Development of a dc-ac power conditioner for wind generator by using neural network
This project present of development single phase DC-AC converter for wind
generator application. The mathematical model of the wind generator and Artificial
Neural Network control for DC-AC converter is derived. The controller is designed to
stabilize the output voltage of DC-AC converter. To verify the effectiveness of the
proposal controller, both simulation and experimental are developed. The simulation and
experimental result show that the amplitude of output voltage of the DC-AC converter
can be controlled

Survey of traffic control schemes and error control schemes for ATM networks
Among the techniques proposed for B-ISDN transfer mode, ATM concept is considered to be the most promising transfer technique because of its flexibility and efficiency. This paper surveys and reviews a number of topics related to ATM networks. Those topics cover congestion control, provision of multiple classes of traffic, and error control. Due to the nature of ATM networks, those issues are far more challenging than in conventional networks. Sorne of the more promising solutions to those issues are surveyed, and the corresponding results on performance are summarized. Future research problems in ATM protocol aspect are also presented
Nanomechanical single-photon routing
The merger between integrated photonics and quantum optics promises new
opportunities within photonic quantum technology with the very significant
progress on excellent photon-emitter interfaces and advanced optical circuits.
A key missing functionality is rapid circuitry reconfigurability that
ultimately does not introduce loss or emitter decoherence, and operating at a
speed matching the photon generation and quantum memory storage time of the
on-chip quantum emitter. This ambitious goal requires entirely new active
quantum-photonic devices by extending the traditional approaches to
reconfigurability. Here, by merging nano-optomechanics and deterministic
photon-emitter interfaces we demonstrate on-chip single-photon routing with low
loss, small device footprint, and an intrinsic time response approaching the
spin coherence time of solid-state quantum emitters. The device is an essential
building block for constructing advanced quantum photonic architectures
on-chip, towards, e.g., coherent multi-photon sources, deterministic
photon-photon quantum gates, quantum repeater nodes, or scalable quantum
networks.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, supplementary informatio
Near-Instantaneously Adaptive HSDPA-Style OFDM Versus MC-CDMA Transceivers for WIFI, WIMAX, and Next-Generation Cellular Systems
Burts-by-burst (BbB) adaptive high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) style multicarrier systems are reviewed, identifying their most critical design aspects. These systems exhibit numerous attractive features, rendering them eminently eligible for employment in next-generation wireless systems. It is argued that BbB-adaptive or symbol-by-symbol adaptive orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) modems counteract the near instantaneous channel quality variations and hence attain an increased throughput or robustness in comparison to their fixed-mode counterparts. Although they act quite differently, various diversity techniques, such as Rake receivers and space-time block coding (STBC) are also capable of mitigating the channel quality variations in their effort to reduce the bit error ratio (BER), provided that the individual antenna elements experience independent fading. By contrast, in the presence of correlated fading imposed by shadowing or time-variant multiuser interference, the benefits of space-time coding erode and it is unrealistic to expect that a fixed-mode space-time coded system remains capable of maintaining a near-constant BER

Survey of congestion control techniques for an ATM network
The emerging broadband integrated services digital network is expected to adopt ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) as the transport network. This new network must support several classes of service with varying delay and loss requirements. It must also operate with link speeds in the hundreds of megabits per second and be scalable up to potential link speeds on the order of gigabits per second. The requirements to support multiple services and high speed make the congestion control in an ATM network difficult. This paper reviews sorne of the techniques for prevention and control of congestion in an ATM network
