    どうしたら伝わる生物多様性 生物多様性理解促進のためのパンフレットを作成する皆様へ

    地球環境関西フォーラムは、1990年6月、地球環境問題は人間活動の根源にかかわる課 題であり、科学技術、政治、経済、社会意識、更には生活様式の変革を含む幅広い問題と して、産官学民が力を合わせてこれに取組むべきとの認識から設立されました。これは、リ オ・デ・ジャネイロで開催された環境と開発に関する国連会議における「気候変動枠組条 約」の採択(1992年)に先立つものであり、関西という地域を基盤に、産官学民が一体と なって環境問題に取組むプラットフォームとして先駆的な存在でありました。生物多様性についても、1993年に「森林と生物多様性」をキーワードとして「アジア、 太平洋地域における地球環境問題に対する関西の環境協力のあり方」についての調査研究 に取り組んで以来、「国際生物多様性科学研究計画西太平洋アジア国際ネットワーク(DIWPA)」などと連携しながら生物多様性に関する調査研究を進め、いくつかの提言を 発表するとともに、生物多様性の認知度向上とそれを市民・自治体・企業等の行動に結び つける活動を行ってきました。その中で様々な普及啓発パンフレットを作成し、生物多様 性の広報・教育・普及啓発(CEPA)に継続的に取り組んでまいりました。このように、設立以来20有余年に亘り、さまざまな環境課題に向き合い、解決の処方箋 を発信してきた地球環境関西フォーラムも、2018年5月を以て、解散することになりまし た。解散に際し、活動の集大成の一つとして、生物多様性の主流化の一助になればとの思 いから、「どうしたら伝わるのか」との視点で、既にさまざまな主体により発行された多種 多様なパンフレットの中から参考にしたい事例などを取りまとめ、本冊子を作成いたしま した。これから、生物多様性の理解促進を目的としたパンフレットなどを作成される皆さ まにお役に立てれば幸いです。 最後に、この冊子を作成するに当たり、パンフレットを送付いただいた方々のご協力に 感謝申し上げ、お礼とさせていただきます

    Systematic infrared 2.5-5 micron spectroscopy of nearby ultraluminous infrared galaxies with AKARI

    We report on the results of systematic infrared 2.5-5 micron spectroscopy of 45 nearby ultraluminous infrared galaxies (ULIRGs) at z < 0.3 using IRC onboard the AKARI satellite. This paper investigates whether the luminosities of these ULIRGs are dominated by starburst activity, or optically elusive buried AGNs are energetically important. Our criteria include the strengths of the 3.3 micron polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission features and the optical depths of absorption features at 3.1 micron due to ice-covered dust grains and at 3.4 micron from bare carbonaceous dust grains. Because of the AKARI IRC's spectroscopic capability in the full 2.5-5 micron wavelength range, unaffected by Earth's atmosphere, we can apply this energy diagnostic method to ULIRGs at z > 0.15. We estimate the intrinsic luminosities of extended (several kpc), modestly obscured (Av < 15 mag) starburst activity based on the 3.3 micron PAH emission luminosities measured in AKARI IRC slitless spectra, and confirm that such starbursts are energetically unimportant in nearby ULIRGs. In roughly half of the observed ULIRGs classified optically as non-Seyferts, we find signatures of luminous energy sources that produce no PAH emission and/or are more centrally concentrated than the surrounding dust. We interpret these energy sources as buried AGNs. The fraction of ULIRGs with detectable buried AGN signatures increases with increasing infrared luminosity. Our overall results support the scenario that luminous buried AGNs are important in many ULIRGs at z < 0.3 classified optically as non-Seyferts, and that the optical undetectability of such buried AGNs occurs merely because of a large amount of nuclear dust, which can make the sightline of even the lowest dust column density opaque to the ionizing radiation of the AGNs.Comment: 48 pages, 7 figures, accepted for publication in PASJ (AKARI special issue

    Treatment of advanced prostatic carcinoma with cis-diamminedichloroplatinum

    進行性前立腺癌20例にCis-Diamminedichloroplatinum (CDDP)を中心とした化学療法の近接効果を検討した.抗男性ホルモン療法非併用14例(6例のみ未治療新鮮例, 他13例はホルモン不応例)にCDDP 100~500 mg(平均208 mg)を静脈内投与11例, 動脈内投与1例, 両法併用2例に投与した.著効例はなく, 有効2例, やゝ有効7例, 無効5例であった.予後は生存例では7ヵ月が最長で, 極めて悪かった.さらに, 化学療法による良好な近接効果をうるための因子を検索し, また評価項目別に検討した.未治療のstage CまたはD例6例に去勢術, Diethylstilbestrol diphosphate, CDDP, IFM, ADMで100%の近接効果を得たChemotherapeutic effects of CDDP used as the main drug were studied in 20 patients with progressive prostatic cancer in stage C or D. On the average 208 mg of CDDP was given to the patients receiving chemotherapy without antiandrogen therapy (13 patients who showed resistance to hormone and an untreated new patient) and both ADM and IFM were also given to 3 of them. According to the criterion proposed by Shida and his coworkers, the chemotherapy without antiandrogen therapy was effective in 2 cases, relatively effective in 7 cases, and ineffective in 5 cases. The chemotherapy was effective for metastatic tumors of the lung in 2 out of 2 cases, but had no effect on tumors of the lymph node (1 case) and primary lesion of the tumors (14 cases). The chemotherapy improved acid phosphatase values in 5 out of 10 cases, alkaline phosphatase values in 3 out of 10 cases, dysuria in 4 out of 8 cases, nocturia in 1 out of 12 cases, residual urine in 5 out of 6 cases, lumbago in 6 out of 8 cases, and constitutional symptom in 6 out of 12 cases. The effect of the chemotherapy in combination with antiandrogen therapy was excellent in 4 and good in 2 of the 6 patients treated with castration + diethylstilbestrol diphosphate + CDDP + ADM +/- IFM. The chemotherapy with antiandrogen therapy had no effect on metastatic tumors of the bone (2 cases), but decreased the hardness and size of primary lesion in 6 out of 6 cases.     プレス加工によるアルミ缶蓋の成形過程最適化に関する研究

    金沢大学理工研究域機械工学系This paper proposes a new tooling system for forming end shells of aluminum beverage cans to improve panel wall thinning. Shell forming simulations are then performed to investigate the effective factors on forming quality using the finite element method. The structural optimization technoloygy based on numerical simulations is finally applied to search optimum design points of the new tooling system. Optimization results show that panel wall thinning of end shell can be improved 7.4% by the design optimization of forming processes and tool profiles in the new tooling system, as compared with the base line model of conventional tooling system. It is also confirmed that the end shell formed by the new tooling system has higher buckling strength under internal pressure
