A Learning Model for Children Aged 10-12 Years in Pencak Silat
Objective. The objective of this study is to develop a new product for the martial sport of pencak silat that can be used by elementary school students during the learning process. This product will focus on paired inclusive learning for the straight kicks in pencak silat. The reason for this research is that many elementary school students struggle with straight kicks. This struggle starts from their initial attitude towards the technique and continues through the implementation and final attitude stages. These difficulties make the learning process boring for students and often result in an inability to properly focus on the technique, leading to poor form and unachieved learning objectives.
Materials and methods. The study employs a combination of research and development methods aimed at creating a learning model product. This product will likely be the outcome of a rigorous process that involves research, experimentation, and testing to ensure that it meets the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. The learning model product could potentially be used to improve educational outcomes, enhance training programs, or facilitate knowledge transfer in various contexts.
Results. Following validation by three experts, including lecturers specializing in pencak silat, learning, and PJOK, a comprehensive set of 14 models has been developed to enhance the learning of straight kick techniques. The models incorporate 5 initial stance models, 8 implementation stance models, and 1 final stance model. This research has culminated in the creation of a model book and learning video designed for children aged 10-12 years who are practicing pencak silat.
Conclusion. After conducting a thorough validation process involving pencak silat expert lecturers, learning expert lecturers, and elementary school teachers, it has been determined that the pencak silat straight kick learning model is highly appropriate for children aged 10-12 years. The results indicate that this learning model can be effectively used as teaching material for straight kick training and can be easily understood and studied by students.Objective. The background of this research is because some elementary school students find it difficult to do straight kicks. Starting from the initial attitude, implementation attitude to the final attitude. With these difficulties it makes students feel bored during the learning process, it seems that students are not focused on doing kick techniques that are not optimal, so that the shape of the kick is not formed properly and the learning objectives are not achieved properly. Researchers made the development of paired inclusion learning on straight kicks of pencak silat for elementary school students. The aim is to create a new product in the martial arts sport of pencak silat which can be appropriate for use by elementary school students in the learning process, namely the development of paired inclusion learning on straight kicks of pencak silat for elementary students. This study uses research and development (research and development) which will produce a learning model product. After being validated by three experts, namely pencak silat expert lecturers, learning expert lecturers and PPLPD pencak silat trainers in Kab. Lebak as well as a PJOK teacher produced 14 models of developing straight kick learning, namely 5 initial attitude models, 8 implementation attitude models and 1 final attitude model

South African Menopause Society revised consensus position statement on menopausal hormone therapy
The South African Menopause Society (SAMS) consensus position statement on menopausal hormone therapy (HT) 2014 is a revision of the SAMS Council consensus statement on menopausal HT published in the SAMJ in May 2007. Information presented in the previous statement has been re-evaluated and new evidence has been incorporated. While the recommendations pertaining to HT remain similar to those in the previous statement, the 2014 revision includes a wider range of clinical benefits for HT, the inclusion of non-hormonal alternatives such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and serotonin noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors for the management of vasomotor symptoms, and an appraisal of bioidentical hormones and complementary medicines used for treatment of menopausal symptoms. New preparations that are likely to be more commonly used in the future are also mentioned. The revised statement emphasises that commencing HT during the 'therapeutic window of opportunity' maximises the benefit-to-risk profile of therapy in symptomatic menopausal women
