Color dielectric model with two scalar fields

SU(2) Yang-Mills theory coupled in a non-minimal way to two scalar fields is discussed. For the massless scalar fields a family of finite energy solutions generated by an external, static electric charge is found. Additionally, there is a single solution which can be interpreted as confining one. Similar solutions have been obtained in the magnetic sector. In case of massive scalar fields the Coulomb problem is investigated. We find that asymptotic behavior of the fields can also, for some values of the parameter of the model, give confinement of the electric charge. Quite interesting one glueball--meson coupling gives the linear confining potential. Finally, it is shown that for one non-dynamical scalar field we derive the color dielectric generalization of the Pagels--Tomboulis model.Comment: 20 pages, LaTeX, Accepted for publication in Eur. Implementation and unification of the ERP system in a global company as a strategic decision for sustainable entrepreneurship

This article considered factors connected with the implementation and unification of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, and their influence on the sustainable development of global companies. It showed a cognitive model on such impact and gave an example in the form of a case study of a global company listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. The basic strategic objectives of each organization include long-term growth and sustainability. In a growing competitive environment, it is essential to manage the company effectively. This can be achieved provided that the company's organizational structure and operations are properly set from the point of view of the ERP system. The research results were aimed at creating the generalized process of the ERP system's gradual implementation, to make the development of an organization progressive. The paper was focused on describing the implementation and unification of the Enterprise Resource Planning System, in a global company listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. The aim of the paper was to monitor and evaluate, the links between Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management. This process is time consuming and costly. To achieve the aim, the case study was carried out in the form of an expert survey aimed at assessing the impact of the unification and implementation of the ERP system in a global company. The study included methods of systemic analysis, methods of sociological expert survey, a method of qualitative peer review, and a method for a cognitive model. It leads not only to effective management of global companies but enables the monitoring and comparison of Key Performance Indicators and the Net Promoter Score in each country, using the same parameters. The implementation of a unified Enterprise Resource Planning system leads to a significant cost reduction and has a positive impact on the financial indicators reported on the stock exchange. This study highlighted the importance of the implementation of an effective ERP system, to make the development of organizations sustainable.Web of Science108art. no. 291

    Heavy-to-light decays with a two-loop accuracy

We present a determination of a new class of three-loop Feynman diagrams describing heavy-to-light transitions. We apply it to find the O(alpha_s^2) corrections to the top quark decay t -> bW and to the distribution of lepton invariant mass in the semileptonic b quark decay b -> ul\nu. We also confirm the previously determined total rate of that process as well as the O(alpha^2) corrections to the muon lifetime.Comment: 5 page

Transnational Polish families in Norway the entanglements between migration trajectory and labor

    Get PDF
A continuing importance of extended kin in the globalized world has been pinpointed by studies in sociology of family (Mason 2011, Charles et al. 2008), and particularly highlighted by migration research on transnational kin (Goulbourne et al. 2010). Under this premise, we look at the lives of Polish migrant families (parents, children and beyond) as defined as embedded in the dynamically constructed practices of managing ties and kin relationship beyond national borders (Bryceson & Vuorela 2003), signifying a constant interplay of ethnic identity components from the countries of origin, destination and beyond (e.g. Goulbourne et al. 2010, Reynolds 2008). In a nutshell, we thrive towards examining multi-sited/ transnational/ cross-border family practices found in Polish family migrants parenting in Norway

Non-abelian color dielectric - towards the effective model of the low energy QCD

Lattice motivated triplet color scalar field theory is analyzed. We consider non-minimal as well as covariant derivative coupling with SU(2) gauge fields. Field configurations generated by external electric sources are presented. Moreover non-Abelian magnetic monopoles are found. Dependence on the spatial coordinates in the obtained solutions is identical as in the usual Abelian case. We show also that after a decomposition of the fields a modified Faddeev-Niemi action can be obtained. It contains explicit O(3) symmetry breaking term parameterized by the condensate of an isoscalar field. Due to that Goldstone bosons observed in the original Faddeev-Niemi model are removed.Comment: 19 page

The electromagnetic dipole operator effect on B -> Xs gamma at O(alpha_s^2)

The flavor-changing electromagnetic dipole operator O_7 gives the dominant contribution to the B -> Xs gamma decay rate. We calculate two-loop QCD corrections to its matrix element together with the corresponding bremsstrahlung contributions. The optical theorem is applied, and the relevant imaginary parts of three-loop diagrams are computed following the lines of our recent t -> Xb W calculation. The complete result allows us to test the validity of the naive non-abelianization (NNA) approximation that has been previously applied to estimate the NNLO QCD correction to Gamma(B -> Xs gamma)/Gamma(B -> Xu e nu). When both decay widths are normalized to m^5_{b,R} in the same renormalization scheme R, the calculated O(alpha_s^2) correction is sizeable (~ 6%), and the NNA estimate is about 1/3 too large. On the other hand, when the ratio of the decay widths is written as S*(m_b(m_b)/m_{b,pole})^2, the calculated O(alpha_s^2) correction to S is at the level of 1% for both the complete and the NNA results.Comment: Corrected pi^2 terms in the description of intermediate steps in Section II. Final results unchange

Mapping of policies affecting female migrants and policy analysis : the Polish case

    Get PDF
The Polish policy towards foreigners is “European”; it does not have the features of the global policy, determined by the relevant UN documents concerning, among other things, the rights of migrants (human rights), fighting with discrimination of this category, particularly visible in correlation with gender, race, and the category male migrant/ female migrant. In numerous documents concern with the rights of female migrants is emphasized. In Poland, legislators do not pay attention to the sociological aspect of the issue. Detailed data concerning women are completely lacking. Poland has neither implemented policies with reference to the fight with discrimination in access to publicly provided goods and services, nor has a competent central body been appointed to support the fight against discrimination. Moreover, on 3 November 2005 the position of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Equal Status of Women and Men was closed down, whose tasks included fighting all kinds of discrimination and which undertook initiatives preventing racism, while one of its tasks was work on the preparation of the establishment of a special office dealing with discrimination. The attitude of public authorities to affirmative action must also be viewed negatively - so far no programmes have been planned concerning it; there is only the aforementioned provision, which unfortunately does not translate into appropriate legislative regulations or a policy promoting employment

Creation of Kink and Antikink Pairs Forced By Radiation

The interaction between kink and radiation in nonlinear one-dimensional real scalar field is investigated. The process of discrete vibrational mode excitation in ϕ4\phi^4 model is considered. The role of this oscillations in creation of kink and antikink is discussed. Numerical results are presented as well as some attempts of analytical explanations. An intriguing fractal structure in parameter space dividing regions with creation and without is also presented
