Bu yazıda, öğretim sistemi içinde önemli bir yeri olan kütüphane ve bilgi merkezlerinin, uzaktan öğrenim gören bireylerin bilgi ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak için geliştirdikleri hizmet türleri üzerinde durulmakta ve bilgi kaynaklarının elektronik ortama aktarılarak, kütüphane kullanıcılarına sunulduğu sanal kütüphane anlatılmaktadır. Ayrıca, uzaktan öğrenim gören bireylerin bilgi ihtiyaçlarının en üst düzeyde karşılanabilmesi için enformasyon uzmanlarına yönelik öneriler sunulmaktadır.Rapid improvement of information technology caused the distance learning types to variate and it enabled the internet based distance learning to be common. This paper focuses on services of libraries and information centres, which have an utmost position to meet the information needs of students in distance learning programs and on virtual library which provides the participants with the information sources conveyed onto electronic format. In addition, the article offers suggestions for information experts, who are responsible for the supply of services to the distance learning students are presented

A Success Story of an Academic Library Consortium: ANKOS

ANKOS has been very successful in linking academic institutions in Turkey to an effective and efficient organisation of consortial activities. This is illustrated by figures provided on its expansion over eighteen years. The paper takes a historical and descriptive approach to the Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS). It aims to describe the goals, fields of activity, organizational structure, functioning and the benefits it provides to Turkish academic libraries. . The authors believe that this paper is useful for all academic librarians concerned with consortium systems, cost sharing, e-resource management, open access (OA), collaboration on national and international scales, and staff exchange, especially in the developing world

2023'e Doğru Türkiye'de Üniversite Kütüphaneleri : Mevcut Durum, Sorunlar, Standartlar ve Çözüm Önerileri

Çağın gereklerine uygun ve dünya ile rekabet edebilir bir eğitim, öğretim ve araştırma altyapısı için üniversitelerin en azından kendi alanlarında üretilen bilgiye erişebilecek ve bu bilgiyi 7/24 kullanıcıların hizmetine sunabilecek altyapıya sahip olmaları gerekir. Bu altyapıdan yoksun bir üniversitede dünyanın bilgi ve deneyiminden yeterince yararlanılamadığı ve hatta daha önce üretilmiş bilgi ve deneyimleri tekrar üretmek üzere gereksiz yere zaman ve para harcadığı ileri sürülebilir. Oysa dünyadaki söz sahibi üniversitelere bakıldığında, bu üniversitelerin kütüphanelerine ciddi yatırımlar yaptıkları ve bu yatırımların sürüdürülebilir olması için gerekli önlemleri aldıkları görülür

Türk Hukuk Kütüphanecileri Platformu’nun Oluşum Süreci

Developments in information and communication technologies are increasingly causing a convergence of communities and their individuals. It is therefore of vital importance that professional associations take actions in order to take advantage of these developments by helping their members to increase their professional skills in using information and communication technologies more effectively and hence create more valued added through use of information-based decision processes. Within this context, the establishment and promotion of associations, platforms, consortiums and occupational collaborations have become evermore necessary. In this study, we explain the establishment process and the activities of the Turkish Law Librarians’ Platform. Following a brief mention of some other nongovernmental organizations that operate in this discipline, we provide our views on the rationale for and the influence of professional associations

Türk Hukuk Kütüphanecileri Platformu’nun Oluşum Süreci / The Establishment Process of Turkish Platform of Law Librarians

[Turkish abstract] Bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerindeki gelişmeler toplumları ve bireyleri giderek birbirlerine yakınlaştırmaktadır. Bu nedenle, bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerini etkin olarak kullanan, bilgiye dayalı karar alma süreçleriyle daha fazla değer üreten bireylerin yetiştirilmesi ve bu gelişime katkıda bulunacak mesleki örgütlerin kurulması son derece önemlidir. Bu bağlamda, kütüphanecilik alanında da sivil toplum kuruluşlarının - derneklerin, konsorsiyumların, platformların ve mesleki birlikteliklerin - kurulması ve desteklenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de kütüphanecilik alanında faaliyet gösteren sivil toplum kuruluşlarına kısaca değinilmiş ve Türk Hukuk Kütüphanecileri Platformunun oluşum süreci ve faaliyetleri anlatılmıştır. Ayrıca derneklerin meslekler üzerindeki etkileri ve gerekliliği konusunda da görüşler sunulmuştur.
