    06.03.2018 tarihli ve 30352 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanan “Yükseköğretim Kanunu İle Bazı Kanun Ve Kanun Hükmünde Kararnamelerde Değişiklik Yapılması Hakkında Kanun” ile 18.06.2018 tarihli “Lisansüstü Tezlerin Elektronik Ortamda Toplanması, Düzenlenmesi ve Erişime Açılmasına İlişkin Yönerge” gereğince tam metin erişime açılmıştır.Anahtar kelimeler: Alümina, SiC, Seramik Kompozit.Bu çalışmada, SiC ilaveli alümina seramik kompozit üretimi ve bu seramik kompozitlerin fiziksel ve mekaniksen özellikleri incelenmiştir.Deneysel çalışmada alümina ve SiC hammaddeleri kullanılmıştır. Kullanılan alümina tozunun ortalama boyutu 0,4 ?m, SiC'ün toz boyutu ise 20 ?m'dir.Alümina içerisine %5-10-15 oranında SiC ilave edilip homojen karışım sağlamak amacı ile değirmende sulu öğütülerek karışımlar hazırlanmıştır. Bu karışımların etüvde suyu uzaklaştırılıp kurutulduktan sonra toz halin getirilmiştir. Toz halindeki karışımlar %5 oranında nemlendirilerek 500 ?m boyutunda granül hale getirilip bu granül halindeki karışımlar kuru presde 100 MPa basınç altında şekillendirildi. Şekillendirildikten sonra numuneler kurutularak nemi giderilmiştir. Şekillendirilen numuneler 1500?1550?1600?1650 oC sıcaklıklarda sinterlenmiştir.Üretilen numunelerin üzerinde pişme küçülmesi, su emme, gözenek miktarı, bulk yoğunluk, relatif yoğunluk, üç nokta eğme mukavemeti, sertlik, kırılma tokluğu deneyleri yapılmış ve değerler tespit edilmiştir. XRD ve SEM ile mikroyapı incelemeleri yapılmıştır.Yapılan bu fiziksel ve mekanik testler sonucunda üretilen seramik kompozitlerin özellikleri verilmiş ve tartışılmıştır.Key Words: Alumina, SiC, Sintering, Ceramic CompositesThe aim of this study is to search the effect of SiC addition on physical and mechanical properties, of alumina based ceramic composites.During experiments powdered, Alcoa Alumina in 0,4 ?m (commercial pure) and SiC in 20 ?m are used.Powdered SiC is added to alumina at 5-10-15 wt. % ratios. To have a homogeneous mixture, powder compositions are wet milled and then dried in an incubator. After drying, homegeneous compositions are grounded under 500 ?m and by 5 % moisturizing, granulation occured. Granules are dry pressed under 100 MPa and incubated. Dried bodies are sintered at 1500?1550?1600?1650 oC.Composite bodies are tested against firing shrinkage, water absorption, porosity, relative density, three point bending strength, hardness, fracture toughness, phase (XRD) and microstructural analysis (SEM).According to XRD results, it has seen that the addition of SiC to the alumina forms mullit phase which occures as a result by the reaction of oxygen and SiC. And also seen that SiC addition was not achieved mechanical properties of the ceramic bodies properly.By the help of physical and mechanical experiment results, the properties of ceramic composites are given and discussed

    The association of new atherosclerosis markers with coronary collaterals in chronic total occlusion patients

    Objectives: In the present study, we investigated the relationship between mentioned markers and chronic total occlusion collateral development. Patients and methods: A total of 243 patients (210 males, 33 females; mean age: 63.3±11.5; range, 51 to 76 years) who underwent coronary angiography due to typical chest pain or myocardial ischemia detected in noninvasive stress tests and diagnosed with ≥1 major coronary artery occlusion between January and September 2020 were included in the cross-sectional observational study. The angiographic collateral index was determined according to the Cohen-Rentrop classification. The patients were divided into two groups according to the sufficiency of collateral development: the well-developed collaterals group (n=155) and the poor-developed collaterals group (n=88). Results: Statistically significant parameters in univariate logistic regression analysis were evaluated with multivariate (stepwise) logistic regression analysis; as a result, presence of chronic total occlusion in left anterior descending artery (odds ratio [OR]=2.447; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.160-5.162; p=0.019), total number of occlusions (OR=3.503; 95% CI, 1.445-8.494; p=0.006), left ventricular ejection fraction (OR=1.056; 95% CI, 1.022-1.091; p=0.001), and the atherogenic index of plasma (OR=0.017; 95% CI, 1.022-1.091; p<0.001) were independently associated with well-developed collaterals. Although the triglyceride-glucose index had statistical significance in the univariate analysis, it was not detected as an independent variable in the multivariate analysis. The monocyte-lymphocyte ratio was not significant in the univariate analysis.     Analysis Of Intramuscular Injectıons Admınıstered In A Family Health Center

    Objectives: In this study, the objective was to evaluate the intramuscular injections administered to patients admitted to a family health center with sociodemographic characteristics. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional, analytical and, retrospective file review study. The sample population was formed by patients who had intramuscular injections administered between the dates of January 01, 2017 - and December 31, 2019. A total of 5648 injections for 2059 adults/children were evaluated. The data set was analyzed using SPSS 17.0 (IBM, USA) statistical package program. Results: An average of 2.74 injections per person was administered. The rate of myorelaxant injection administration was higher among women (p<0.001), and the rate of antibiotic and analgesic + myorelaxant injection administrations was higher among men (p<0.001 for both). With the increase of age, the rate of analgesic injection administrations increases (p<0.001) and the rate of antibiotic injection administrations decreases (p<0.001). The highest analgesic + myorelaxant injection administration rate was during autumn, and the lowest was during winter (p=0.001). Conclusion: The results showed that the frequency of analgesic, myorelaxant, antibiotic, steroid, vitamin/mineral, hormone and combination drugs used for intramuscular injection were affected by demographic variables such as age, gender and season. Identifying family health center dynamics may contribute to creating rational health policies. © Ankara Medical Journal.All rights reserved

    The planthopper, Orosanga japonica (Melichar, 1898) (Hemiptera: Ricaniidae), is an important agricultural pest of grapevine, kiwifruit and tea in Asia and in some countries of Eastern Europe. The efficacy of the crude extracts of Cuscuta campestris Yunck. (Solanales: Convolvulaceae) and Lupinus albus L. (Fabales: Fabaceae) plants was evaluated under laboratory conditions for control of O. japonica nymphs and adults collected in 2019 from Rize (Turkey). Their toxic efficacies were investigated by two different methods. Fixed-dose death rates were used for LT50 calculation and dosage test results were used for LC50 calculation. Also, the phenolic constituents of active plant extracts were examined using HPLC-DAD. Generally, the LT50 values obtained using ethyl acetate extracts were lower than those with methanol extracts. LT50 values of adults were found lower than in nymphs. The test plants crude extracts had high activity at and below 2 g/L (LC90) for two different plants. HPLC-DAD results showed that the high concentration of kaempferol and quercetin for each extract. Extracts of both plants gave promising results for use in O. japonica control, but more detailed studies on the active constituents of these candidate plants need to be undertaken

    12th WORLD UNIVERSITIES WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP FREE STYLE COMPETITION TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

    The purpose of this study was to make 12th World Universities Wrestling Championships Free style competition technical analysis. There were 85 participants from 19 countries participated in Çorum. The observation form prepared before the competitions with recorded by two researchers, technical analysis of the recordings were obtained. During the competitions, the scores obtained, warnings, winning types, successful techniques recorded in the technical analyze form. In statistical analysis, the percentage distributions for each parameter and match percentage rates were calculated. Statistical was performed by One Way ANOVA and LSD analysis of variance in group comparisons. The number of technical points taken for all weight groups in wrestling competitions were 789 points. The highest number of points was achieved in middleweight groups with 352 and with the maximum number of matches was made with 33 in the middleweight group. In the free style wrestling, ratio for one competition (ROC) was of received number of 10.38 points. Ratio of received points for one competition between weight groups found differences (p&lt;0.05). The points of Middleweight group are higher from Lightweight and Heavyweight groups. Lightweight wrestlers 51.85% won by score and while 48.15% won by technical superiority. Middleweight wrestlers 48.48% won by score and while 51.52% won by technical superiority. Heavyweight wrestlers 75% won by score and while 25% won by technical superiority. Iran, Russia and Turkey participated in all category competitions. To get degrees, countries must matches at all sizes. Number of touch in Heavyweight wrestlers was more than from lightweight and middleweight wrestlers. Coaches in Countries must follow the wrestlers of competing countries. If necessary, it should go to the weight category setting. Some wrestlers recommended wrestled at the top category or bottom category.   Article visualizations

    Is there any difference between mathematics and mathematics education students’ views about mathematical proof?Matematik ve matematik eğitimi öğrencilerinin matematiksel ispata yönelik görüşleri arasında fark var mıdır?

    The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of mathematics and mathematics education students’ views about mathematical proof and find out whether there was a significant difference among students’ views according to their departments or not. The study was conducted with senior students (n=275) studying in final year at the department of Primary Mathematics Teacher Training (n=98), Secondary Mathematics Teacher Training (n=87) and Mathematics (n=90) at a state university at the beginning of the spring semester of 2014-2015 academic terms in East Anatolia Region of Turkey. Quantitative research approach was adopted in this study. The model of the study was comparative research which was one of the model in the nonexperimental research designs. The data were collected with Conception Scale for Mathematical Proof developed by Doruk and Güler (2014). Results of the study showed that secondary mathematics teacher training students had more negative overall views, more negative views regarding benefits obtained from mathematical proof in mathematical sense, and less self-confidence, and more negative views about meaning assigned to proof than other students. Moreover, it was revealed that mathematics students’ views regarding necessity of proof in mathematics and mathematics education were more positive than other students. ÖzetBu çalışmanın amacı matematik ve matematik eğitimi öğrencilerinin matematiksel ispata yönelik görüşlerinin düzeylerini belirlemek ve öğrenci görüşlerinin öğrenim görülen bölümlere göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini ortaya çıkarmaktır. Çalışma 2014-2015 öğretim yılının bahar yarıyılının başında, Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’ndeki bir devlet üniversitesinin son sınıflarında öğrenim gören toplam 275 ilköğretim matematik öğretmenliği (n=98), ortaöğretim matematik öğretmenliği (n=87) ve matematik bölümü öğrencileri (n=90) ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada nicel araştırma yaklaşımı benimsenmiştir. Çalışmanın modeli deneysel olmayan desenlerden biri olan karşılaştırmalı araştırma modelidir. Çalışmanın verileri, Doruk ve Güler (2014) tarafından geliştirilen Matematiksel İspata Yönelik Görüş Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, ortaöğretim matematik öğretmenliği bölümü öğrencilerinin ispata yönelik genel görüşlerinin, ispatların kendilerine matematiksel anlamda sağladığı faydalara yönelik görüşlerinin, ispata karşı özgüvenlerinin ve ispata yükledikleri anlamın diğer öğrencilere göre daha olumsuz olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Matematik bölümü öğrencilerinin ispatın matematik ve matematik eğitimindeki gerekliliğine yönelik görüşlerinin ise diğer öğrencilere nazaran daha olumlu olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır

    Determination of age, growth and first Maturity Length of Whiting (Merlangius merlangus, Nordmann, 1840) in the Eastern Black Sea

    Çalışmada, Doğu Karadeniz’deki Mezgit (Merlangius merlangus) popülasyonunun bazı temel parametrelerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Mart 2017- Şubat 2018 tarihleri arasında yapılan 12 aylık örneklemede elde edilen ve incelenen 1579 adet mezgit balığının boylarının 7,5 cm ile 32,6 cm arasında dağılım gösterdiği ve ortalama boyun 14,49±2,85 cm olduğu, ağırlıklarının ise 2,68 g ile 279,58 g arasında dağılım gösterdiği ve ortalama ağırlığın 26,05±20,95 g olduğu bulunmuştur. Boy-ağırlık ilişkisi W=0,0046*L3,173 olarak saptanmıştır. Cinsiyet oranı (dişi/erkek) 1,31:1 ve yapılan χ2 testi sonucu farkın önemli olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yaş dağılımı 0-VIII arasında, büyüme parametreleri L∞=31,87 cm, K=0,130, t0=-3,071, W∞=271,01 g ve Ø'=2,123 olarak belirlenmiştir. Toplam örneklerde ilk eşeysel olgunluk boyu (L50=13,19 cm) olarak hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler ışığında Doğu Karadeniz mezgit stoklarının sürdürülebilirliğini olumsuz yönde etkileyen bir avcılık söz konusu olduğu görülmüştür.In this study, it is aimed to determine some basic parameters of the whiting (Merlangius merlangus) population in the Eastern Black Sea. As a result of 12 months sampling conducted between March 2017 and February 2018, a total of 1579 whiting were examined and their lengths ranged between 7.5 cm and 32.6 cm and the mean length was 14.49 ± 2.85 cm and their weights ranged between 2.68 g and 279.58 g, the mean weight was 26.05 ± 20.95 g. Length-weight relationship was found W=0,0046*L3,173. While the sex ratio (female/male) was found to be 1,31: 1, because of the chi-square test the difference was found to be significant. Age distribution was between 0 and VIII, growth parameters were determined as L∞=31,87 cm, K=0,130, t0=-3,071, W∞=271,01 g and Ø'=2,123, respectively. The first sexual maturity length of total samples (L50) was calculated as 13.19 cm. In the light of the data obtained, it has been observed that there is a catch that negatively affects the sustainability of Eastern Black Sea whiting stocks

    Effects of instruction based on realistic mathematics education on mathematics achievement: A meta-analysis studyGerçekçi matematik eğitimi destekli öğretimin matematik başarısına etkisi: Bir meta-analiz çalışması

    The purpose of this research is to determine the overall effect of instruction based on realistic mathematics education on mathematics achievement. The Meta-Analysis method recently increased in popularity in the field of educational science is used to accomplish this goal. Some criterions have been put in the determination of the study included in the survey and 12 national thesis in accordance with these criterions constituted the sample of this study. Process effectiveness method of meta-analysis is used in the analysis of data and Hedges’s g is used in the calculation of effect size of the study. At the end of the study, realistic mathematics education has an overall, positive and moderate effect on the mathematics achievement (Q = 16.406; p = 0.127). Howewer, the distribution of the effect sizes of the studies included in the survey are found to be homogeneous. At the end of the Z test carried out for the purpose of statistical significance, the value of effect size is observed statistically significant (Z = 7.966; p &lt;0.05). The number of error protection is calculated 91 study to determine the publication bias of the study according to Orwin’s method. According to Orwin’s Fail Safe-N, the research could not have publication bias. ÖzetBu araştırmanın amacı gerçekçi matematik eğitiminin matematik başarısı üzerindeki genel etkisini belirlemektir. Bu amacı gerçekleştirmek için eğitim bilimleri alanında yakın zamanda popülerliği artan meta-analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya dâhil edilecek çalışmaların belirlenmesinde bazı kriterler belirlenmiş ve bu kriterlere uygun olan 12 ulusal tez bu araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmuştur. Verilerin analizinde işlem etkililiği meta analizi yöntemi kullanılmış olup araştırmaların etki büyüklüklerinin hesaplanmasında Hedges’s g kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda gerçekçi matematik eğitiminin matematik başarısı üzerinde genel olarak, pozitif yönde ve orta düzeyde (Q= 16.406; p= 0.127) etkiye sahip olduğu ve araştırmaya dâhil edilen çalışmaların etki büyüklükleri dağılımının homojen olduğu görülmüştür. İstatistiksel anlamlılık amacıyla yapılan Z testi sonunda etki büyüklüğü değerinin istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu görülmüştür (Z=7.966; p&lt;0.05). Araştırmanın yayın yanlılığını test etmek amacıyla Orwin’in yöntemine göre hata koruma sayısı 91 hesaplanmıştır. Bulunan bu değere göre çalışmanın yayın yanlılığına sahip olmadığı söylenebilir

    AN EVALUATION ON THE REFLECTIONS OF SCHOOL GARDENS ON EDUCATION

    This study aims to determine the physical conditions, cleanliness and order of the school gardens, the conditions of the garden walls and the security measures taken regarding the gardens, and to reveal the reflections of these features on education. This study, which also tries to reveal the satisfaction levels of students, parents, teachers and school administrators regarding school gardens, is qualitative research in the survey model. Research data were collected by natural/unstructured observation and semi-structured interview techniques. Content analysis technique was used in the analysis of the data. This study was conducted in six official primary schools at lower, middle and upper socio-economic levels, and interviews were conducted with 101 students, 35 parents, 22 teachers and 6 administrators in these schools. In the research, it was determined that the school gardens do not have the features to increase the physical activity of the students, there are insufficient and unplanned applications in the gardens, and the gardens do not contribute to educational activities. In addition, it has been determined that students, parents, teachers and administrators are not satisfied with the physical conditions, cleanliness and order of the school gardens, the condition of the garden walls and security measures.  Article visualizations

    The relationship of serum asymmetric dimethylarginine concentrations and lung involvement in patients with COVID-19 infection

    Aim: COVID-19 infections the tissue through angiotensin converting enzyme 2 receptor, which is also expressed on endothelial cells. Endothelial dysfunction may be associated with lung involvement. Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) is an indirect marker of endothelial dysfunction. The aim of our study was to evaluate ADMA concentrations and to identify its association with lung involvement in patients with COVID19 disease. Methods: We included 42 patients with COVID-19 infection and lung involvement (Group 1). Forty-two age and sex matched patients without pneumonia acted as the control group (Group 2). All patients gave blood samples for ADMA at the 1st month control visit after discharge. We compared C-reactive protein (CRP) and ADMA concentrations in addition to routine biochemical parameters between groups. Results: Patients with lung involvement had higher admission glucose, CRP, and ADMA concentrations, and displayed lower hemoglobin concentration and lymphocyte count compared to patients without lung involvement. Although patients with lung involvement had higher ADMA concentrations with respect to those without; plasma ADMA levels were also higher than normal values in control group. Multivariate analysis identified log CRP concentration (OR= 3.047, 95% CI=1.881-5.023, p<0.001) as the independent predictor for lung involvement. And, there was a correlation between ADMA and CRP (r: 0.318, p: 0.003). Conclusion: We revealed elevated ADMA concentrations as the surrogate of endothelial dysfunction in COVID-19 patients whether they have pneumonia or not
