Belle II Technical Design Report
The Belle detector at the KEKB electron-positron collider has collected
almost 1 billion Y(4S) events in its decade of operation. Super-KEKB, an
upgrade of KEKB is under construction, to increase the luminosity by two orders
of magnitude during a three-year shutdown, with an ultimate goal of 8E35 /cm^2
/s luminosity. To exploit the increased luminosity, an upgrade of the Belle
detector has been proposed. A new international collaboration Belle-II, is
being formed. The Technical Design Report presents physics motivation, basic
methods of the accelerator upgrade, as well as key improvements of the
detector.Comment: Edited by: Z. Dole\v{z}al and S. Un
OSO-7 Orbiting Solar Observatory program
The seventh Orbiting Solar Observatory (OSO-7) in the continuing series designed to gather solar and celestial data that cannot be obtained from the earth's surface is described. OSO-7 was launched September 29, 1971. It has been highly successful in returning scientific data giving new and important information about solar flare development, coronal temperature variations, streamer dynamics of plasma flow, and solar nuclear processes. OSO-7 is expected to have sufficient lifetime to permit data comparisons with the Skylab A mission during 1973. The OSO-7 is a second generation observatory. It is about twice as large and heavy as its predecessors, giving it considerably greater capability for scientific measurements. This report reviews mission objectives, flight history, and scientific experiments; describes the observatory; briefly compares OSO-7 with the first six OSO's; and summarizes the performance of OSO-7

Software Verification for Programmable Logic Controllers
Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) occupy a big share in automation control. Their programming languages are, however, born out of historical needs and do not comply to state-of-the art programming concepts. Moreover, programming is mostly undertaken by the designers of the control systems. In sum this adds to the creation of erroneous software and, even more, unsafe control systems. In this work we focus on the software verification aspects for PLCs. For two selected programming languages, Sequential Function Charts (SFC) and Instruction List (IL) we discuss semantic issues as well as verification approaches. For SFCs we develop a model checking framework while for IL we suggest static analysis techniques, i.e., a combination of data flow analysis and abstract interpretation. Several case studies corrobate our approach

A study of multiplex data bus techniques for the space shuttle
A comprehensive technology base for the design of a multiplexed data bus subsystem is provided. Extensive analyses, both analytical and empirical, were performed. Subjects covered are classified under the following headings: requirements identification and analysis; transmission media studies; signal design and detection studies; synchronization, timing, and control studies; user-subsystem interface studies; operational reliability analyses; design of candidate data bus configurations; and evaluation of candidate data bus designs
