1999. Collected data were analyzed using Frequencies, Mean, Standard deviation, t-test, One-way Anova, Two-way Anova, and MANOVA with SPSS/WINDOW program. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1) The perception on father's role of adolescents having military father got the average point 3.62, considered positive on the whole. In comparing the degrees of perception on father's role from a subareal point of view, the role in educate social rule and sense of value considered most positive and the role in sex education considered most negative. 2) About the good effect from their father during their time of growing, the adolescents having military father thought sincerity, responsibility, and honesty were the best influence from their father 3) There was deference between male students and female what they thought they expected father's role but insufficient. Male students perceived pocket money and father's understanding of them. Female students perceived father's care to family and respect of their opinion 4) The adolescents having military father got the positive model of future parents role image from their fathers, and they hoped to be parents who strict but sometimes generous, who talk a lot with their children just like their friend, who understand their child, and who care and love to their child. 5) Variables which were influenced the perception on father's role of adolescents having military father were gender of adolescents, family religion, educational level of father, whether they live with their father, whether they live with their mother(P<0.05), and degree of role of their mother(P<0.01). Namely, they recognized their father's role more positive when it is female student than male, when they live apart with their fathers, when they live with their mothers, and when recognize their mother's role more positive. 6) The result of MANOVA to verify the significant variable related to the perception on father's role of adolescents having military father showed that the mother's role got the most significant. Namely in the military family, we can know, the mother's role great influence on the father's role performance. So with those factors, we need to develop the way that improve the father's role performance.ope
