Electrical Energy Steam Boiler Heat Loss Analysis in Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk, Unit of Sidoarjo
In the animal feed industry, steam is used in pellet making machines. In this process, steam from the boiler is distributed to the pellet mill through the pipe. The purpose of this study is to observe the waste of electricity costs of operating a boiler by calculating heat loss in a distribution pipe. The method of assessing heat loss is done by calculating losses caused by heat loss in the boiler distribution. Then make a calculation application model based on the data obtained. From the data analyzed, the amount of heat lost in the non-insulating distribution pipe is 0.766 kJ/s with a loss of Rp 5.628,600 operating costs per month compared to heat loss in an isolated pipe condition of 0.047 kJ/s with losses which cost slightly more than Rp 368 190 / month. This heat loss calculation process is made on an android application by entering the calculation formula on the program and the data that has been obtained
A smart distance power electronic measurement using smartphone applications
The objectives of this article were to design a low-cost three-phase AC voltage
measurement circuit and new Android smartphone application to monitor the measuring voltage from
a safe distance. The smart distance power electronic measurement (SDPEM) system was designed based
on an Arduino UNO R3 board used as a microcontroller to read and calculate the RMS values from a
three-phase AC voltage measurement circuit (line-to-line or phase voltage of grid). Following this, the
microcontroller sends the measuring data by Bluetooth to an Android smartphone application. The
Bluetooth shield V2.0 was used as a wireless communication instrument between the SDPEM and the
smartphone or tablet application. The smartphone monitoring application was a new application
designed by the open-source developed program (MIT App Inventor 2) to monitor the three-phase AC
voltage results from a safe distance. The safe distance depends on the type of Bluetooth device used.
The main advantages of the SDPEM system are low cost and safety
Measuring the Usability and Capability of App Inventor to Create Mobile Applications
MIT App Inventor is a web service that enables users with little to no previous programming experience to create mobile applications using a visual blocks language. We analyze a sample of 5,228 random projects from the corpus of 9.7 million and group projects by functionality. We then use the number of unique blocks in projects as a metric to better understand the usability and realized capability of using App Inventor to implement specific functionalities. We introduce the notion of a usability score and our results indicate that introductory tutorials heavily influence the usability of App Inventor to implement particular functionalities. Our findings suggest that the sequential nature of App Inventor’s learning resources results in users realizing only a portion of App Inventor’s capabilities and propose improvements to these learning resources that are transferable to other programming environments and tools.Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Measurement of human reaction time
This thesis is focused on the evalution of reaction time using the android application made at MIT App Inventor. The objects will be tested for visual and auditory reaction time and the results will be statistically evaluated. Testing will involve different age groups.
