Prematüre retinopatisi şiddeti ile görsel motor entegrasyon arasındaki ilişkinin değerlendirilmesi
Aim: The aim of the current study is to assess the effects of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) severity on visual motor integration in children. Material and Methods: Totally 104 children (44 girls, 60 boys) between 2 and 6 chronological age were included in the study. The children’s mean gestational age was 28.75±2.67 and birth weight was 1252.92±411.33. The Beery-Buktenica Developmental Test of Visual Motor Integration with supplemental tests of Visual Perception and Motor Coordination were used for the assessment of children. Results: The incidences of retinopathy of prematurity severity were 23.1% Stage 1+, 24% Stage 2+ and 52.9% Stage 3+ in the study. The incidence of abnormal visual motor integration was 51% of the study population. The incidence of abnormal visual perception and motor coordination were 37.5% and 51.9%, respectively. Referring to the Beery-Buktenica Developmental Test of Visual Motor Integration results, there was statistically significant correlation between the level of all visual motor integration, visual perception, and motor subtest results (p=0.00). There were not statistically significant correlation between retinopathy of prematurity severity and results of visual motor integration and visual perception tests (p>0.05). There was a significant correlation between retinopathy of prematurity severity and motor coordination test results (p0,05).
Prediction of vaginal delivery with transperineal ultrasound in women induced with dinoprostone beyond 40 weeks of gestation
Background: Digital cervical evaluation has been used to determine the likelihood of vaginal delivery which is considered by many women to be non-tolerable. Recently, transperineal ultrasound allowing direct visualization of the fetal skull has been using for the prediction of labor route. Authors aimed to study whether measurements on transperineal ultrasound are predictive for vaginal delivery in pregnant women induced with dinoprostone at 40.0-42.0 gestational weeks. Methods: A total of 55 pregnant women at 40.0-42.0 gestational weeks were enrolled in this prospective observational study. All participated women were examined before the induction with dinoprostone to measure the head-perineum distance (HPD), the head-pubis distance and the angle of progression of fetal head (AOP).Results: The greater AOP, the shorter HPD and the head-pubis distance were associated with vaginal delivery in the nulliparous women. The HPD and the head-pubis distance were shorter, whereas the AOP was greater in the multiparous women giving birth by vaginal route. Conclusions: Transperineal ultrasound can be applied at the beginning of labor to predict whether vaginal delivery will occur or not. As shown in our study, the pregnant women with shorter HPD and wider AOP might have a high possibility to achieve vaginal delivery
Readability of texts in secondary school mathematics course books
This study aimed to investigate the readability of the fifth-, sixth, seventh and eighth-grade
mathematics course books prepared in deference to the 2017 curriculum and distributed to schools
by MEB. This study utilized the descriptive document analysis which is a qualitative research
method. Readability of the mathematics course books were subjected to a quantitative analysis by
Çetinkaya-Uzun Readability Formula. Addressing the readability levels of the texts in secondary
mathematics course books, this study performed analyses of average word and average sentence
lengths of the texts in secondary school course books. These analyses showed that there is no
linear correlation between grade level and word and sentence length averages. Readability scores
and levels of the text in the analyzed secondary school mathematics course books are not in
parallel with the grade level. Accordingly, readability scores of information and solution texts in
the fifth-grade course book were lower than the scores in other grades' course books whereas
readability scores of question texts were lower than the scores in all grades' course books but the
eighth-grade course book. Readability levels of the text in the analyzed secondary school
mathematics course book were found to be on frustration level and educational level. Course
books should also include independent texts with readability scores and level
Simulation modeling and analysis of border security system
Cataloged from PDF version of article.Border control is vital to the security of the nation and its citizens. Hence, states all
around the world look at measures to increase the security of their borders. On the other
hand, increasing border security also brings significant financial costs.
In this study, the performance of a Border Company is analyzed by simulation
modeling of the operational activities of a Border Company supported by Border Battalion.
Our main objective is to find out more efficient ways of increasing border control and
security along the land borders of Turkey. To achieve this objective, we examine the border
security system structure and its components, observe the relationships between
performance measures, and find out effects of security elements on the system performance
measures. We also investigate system responses when changes implemented in the system
or new resources added, evaluate different alternatives that improve the performance
measures by using ranking/selection and multi-criteria decision-making procedures. The
model is developed by using ARENA simulation system and the results are analyzed by
using SPSS statistical package program. A comprehensive bibliography is also provided in

Rational Points in Geometric Progression on the Unit Circle
A sequence of rational points on an algebraic planar curve is said to form an
-geometric progression sequence if either the abscissae or the ordinates of
these points form a geometric progression sequence with ratio . In this
work, we prove the existence of infinitely many rational numbers such that
for each there exist infinitely many -geometric progression sequences on
the unit circle of length at least .Comment: 7 pages, accepted for publication in Publicationes Mathematicae

Rational sequences on different models of elliptic curves
Given a set S of elements in a number field k, we discuss the existence of planar algebraic curves over k which possess rational points whose x-coordinates are exactly the elements of S. If the size |S| of S is either 4,5, or 6, we exhibit infinite families of (twisted) Edwards curves and (general) Huff curves for which the elements of S are realized as the x-coordinates of rational points on these curves. This generalizes earlier work on progressions of certain types on some algebraic curves
