Anthropological characteristics of sailorrs concerning different sailboat class
The aim of this paper was to determine the optimum ranges of body height and weight for sailors within eight Olympic classes. The data of the first fifteen most successful sailors from the 2008 to 2016 Olympic Games were collected. The foundations of the results obtained descriptive analysis on the data collected which conclude that the sailors who achieved results at the Olympic Games will have to satisfy the results obtained with the anthropometric characeristics. For each Olympic class, a range of height and weight was defined: Laser Standard: height 180 - 189 cm, weight 79 - 84 kg; Laser Radial: height 169 - 178 cm, weight 65 - 70 kg; Finn: height 187 - 197 cm, weight 95 - 99 kg; 470 (M): abs: height 170 - 180 cm, weight 60 - 65 kg, floccist: height 178 - 188 cm, weight 70 - 75 kg, total weight 130 - 139 kg; 470 (W): abs: height 160 - 170 cm, weight 53 - 63 kg, floccist: height 170 - 180, weight 65 - 73 kg, total weight 120 - 131 kg; 49ER (M): abs: height 177 - 184 cm, weight 73 - 81 kg, floccist: height 180 - 187, weight 78 - 84 kg, total weight 150 - 159 kg; RS: X (M): height 177 - 186 cm, weight 70 - 76 kg; RS: X (W): height 165 - 171, weight 55 - 61 kg. In addition, it is concluded that the most successful sailors are on average getting higher, and in most classes and heavier (Laser Standard, Laser Radial, Finn and 49ER classes), except in the 470 and RS: X classes in the men's and women's competition, where results varied around equal mean value. For the Olympic classes 49er FX and NACRA 17, the expected ranges of anthropometric characteristics have not been defined, given the presence of these classes at the last Olympic Games only and the sample size too small to reach a conclusion

Dobivene vrijednosti mogu poslužiti kao modalne karakteristike kod jedriliÄara te nam olakÅ”avaju selekciju sportaÅ”a.Sailing and windsurfing are specific sports that differ from many other sports activities in water, therefore the preparation of athletes must be specific. High level of technical and tactical intelligence is required to ensure that the results achieved in sailing are at the highest possible level, but it is widely known that success in sport, and therefore also in sailing, is gratly affected by anthropometric characteristics . The aim of this study was to determine the optimal range of anthropological measures of body height and body mass among sailors, both male and female, in a total of 8 Olympic classes in sailing. For the purposes of the research, the data of the first 15 best placed male and female sailors at the Olympics from 2008 to 2016 were collected. Two anthropometric measures were studied in the research: body mass and body height. Based on the collected data, a statistical analysis was performed to obtain descriptive parameters. A total of 555 achieved results were processed, of which 330 rankings were achieved by men sailors, while 225 rankings were achieved by female sailors. Descriptive data show that average values of height and weight are increasing, with the exception of class 470 and RS:X in which the results differ around the mean values. Based on the obtained results, it is assumed that at the future Olympic Games the majority (min 70%) of the most successful sailors (first 15) will be in the range of the obtained anthropometric characteristics. The obtained values can serve as modal characteristics in sailors and make the selection of the athletes easier
