The Roles of Dynamic Capabilities and Supply Chain Resilience in Enabling Supply Chain Performance with Disruption Considerations

    Get PDF
long with the globalization and the multi-level complication of a supply chain (SC), the possibility and frequency of SC disruption occurring increase in the volatile environment, which badly affect SC performance (SCP). After literature review, we find that dynamic capability (DC) and SC resilience (SCREC) seem to be the solutions for enabling SCP with disruption considerations. In this research, we will examine DC as antecedents, SCRES as mediator, SCP with disruption considerations as dependent variableto fill the research gap regarding the relationships among the three, and to help a firm find out which DCs are needed for enabling SCP with disruption considerations

This paper focuses on exploring the mediation role of supply chain responsiveness, supply chain agility, and supply chain performance link through a multi-disciplinary review of the relevant research. The systematic literature review aims to provide the basis for formulating a conceptual framework of the relationships. A systematic comprehensive review of the literature on supply chain agility, supply chain responsiveness, and supply chain performance was conducted. The dynamic capabilities perspective literature was also examined to identify the theoretical basis for the contribution of supply chain agility in improving supply chain performance by reconfiguring supply chain responsiveness. The supply chain agility has been mainly explored in the literature with emphasis on the dimensions of the concept. The role of the supply chain agility, as a dynamic capability, in the reconfiguration of the supply chain responsiveness is seen in its quality of operational capability and, consequently, in the improvement of the performance of the supply chain in general

This paper aims to present the quality and its direct influence on important characteristics that dominate the Design of the Supply Network, demonstrating the main aspects involved and the strategy developed to achieve a better performance.  The study is based on a literature review and the main objective of this systematic review of the literature was to identify and classify all previous studies that examined some aspect of network analysis in the context of the supply chain since so far. It provides a detailed description of the most of the subject and contributes with a set of findings that capture the current state of art of the topic. Quality in the supply chain is a new subject and little studied, but it is observed that its influence is present in all sectors of the economy. The classification of Supply Chains has been highlighted as a flow of materials and information that go from suppliers to final customers in the best possible way. With the development of a management that addresses the Supply Chain in a relevant way, the organization can achieve benefits that put it in a competitive position in the market

The data is collected from the middle managers of the mining firms in Indonesia. the authors have employed the convenient sampling. The authors have distributed in total the  320 questionnaires. The response rate of the current study is 67 percent. The influence of SC agility as a mediator has been analyzed between absorptive capacity and performance of the firm. It was found by the study that SC agility fully mediates the relation between absorptive capacity and performance of the firm. The literature on competitiveness of SC has been improved by adding empirical evidence. Moreover, there is need to leverage both absorptive capacity and SC agility to improve the performance of a firm. It has been suggested by results that superior performance could be achieved transformation of absorptive capacity through SC agility. The present study contributes to the SCM and marketing literature, concerning the roles of SCM alignment and firm’s absorptive capacity to utilize social capital for achieving supply chain resilience. Firstly, understanding means to enhance supply chain resilience via social capital, therefore, in this regard taking absorptive capacity into account is necessary. Secondly, this study highlights that SCM alignment has the power to restrict the extent that social capital supports the firm’s absorptive capacity. Thirdly, the study has examined the moderating role of supply chain agility in the relationship between the social capital and supply chain resilience. Finally, the supply chain resilience outcomes were examined. As a result, those conditions and means were also explained through which firms utilize accumulated external resources in the form of social capital and achieve supply chain resilience to enhance organizational performance.  The study has used the SEM-PLS for the analysis of the data. The response rate of the current study is 75.1 percent. The data is collected from the manufacturing firms listed in Indonesian stock exchange. The results of the study highlight that firms mostly possess valuable resources that are entrenched within inter-organizational ties, and a few such resources may remain inactive if not utilized against adversities and risks. Hence, absorptive capacity must be developed and activated by the firms to capitalize social capital in an effort to develop supply chain resilience

The study has planned to examine the impact of the supply chain business intelligence on the supply chain performance of the Indonesian firms. Additionally, the study has examined the mediating role of agile capability and supply chain capability. For data gathering, total 450 questionnaires were distributed and obtained only 325 questionnaires. During data screening process 23 questionnaires were excluded, since they were incomplete. Therefore, we obtained 67% response rate for the survey in present study. Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) is an important statistical procedure to carry out multivariate data analysis, Empirical analysis in this study supports the supply chain business intelligence competence with respect to technical, cultural and managerial competence. This indicates that it is necessary to utilize appropriate technologies and tools and have well-defined processes, although these are not sufficient conditions to develop business intelligence product efficiently and effectively, such as, relevant knowledge and information which facilitate in the decision-making functions of the supply chain. Besides, some inter- and intra-organizational culture elements also affect the business intelligence product creation. The prior research further supported the significance of knowledge/information-related competences to enhance agile performance characteristics and competitive performance of the supply chain
