An ideal model of an assistive technology assessment and delivery process
The purpose of the present work is to present some aspects of the Assistive Technology Assessment (ATA) process model compatible with the Position Paper 2012 by AAATE/EASTIN. Three aspects of the ATA process will be discussed in light of three topics of the Position Paper 2012: (i) The dimensions and the measures of the User eXperience (UX) evaluation modelled in the ATA process as a way to verify the efficient and the evidence-based practices of an AT service delivery centre; (ii) The relevance of the presence of the psychologist in the multidisciplinary team of an AT service delivery centre as necessary for a complete person-centred assistive solution empowering users to make their own choices; (iii) The new profession of the psychotechnologist, who explores users needs by seeking a proper assistive solution, leading the multidisciplinary team to observe critical issues and problems. Through the foundation of the Position Paper 2012, the 1995 HEART study, the Matching Person and Technology model, the ICF framework, and the pillars of the ATA process, this paper sets forth a concept and approach that emphasise the personal factors of the individual consumer and UX as key to positively impacting a successful outcome and AT solution
A Conceptual UX-aware Model of Requirements
User eXperience (UX) is becoming increasingly important for success of
software products. Yet, many companies still face various challenges in their
work with UX. Part of these challenges relate to inadequate knowledge and
awareness of UX and that current UX models are commonly not practical nor well
integrated into existing Software Engineering (SE) models and concepts.
Therefore, we present a conceptual UX-aware model of requirements for software
development practitioners. This layered model shows the interrelation between
UX and functional and quality requirements. The model is developed based on
current models of UX and software quality characteristics. Through the model we
highlight the main differences between various requirement types in particular
essentially subjective and accidentally subjective quality requirements. We
also present the result of an initial validation of the model through
interviews with 12 practitioners and researchers. Our results show that the
model can raise practitioners' knowledge and awareness of UX in particular in
relation to requirement and testing activities. It can also facilitate

Tanaka Theorem for Inelastic Maxwell Models
We show that the Euclidean Wasserstein distance is contractive for inelastic
homogeneous Boltzmann kinetic equations in the Maxwellian approximation and its
associated Kac-like caricature. This property is as a generalization of the
Tanaka theorem to inelastic interactions. Consequences are drawn on the
asymptotic behavior of solutions in terms only of the Euclidean Wasserstein
distance
Bridging the gap between research and agile practice: an evolutionary model
There is wide acceptance in the software engineering field that industry and research can gain significantly from each other and there have been several initiatives to encourage collaboration between the two. However there are some often-quoted challenges in this kind of collaboration. For example, that the timescales of research and practice are incompatible, that research is not seen as relevant for practice, and that research demands a different kind of rigour than practice supports. These are complex challenges that are not always easy to overcome. Since the beginning of 2013 we have been using an approach designed to address some of these challenges and to bridge the gap between research and practice, specifically in the agile software development arena. So far we have collaborated successfully with three partners and have investigated three practitioner-driven challenges with agile. The model of collaboration that we adopted has evolved with the lessons learned in the first two collaborations and been modified for the third. In this paper we introduce the collaboration model, discuss how it addresses the collaboration challenges between research and practice and how it has evolved, and describe the lessons learned from our experience
An isospectral problem for global conservative multi-peakon solutions of the Camassa-Holm equation
We introduce a generalized isospectral problem for global conservative
multi-peakon solutions of the Camassa-Holm equation. Utilizing the solution of
the indefinite moment problem given by M. G. Krein and H. Langer, we show that
the conservative Camassa-Holm equation is integrable by the inverse spectral

Effective statistical physics of Anosov systems
We present evidence indicating that Anosov systems can be endowed with a
unique physically reasonable effective temperature. Results for the two
paradigmatic Anosov systems (i.e., the cat map and the geodesic flow on a
surface of constant negative curvature) are used to justify a proposal for
extending Ruelle's thermodynamical formalism into a comprehensive theory of
statistical physics for nonequilibrium steady states satisfying the
