Des règles poétiques à la norme linguistique

This article analyses the poetical thought in the linguistic discourse characterizing Geoffroy Tory’s Champ fleury (1529). On the one hand, we will underline how Tory is indebted to the treatises of “Seconde Rhétorique” and to the metapoetic developments in the Rhétoriqueurs’ poetry. On the other hand, we will show the significance of disciplinary reorganisation through this re-using of the poetic tradition. This double approach will allow us to consider Tory’s linguistic discourse as the location where the poetical thought is transformed since the middle of the XVth century. In this perspective, the work of Tory can be linked to emergence of new disciplines in the XVIth century, as grammar, literary history and diachronic lexicology.Cet article se propose d’examiner la place de la réflexion poétique dans le discours linguistique du Champ fleury (1529) de Geoffroy Tory. D’une part, il entend mettre en évidence la dette de Tory à l’égard des traités de seconde rhétorique et des développements métapoétiques des Rhétoriqueurs. D’autre part, il entend montrer l’intense travail de réélaboration disciplinaire à l’œuvre dans cette reprise de la tradition poéticienne. Cette double approche permet d’envisager le discours linguistique de Tory comme le lieu d’une transformation de la réflexion poétique amorcée à partir du milieu du XVe siècle en esquisses de disciplines nouvelles qui seront ensuite élaborées au cours du XVIe siècle (grammaire, histoire littéraire, lexicologie diachronique)
