Postać literacka jako przedmiot rozmyślań aksjologicznych

The starting point for the author’s reflections in the article is axiology and literary character. The author discusses the significance of literary character in the process of opening teenagers up to axiological considerations. She also draws on some hitherto unpublished results of research conducted among future teachers. While referencing stories from the two volumes of Dark Chocolate (Pol. Gorzka czekolada), the author pays particular attention to the story Master’s Girlfriend (Pol. Dziewczyna mistrza) by Katarzyna Ryrych – its protagonists and how they might stimulate the students to serious axiological ponderings. The article concludes with a handful of insights on the role of axiological education in the class, and the value of students’ encounters with a variety of literary characters.Autorka artykułu wychodzi od rozważań na temat aksjologii i postaci literackiej. Karla Dedeciusa portret podwójny. O tłumaczu poezji polskiej i autorze refleksji o literaturze

The aim of this article is to portray Karl Dedecius, a translator of Polish poetry and author of reflections on literature. The picture of the connoisseur and lover of Polish works is accompanied by parallel reflections on Dedecius as a person, his double biography, the role he played in dealing with the works of Polish writers as well as the influence of literature on him. The reflections are based, among other things, on the research into Dedecius’essays, lectures, his autobiography and his correspondence with Tadeusz Różewicz. The proposed considerations and the types of documents mentioned – which contain a wealth of information about the translator’s private life, e.g. his preferred values, hi views on interpersonal relations, and his professional life, e.g. his passion for translating literature, its influence on building positive relations between nations – are related to selected elements of the theory and methodology of biographical research

Poeci i znawcy literatury. O edukacyjnych walorach dialogów Czesława Miłosza i Tomasa Venclovy oraz Tadeusza Różewicza i Karla Dedeciusa

Dialogues between poets and literature experts, including translators, may relate to a number of matters. Not infrequently, these are problematic topics stored in the memory and associated with difficult relations between nations, as well as with the search for ways to discover and build a literary and cultural community and a bridge based on understanding between people of different nationalities. The aim of the article is to focus attention on selected, not always easy, dialogues between Czesław Miłosz and Tomas Venclova, Tadeusz Różewicz and Karl Dedecius. Both the subject matter of the written exchange of ideas that takes place between them, and the ways in which the conversations/discussions are conducted, open up many important issues. The latter involves the broadly understood value of these dialogues both for writers and experts on their works and for contemporary readers – high school students.Dialogi poetów i znawców literatury, także tłumaczy, mogą dotyczyć wielu spraw. Nierzadko są nimi problematyczne tematy przechowywane w pamięci, a związane z trudnymi relacjami między narodami, szukaniem sposobów na odkrywanie i budowanie wspólnoty literackiej czy kulturowej oraz takiego pomostu, którego podstawą jest porozumienie między ludźmi różnych narodowości. Celem artykułu jest skoncentrowanie uwagi na wybranych, nie zawsze łatwych dialogach Czesława Miłosza i Tomasza Venclovy oraz Tadeusza Różewicza i Karla Dedeciusa. Zarówno tematyka zachodzącej między nimi pisemnej wymiany myśli, jak i sposoby prowadzenia rozmów czy dyskusji otwierają na wiele ważnych kwestii. Te ostatnie dotyczą szeroko rozumianej wartości owych dialogów, tak dla pisarzy i znawców ich utworów, jak i dla współczesnych czytelników – uczniów liceum

„Gorzkie żale” w odbiorze licealistów

The starting point of the article is a cluster of reflections on the interdisciplinary potential of 'Lenten Lamentations' (Gorzkie żale). Subsequently, the text moves on to present the arrangement, methodology and foundations of empirical studies conducted in the year 2017 among a group of high school students from grades 1–3, who were put in charge of two tasks. In the first one they were supposed to say what the service of 'Lenten Lamentations' meant to them. The other one, which was an analysis of specific hymns from the liturgy, examines the impact of their lyrics on the students. The gathered material, which is very rich, makes it possible to assume a number of analytical approaches. The present article concentrates only on discussing a handful of selected results. The conclusions concern methods and ways of reading texts of culture in Polish literature classes.

Second instance court’s bench composition in civil proceedings

Celem artykułu jest omówienie skutków nowelizacji Kodeksu postępowania cywilnego, wprowadzonych Ustawą z dnia 28 maja 2021 r. w zakresie zmiany składu sądu w postępowaniu apelacyjnym. Nowe rozwiązania budzą liczne kontrowersje i w wielu aspektach ingerują w niezawisłość sędziowską. Po pierwsze, odwracając zasadę składów kolegialnych na rzecz jednoosobowych, nie zapewniono wystarczających gwarancji kontynuacji tak zwanych starych spraw w niezmienionym składzie, co może naruszać zasadę niezmienności składów. Po drugie, powierzając wyłącznie czynnikowi administracyjnemu prezesowi sądu decydowanie o składzie sądu, nie zapewniono wystarczających gwarancji poszanowania niezawisłości sędziowskiej. Sprzeciw budzi decydowanie przez prezesa sądu o tym, czy zachodzi potrzeba wyznaczenia składu z uwagi na szczególną zawiłość lub precedensowy charakter sprawy. Nie jest rzeczą prezesa ocenianie charakteru sprawy, którą rozstrzyga sędzia. Kwalifikowane przesłanki zaś do ustanowienia składu kolegialnego sprawią, że przedmiotowa regulacja będzie niezwykle rzadko stosowana.The aim of the article is to discuss the effects of the amendment to Code of Civil Procedure introduced by Act of 28 May 2021 within the scope of a change of a court bench compositionin appeal proceedings. The new solutions are controversial and in some aspects interfere with the principle of judicial independence. By reversing the principle of a collective composition infavour of a one-person composition, there were insufficient guarantees for the continuation ofthe so-called unchanged bench composition for old cases, which may violate the principle of invariability of a bench composition. Secondly, entrusting a decision on a court composition to a court president that is an administrative body did not provide sufficient guarantees forrespect for judicial independence. A court president’s decision on whether it is necessary to designate a bench due to the complexity or precedent-like nature of a case also raises objections. It is not within a court president’s competence to assess a nature of a case on which a judge adjudicates. On the other hand, classified conditions for establishing collective benches cause that the discussed regulation will be very rarely applied

Heroes in the Children’s and Youth Prose and Their Influence on Teenager Readers

Autorka tekstu wychodzi od rozważań skupionych na zagadnieniach teoretycznoliterackich, konkretnie zaś na kategorii bohatera książek dla dzieci i młodzieży oraz oddziaływaniu postaci na odbiorców. Następnie przedstawia wybrane wyniki badań empirycznych, które przynoszą odpowiedź na główne pytanie badawcze: jak bohaterowie prozy dla dzieci i młodzieży wpływają na młodych czytelników? Prezentuje rezultaty prowadzonych przez kilka lat badań nad szkolną recepcją baśni oraz wyniki sondażu diagnostycznego z 2019 roku. Ten ostatni polegał na gromadzeniu pisemnych wspomnień przyszłych nauczycieli polonistów na temat oddziaływania na nich bohaterów prozy dla dzieci i młodzieży w okresie, gdy byli niedorosłymi czytelnikami. Zebrany materiał empiryczny jest bogaty i daje możliwość odpowiedzi na główne pytanie badawcze. Staje się również podstawą wielostronnych refleksji m.in. nad zadaniami nauczyciela polonisty.The Author starts from considerations focused on theoretical and literary issues, particularly on the literary heroes category as well as heroes in books for children and youth and the influence thereof on readers. Then she introduces selected results of empirical research which provides answers to main research questions: how heroes in children’s and youth prose influence on teenager readers? She presents results of the research that she has been carrying out for several years on the school perception of fairytales as well as results of the diagnostic survey of 2019. The latter consisted in gathering written reminiscence of future Polish teachers about the impact of their heroes from children’s and youth books on them when they were teenagers. The gathered empirical material is rich and provides a possibility to give an answer to main research questions. It shall also constitute a basis for reflections on a role of their heroes from children’s and youth books or tasks of a Polish teacher
