Usage simulation methods for education
The paper deals with usage of computer simulation methods for education at Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Signaling in Transport, Jan Perner Transport Faculty,
University of Pardubice. Current situation of railway technics is very complicated and sophisticated both from viewpoint of railway infrastructure and from viewpoint of transport means. The particular parts of system are necessary to be analyzed from viewpoint of their behaviour and from viewpoint of influence
to surrounding parts of the whole system. Therefore students as future railway experts must be trained for ability of problem identification and suitable design of problem solution. This readiness of experts for real operation of these devices is one of the main goals of lecturers from the mentioned department
Crystal Structure of Non-molecular Compounds from Powder Diffraction
Methods of structure determination from powder diffraction of non-molecular compounds (inorganics, extended solids, intermetallic compounds, etc.) are reviewed. They work either in reciprocal space or in direct space. Those working in reciprocal space use algorithms known from single crystal works (direct methods and Patterson synthesis) and need decomposition of powder patterns to individual reflections. Those working in direct space need no powder pattern
decomposition and are based on global optimization of a structural model to improve agreement between the observed and calculated diffraction patterns. The available computer programs working in direct space are summarized
FOX: A friendly tool to solve nonmolecular structures from powder diffraction
Structural characterization from powder diffraction of compounds not containing isolated molecules but three-dimensional infinite structure (alloys, intermetallics, framework compounds, extended solids) by direct space methods has been largely improved in the last 15 years. The success of the method depends very much on a proper modeling of the structure from building blocks. The modeling from larger building blocks improves the convergence of the global optimization algorithm by a factor of up to 10. However, care must be taken about the correctness of the building block, like its rigidity, deformation, bonding distances, and ligand identity. Dynamical occupancy correction implemented in the direct space program FOX has shown to be useful when merging excess atoms, and even larger building blocks like coordination polyhedra. It also allows joining smaller blocks into larger ones in the case when the connectivity was not a priori evident from the structural model. We will show in several examples of nonmolecular structures the effect of the modeling by correct structural unit
Disordered Microtwinned (Sc1-x)Sc4Co6Sn18 (x = 0.14)
The crystal structure and composition of (Sc1-x)Sc4Co6Sn18 (x = 0.14) were refined from single crystal X-ray diffraction data. The structure is disordered microtwinned tetragonal, I41/acd, a = 13.341(8), c = 26.69(2) Å, V = 4749.8 Å3, Z = 8, Dx = 7.58 g cm-3, Mr = 2708.5, μ = 23.85 mm-1, 73 refined parameters, R = 0.0638 for 1639 observed unique reflections with F0 > 4σ(F0). The title compound belongs to a large series of stannides with formula (M1-xSnx)-M4M\u276Sn18 (M = rare earth, M’ = Co, Ru, Rh, Ir, Os) and two related structures (tetragonal phase II with cell parameters a ≈ 13.7, c ≈27.4 Å and pseudo-cubic phase IF (earlier sometimes called phase III) with a ≈ 13.7 Å, which was explained as microtwinned phase II). The crystal was microtwinned. The refined volume fractions of three twin domains were 0.381(7), 0.287(7) and 0.332(7), respectively. A microtwinning of phase II seems to be an intrinsic feature of its structure thus reducing the probability of the forma-tion of the ideal cubic structure IF during the crystal growth

Crystal structure solution of an elusive polymorph of Dibenzylsquaramide
The crystal structure of the third polymorph of dibenzylsquaramide (Portell, A. et al., 2009), (fig. 1) has been determined from laboratory X-ray powder diffraction data by means of direct space methods using the computing program FOX. (Favre-Nicolin and Černý, 2002) The structure resolution has not been straightforward due to several difficulties on the indexing process and in the space group assignment. The asymmetric unit contains two different conformers, which has implied an additional difficulty during the Rietveld (Rietveld, 1969) refinement. All these issues together with particular structural features of disquaramides are discusse

objemem přepravovaného zboží a vzdáleností dopravy) a ekologicky nejšetrnějších způsobů dopravy (doprava v městských aglomeracích), vede k požadavkům na její další rozvoj a rozšíření v budoucnu.
• Dokončení hlavní sítě TEN-T do roku 2030 a globální sítě do roku 2050.
• Dokončení evropské vysokorychlostní železniční sítě do roku 2050.
