The Construction of Media Reality on Judicial Mafia News (Critical Discourse Analysis Study of Bibit and Chandra Case on Bang One Show)

Purpose of the research is divided into four, which are, the curiosity on discourse that is done by Bang One Show in judicial mafia presentation, the editorial reason for choosing judicial mafia, editorial concern or market condition, considered social-culture factors. This research is using the criticism of paradigm with critical discourse analysis qualitative approach. This critical discourse analysis adopts Fairclough model. This model emphasizes on four levels, those are; text, production, consumption, and social-culture. On text level, the result of this research of Bang One Show's presentation in expressing judicial mafia, shows advocacy to Bibit and Chandra and boxes Anggodo into a corner. This becomes editorial's political attitude to take sides to Bibit and Chandra. Editorial selection on production level about judicial mafia discourse of Bibit and Chandra case, can not be separated from economical interest that is seen both from market and social interests. However, unfortunately, on production level, the social interest is inconsistently done forever, which is proved, there is not even a single program relates to the stockholder news that is assumed it has damaged public interest. On the discourse level of consumption that wins Bibit and Chandra, the editorial staff has concerned with public attention. Social-culture, as the last level in Bang One Show, concerns the social condition at that time, as judicial mafia of Bibit and Chandra case was on aired, the public opinion tended to Bibit and Chandra advocacy, and cross examination on Anggodo. From the four levels, it can be concluded that the reality or meaningful discourse, is certainly influenced by internal factors and media external

Literature and the construction of reality

In this article I consider the idea that Glasersfeld’s “radical constructivism” offers an ideal framework for putting in place such a reality of the best fit for us. Along with this, I examine also the fundamental biological and epistemological limitations that we are faced with when trying to fathom objective reality and, secondly, the inescapable gap between language – which we use as a primary cognitive tool in our attempt to comprehend the world. The paper then show that literature – especially fiction – best meets the criteria for addressing these gaps and constructing such a model of reality in line with what radical constructivism proposes

The Mystery of Capital and the Construction of Social Reality

John Searle’s The Construction of Social Reality and Hernando de Soto’s The Mystery of Capital shifted the focus of current thought on capital and economic development to the cultural and conceptual ideas that underpin market economies and that are taken for granted in developed nations. This collection of essays assembles 21 philosophers, economists, and political scientists to help readers understand these exciting new theories

Construction of N = 2 Chiral Supergravity Compatible with the Reality Condition

    Get PDF
We construct N = 2 chiral supergravity (SUGRA) which leads to Ashtekar's canonical formulation. The supersymmetry (SUSY) transformation parameters are not constrained at all and auxiliary fields are not required in contrast with the method of the two-form gravity. We also show that our formulation is compatible with the reality condition, and that its real section is reduced to the usual N = 2 SUGRA up to an imaginary boundary term.Comment: 16 pages, late

Depending on facilities and technologies available at various periods of the world history, architects used various tools like drawings, paintings, miniatures, models, computers, fine arts platforms to represent their design before and after construction. “Representation includes everything people construct to be known as a visual record or figurative manifestation of that reality. […] Within this approach, architects usually reduce the definition of representation to the creation of such visual forms as drawings or models that selectively double or imitate the physical reality of a building. I would like to move beyond this traditional view to define representation as a culture-specific and dynamic process of establishing the relationships between reality and the signs created to symbolize this reality. In this process, reality becomes thinkable, and its meanings are symbolically assigned.” (Piotrowski and Robinson 2001: 42

Parametric Surfaces for Augmented Architecture representation

Augmented Reality (AR) represents a growing communication channel, responding to the need to expand reality with additional information, offering easy and engaging access to digital data. AR for architectural representation allows a simple interaction with 3D models, facilitating spatial understanding of complex volumes and topological relationships between parts, overcoming some limitations related to Virtual Reality. In the last decade different developments in the pipeline process have seen a significant advancement in technological and algorithmic aspects, paying less attention to 3D modeling generation. For this, the article explores the construction of basic geometries for 3D model’s generation, highlighting the relationship between geometry and topology, basic for a consistent normal distribution. Moreover, a critical evaluation about corrective paths of existing 3D models is presented, analysing a complex architectural case study, the virtual model of Villa del Verginese, an emblematic example for topological emerged problems. The final aim of the paper is to refocus attention on 3D model construction, suggesting some "good practices" useful for preventing, minimizing or correcting topological problems, extending the accessibility of AR to people engaged in architectural representation

SINTESA TEORI KONSTRUKSI SOSIAL REALITAS DAN KONSTRUKSI SOSIAL MEDIA MASSA

The theory of the social construction of reality and the theory of the social construction of mass media are still partially discussed. Several previous pieces of research have not yet correlated, elaborated, or synthesized from the theoretical aspect. Even though much has been said about the social construction of reality, media consumers are heavily influenced by media "made" constructions. The research aims to synthesize the Bergerian theory of social reality construction (Berger and Luckmann) with the Bunginan theory of social reality construction (Burhan Bungin). The method used is a literature study. The results showed that the synthesis of the social construction theory of reality and the social construction of mass media reality produced a thesis understanding of an objective and subjective reality which was sufficiently understood through the social construction theory of mass media reality. This is considering the individual phenomenon which, in all durations of daily life, cannot be separated from the role of social media interaction. They externalize, objectify as well as internalize reality based on mass media references. In the hierarchy, the social construction theory of reality can be placed as a grand theory by considering genealogical aspects, while the social construction theory of mass media reality can be placed as a middle-rank theory. This is of course related to the more universal focus on social construction of reality
