INTRODUCTION: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways in which many cells and cellular elements play a role. In susceptible individuals, inflammation causes recurrent episodes of wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness and cough partially at night and early morning. These episodes are usually associated with wide spread but variable out flow obstruction that is often reversible either spontaneously or with treatment. OBJECTIVE: To examine the effectiveness of PNF along with conventional therapy in improving Lung function in Bronchial asthma. PARTICIPANTS: 40 subjects with chronic asthma were selected. They were divided into control group and experimental group with 20 patients each. OUTCOME MEASURE: The outcome measurement is done by peak expiratory flow meter (PEFM) and Borg dyspnea scale (MRC) and inch tape. RESULT: Both groups showed significant improvement in lung function after the therapy program .The experimental group showed a statistically significant improvement in pulmonary function when compared to the control group at 5 % level of significance. CONCLUSION: Treatment with PNF along with conventional physiotherapy showed a significant improvement in Thoracic expansion, PEFR and dyspnea than control group. A well designed trial is needed to study the effectiveness of PNF in improving lung function in a large group and to know its long term effect

AbstractThis study purposes to determine relation between the level of loneliness of the students who have been attended at four state high schools and the various variables such as school, sex, accommodation types and academic achievement. The sample of study is assigned through random sampling. For this, the sample of this study was composed with a hundred thirty-one female and one hundred thirty-six male students from four high schools in Erzurum. The sixty-five students from a high school, the seventy-two students from B high school, sixty students from C high school, sixty-eight students from D high school are randomly determined. Besides, the students who are written the composition with emotion of loneliness are sixty students at total. Thus, three hundred and twenty-five students compose the sample that accepted to attend. In this study, UCLA loneliness scale (University of California Los Angeles Loneliness Scale) and a short information form prepared by the researchers are used as data collection tool. The information relating school, sex, accommodation types and the average of period is wanted from the students at the form of information. The data obtained from loneliness scale (UCLA) is analyzed by using SPSS considering above variables. The compositions written by students are qualitatively evaluated by the researchers. According to finding of this study, a significant relation is found between the loneliness and sex at 0.05 significant levels. The levels of loneliness of girls are too many from the man (XF=22.27 and XM=20.88). Between accommodation types with the emotion of loneliness of the high school is found not to be significant relation. Furthermore, between the academic achievements with the emotion of loneliness of the high school is determined not to be an expressive relation

Publisher Copyright: © 2021, The Author(s).Nickel–iron-layered double hydroxide (NiFe LDH) platelets with high morphological regularity and submicrometre lateral dimensions were synthesized using a homogeneous precipitation technique for highly efficient catalysis of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Considering edge sites are the point of activity, efforts were made to control platelet size within the synthesized dispersions. The goal is to controllably isolate and characterize size-reduced NiFe LDH particles. Synthetic approaches for size control of NiFe LDH platelets have not been transferable based on published work with other LDH materials and for that reason, we instead use postsynthetic treatment techniques to improve edge-site density. In the end, size-reduced NiFe LDH/single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) composites allowed to further reduce the OER overpotential to 237 ± 7 mV ( = 0.16 ± 0.01 μm, 20 wt% SWCNT), which is one of the best values reported to date. This approach as well improved the long-term activity of the catalyst in operating conditions.publishersversionpublishe

The study was conducted in nine different peach orchards in Central district, Lapseki and Bayramiç districts of Çanakkale Province. In this study, adult population change of Oriental fruit moth, (Grapholita molesta Busck, 1916, Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) was determined with pheromone traps. At the end of the study it was observed that G. Molesta is abundant in all sampling orchards in both two years. Even though adult emergence changes at different years, it was started at mid April and continued until the end of November. Four-five flight periods were determined at the months of April, June, July, August and October throughout the season. When adult population development curves were examined, it was determined that the pest could generate four-five generation per year related to daily temperature values of early spring. It was concluded that late cultivars would be more affected because of the high amounts of adults in August and September
