Phoneme Recognition using Pulse Coupled Neural Networks with a Radial Basis Function

In this paper, we develop a novel pulse coupled neural network (PCNN) for phoneme recognition. One of advantages of the PCNN is in its biological-based neural dynamic structure using feedback connections. To recall the memorized pattern, a radial basis function (RBF) is incorporated into the proposed PCNN. Simulation results show that the PCNN with RBF can be useful for phoneme recognition

Field map-based rectification of susceptibility distortion and signal compensation in diffusion tensor imaging

目的采用基于体素的场图对磁共振弥散张量成像(diffusion-tensor; imaging,DTI)进行几何变形矫正及信号补偿研究,扩大DTI临床研究及应用价值。材料与方法获取29名健康人脑场图,分别对其DTI进行相位反; 卷积计算及信号校准补偿,将结果配准到3D结构图像。选择对磁场敏感的双侧颅底额叶和颞叶作为观察脑区,对磁场不敏感的丘脑作为对照脑区,对部分各向异性; (fractional; anisotropy,FA)值及信号的差异及其与结构像的形态差异进行统计分析。结果在颅底额叶和颞叶,DTI的磁敏感变形得到了矫正,因场不均性导致; 的信号损失得到了补偿。结论高场中DTI的畸变及体素信号丢失可应用场图的校准得到明显矫正,有利于进一步扩大高场DTI在临床中的应用价值。Objective: This study was designed to employ the voxel-based field map; to rectify the geometric deformation and compensate the signal loss of; diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and thus facilitate the studies and; clinical applications of DTI. Materials and Methods: Brain field maps; from 29 healthy persons were first used to get B1 field heterogeneous; signals, and then the compensation and phase disconsolation of signals; were performed. Finally, the geometry deformations of DTI were rectified; and registered to 3D images. Magnetic sensitive bilateral temporal lobes; and frontal lobes were selected as regions of interesting and meanwhile,; magnetic insensitive thalamus was selected as control area. Results:; Geometry deformations of DTI produced by different susceptibilities; between specific tissues were completely rectified, and thus the signal; loss was compensated and the accuracy of DTI was significantly enhanced.; Conclusion: Signal compensations and deformation rectifications can be; well achieved using field map, which may improve the applications of DTI; in neurosurgery.国家自然科学基金面上项

小学校におけるプログラミング教育実施のための教員支援方略についての考察

2020年度から実施される新学習指導要領では，小学校でプログラミング教育が必修化される．ここでは，「情報活用能力」の涵養を主旨として，「コンピュータ等を活用した学習活動の充実」「コンピュータでの文字入力等の習得，プログラミング的思考の育成」が求められているが，現況は準備はまだ十分進んでいないという調査研究報告もあることから，本研究では，小学校の具体的な現況を踏まえた解決方策を提案するために，兵庫県下の小学校においてプログラミング教育導入のための教員研修を実施し，教師の準備状況や意識を調査した．その結果，現場教員が準備に向けて様々な課題と不安を抱えていることが確認できた．このことを踏まえ，その解決方策として，既存の教育課程とプログラミング教育の教育目標を統合する授業デザイン手法を提案した．Under the new curriculum guidelines, which will be implemented from 2020, elementary schools will be required compulsory programming education. In this context,with the aim of promoting "information utilization skills (including programming education)", "enhancement of learning activities using computers etc. (in each subject)" and "acquisition of typing characters skills etc. and facilitation of programming thinking" will be expected at each school. However, there are research reports that the current situation is not yet fully prepared, so in this study, in order to propose a solution based on the specific current situation of elementary schools inHyogo Prefecture, a teacher training program for programming education was conducted at an elementary school in Japan, and a survey of teachers\u27 preparation and awareness revealed that some are still not ready.Based on this fact, we proposed a lesson design method that integrates the education content of the current course with programming education, and a plan for teacher training opportunities to master this

Giant testicular tumor: a case report

We report a case of giant testicular tumor. A 30-year-old man visited our department complaining of a painless swelling of the right scrotal contents. In chest X-ray and abdominal computerized tomography (CT) there were no abnormal findings. Serum alpha-fetoprotein, human chorionic gonadotropin and lactate dehydrogenase levels were normal. Right high orchiectomy was performed. The size of the removed specimen was 13.5 x 8.5 x 7.5 cm, and weight 530 g. The pathological diagnosis was immature teratoma. The patient has received no further therapy. There has been no recurrence for 7 months postoperatively

Feasibility Evaluation of the Statistical Delay Quality Model (SDQM)

遅延テストの品質評価には，遷移遅延故障モデルが広く用いられてきた．しかし，論理的な網羅性のみに着目しているため，微小な遅延欠陥の検出能力は明らかでなかった．そこで筆者らは微小な遅延欠陥の検出能力を，半導体製造プロセスの品質，設計の遅延変動に対するロバスト性，テストタイミング精度，及びテストパターンの論理的網羅性を総合的に反映して求める統計的遅延品質モデル（SDQM：statistical delay quality model）を提案し，本論文では，その大規模データに対するフィージビリティを評価した．商用のテスト生成ツールによるテストパターンを用いてSDQM の計算を行い，SDQMの計算の処理時間とメモリ量が適用可能なレベルであることを確認した．また，本モデルを用いたテストパターンの分析により，従来の遷移遅延故障モデルによるテストパターンは，長い論理パスが活性化されて初めて可能になる微小遅延欠陥の検出能力が十分でなく，アルゴリズム改良が必要なことを，定量的に示すことができた

Relationships Among Obesity, Physical Fitness and Exercising Habit in Healthy Adult Workers

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among obesity, physical fitness and exercising habit in 162 male and 18 female factory workers. Obesity was measured by body length, body weight, body fatness, and the waist to hip ratio (WHR). Physical fitness consisted of grip strength, standing trunk flexion, foot balance with closed eyes, vertical jump, whole body reaction time and breath holding time. Exercising habit was investigated with the questionnaire. A positive correlation was found between WHR and body fatness (male: r = 0.55, p<0.01, female: r = 0.74, p<0.01). The WHR of male was correlated with age (r = 0.61, p<0.01). There were partial correlation between WHR and the result of grip strength test (r = 0.16, p<0.05) and between WHR and the result of vertical jump test (r = -0.14, p<0.1) in male. The WHR of female was not correlated with the results of all 6 parameters of physical fitness. There was the only significant difference between exercising habit group and non exercising habit group in the result of vertical jump of female (p<0.05). On the other hand, there was no relationship between exercising habit group and non exercising habit group in WHR. The findings of this study could not solve sufficiently relationships among obesity, physical fitness and exercising habit. However, they suggest that obesity and exercising habit might affect the physical fitness, so that workers need more proper instructions about obesity, physical fitness and exercising habit to keep their good health
