Preserving the semantic structure of Islamic key terms and concepts: Izutsu, al-Attas, and al-Raghib al-Isfahani

This article compares the elucidation of the semantic structure and fixity of a number of key terms and concepts of the Qur'an by two contemporary scholars, Toshihiko Izutsu (1914-1993) and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas (1931--), with that of al-Raghib al-Isfahani (d. ca 443/1060), the author of the celebrated Kitab al-mufradat fi gharib al-Qur'an. By 'key terms and concepts' are meant those words used by the Qur'an which play a decisive role in making up the basic conceptual structure of the Qur'anic worldview. The article shows how the Qur'an profoundly changed and subsequently fixed the meaning of Arabic terms, particularly those key terms relating to religion and ethics, and it highlights the fact that the contemporary semantic analysis of the Qur'anic vocabulary has its precedent in the fifth/eleventh century

Divine Emanation as Cosmic Origin: Ibn Sīnā and His Critics

The question of cosmic beginning has always attracted considerable attention from serious thinkers past and present. Among many contesting theories that have emerged, that of emanation was appropriated by Muslim philosophers like Ibn Sînâ in order to reconcile the Aristotelian doctrine of the eternity of matter with the teaching of al-Qur’ân on the One Creator-God. According to this theory, the universe, which comprises a multitude of entities, is generated from a transcendent Being, the One, that is unitary, through the medium of a hierarchy of immaterial substances. While the ultimate source is undiminished, the beings which are emanated are progressively less perfect as they are further removed from the first principle. The process is conceived as being atemporal and often compared to the efflux of light from a luminous body, or to water flowing from a spring. This metaphysical theory has enabled Ibn Sînâ to solve the vexed problem: given an eternally existing world and one eternally existing God, how can the two necessarily co-exist without having the perfect, simple unity of God destroyed by contact with the multiplicity of material things? MODEL KOLABORATIF BIMBINGAN KARIR UNIVERSITAS MALIKUSSALEH DALAM MENINGKATKAN SOFTSKILL, BAHASA, KARAKTER DAN PENAMPILAN DIRI MAHASISWA

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kecenderungan trascer stuy yang dilakukan oleh Central Development Center (CDC) tahun 2018. Berdasarkan tracer study teresbut menunjukkan bahwa   kekurangan alumni yang memperoleh pekerjaan artinya kurangnya pengguna/user memakai alumni Unimal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan dipelukan kompetisi global yang membutuhkan mental dan skill yang memiliki keunggulan untuk mahasiswa agar mampu bersaing. Strategi mempersiapkan skill melalui pengelolaan perilaku yang baik, menaikan kompetensi diri dan memiliki semangat literasi melalui dengan jalur pendidikan dan konsep diri melalui pengalaman bekerjasama lintas generasi/lintas disiplin ilmu.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah terbentuknya model bimbingan karir kolaboratif untuk memantapkan kematangan karir mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan : (1) Gambaran Kematangan Karir mahasiswa Unimal setelah diberikan bimbingan karir kolaboratif, berada pada kategori matang; (2) Efektivitas bimbingan karir kolaboatif untuk memantapkan kematangan karir mahasiswa, (3) Model bimbingan karir kolaboatif untuk memantapkan kematangan karir mahasiswa. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah kematangan karir mahasiswa berada pada kategori matang, berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat dirumuskan model layanan bimbingan karir kolaboratif untuk memantapkan kematangan karir mahasiswa

ALIH KODE DAN CAMPUR KODE INTERAKSI GURU DAN SISWA DI SMK NEGERI 1 PALU

This research is titled: ‘’Code Switching and Code Mixing Teacher and Students Interaction at SMK Negeri 1 Palu’’. The objectives of this study are  (1) to describe the form of code switching and code mixing in teacher and student interactions at SMK Negeri 1 Palu, (2) to know function of code switching and code mixing, (3) to describe the factors that influence code switching and code mixing in teacher and student interactions during the learning process teach in the class. This research was conducted at  SMK Negeri 1 Palu with the research subject being an English teacher. The research is focused on the phenomenon of code switching and code mixing in the interaction of teachers with students during teaching and learning in the classroom and the factors that influence them. The results of the study show that: (1) the form of teacher code switching consists of two parts, namely the language used in communication consists of formal and informal. In addition, the relationship between languages is in the form of code switching form English-Indonesian and Indonesian-English, (2) the functions code switching and code mixing in interaction teacher with students, (3) The factors that influence code switching and code mixing are the realitonship between the speaker and the speech partner, the change in the situasion from formal to informal or vice versa, and changes in the topic of conversatio

The Application of AHP Model to Guide Decision Makers: A Case Study of E-banking Security

Changes in technology have resulted in new ways for bankers to deliver their services to costumers. Electronic banking systems in various forms are the evidence of such advancement. However, information security threats also evolving along this trend. This paper proposes the application of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology to guide decision makers in banking industries to deal with information security policy. The model is structured according aspects of information security policy in conjunction with information security elements. We found that cultural aspect is valued on the top priority among other security aspects, while confidentiality is considered as the most important factor in terms of information security elements.Comment: 5 page

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kehadiran covid 19 yang menyebabkan terjadi penurunan aktivitas ekonomi yang diduga dapat berdampak negatif terhadap pajak hotel dan restoran di Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak covid 19 terhadap target dan realisasi penerimaan pajak hotel dan restoran di Kota Makassar. Metode pengumpulan data adalah dokumentasi, studi pustaka dan pengamatan langsung. Metode analisis adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif.
