State of the Industry 4.0 in the Andalusian food sector

    Get PDF
The food industry is a key issue in the economic structure of Andalusia, due to both the weight and position of this industry in the economy and its advantages and potentials. The term Industry 4.0 carries many meanings. It seeks to describe the intelligent factory, with all the processes interconnected by Internet of things (IOT). Early advances in this field have involved the incorporation of greater flexibility and individualization of the manufacturing processes. The implementation of the framework proposed by Industry 4.0. is a need for the industry in general, and for Andalusian food industry in particular, and should be seen as a great opportunity of progress for the sector. It is expected that, along with others, the food and beverage industry will be pioneer in the adoption of flexible and individualized manufacturing processes. This work constitutes the state of the art, through bibliographic review, of the application of the proposed paradigm by the Industry 4.0. to the food industry.Telefónica, through the “Cátedra de Telefónica Inteligencia en la Red”Paloma Luna Garrid

This research project analyses the impact of the use of prototyping and digital manufacturing tools in the development of new products based on the theme of Gonçalo's basketwork, in Guarda, Portugal [1]. Guarda Ninhos is an inclusive entrepreneurship project, the aim of which was to develop, produce and promote new local handicraft products. Solutions based on the socio-cultural, ecological and economic heritage of this region, knowledge immaterial heritage and expertise of their communities. Reinventing the culture of this place as a way of creating social and economic value, with the people who live there, was the followed line of action. Based on the results obtained, an attempt was made to outline forms of cooperation between this type of artisanal activities, with the most recent concepts of "industry 4.0" and industrial development methodologies - namely, (A) verifying the beneficial impact that the use of prototyping and digital fabrication tools can play in the design process of these products, optimising the development and production processes without jeopardising the premises that define the artisanal product; (B) contributing to the registration of ancestral knowledge and consolidation of artisanal processes and (C) showing how a strategic plan that aims to bring together and sustain the interdisciplinary artisan-designer relationship can be implemented.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

This study is entitled Organizing Knowledge in Implementation of Knowledge Management. The research was conducted in bussines organization. The research objectives are to find out new concept in coverage of knowledge by knowledge management implementation at Telkom organizing explicit knowledge ; to analysis personal characteristic knowledge manager. This research use by qualitative methode with case study approach at Telkom Japati 1st street Bandung. Technique of gathering data uses observation, archived record, interview, documentation dan physical ware. From the results of studies that have been done, so the conclusion can be drawn as follows: Knowledge management which is done by making taxonomy based processes and business operations is called as knowledge centers that are stored on the intranet while competency-based stream called virtual competency center. Organizing knowledge in virtual storage by creating taxonomy of knowledge toward process and operating bussines, tree types of knowledge are:Structure knowledge: unstructure knowledge and less structure knowledge. For other media are managed by a special unit that is the library. The technology media support information and communications intended to improve information transfer and sharing of knowledge organization as a whole through cooperation and communication between individuals. Recomendation: It is better to make guidelines of writing articles on KM Tool, in order to avoid a flood of information that is not need. For example the text have been made by others. .It is better also to make the theme of writing, so that the contributors will more focus in creating the knowledge. Therefore, it will give deep exploration a theme. Form of virtual communication in KM should also explore the tacit knowledge. It is appropriate if the contributors are also allowed to create works that are audio-visual format. For example how to use technology in the 3.5 G DAT file format, or how to assemble the satellite Telkom2. The programs Horizon 2020 and the set of internationally proposed research areas regarding the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Industry 4.0 reflect the interest and need to extend the scope of design, simulation, optimization, as well as the execution and management of manufacturing sectors in production systems from the point of view of digitalization and automation to achieve the objectives of sustainability: (1) controlling and preventing pollution; (2) reducing the impact as well as environmental and social damage; and (3) assuring technical, economic and quality viability of the results. The proposal of new organizational forms (including fractal organization), as well as new digitalized manufacturing environments with new connected technologies (digital and technological facilitators) are opportunities for R+D+I activities in the knowledge area of manufacturing in all industrial sectors, including the aeronautical industry.Plan Propio de la Universidad de Sevilla Proyecto: 2017/0000096

This chapter focuses on the vision of one of the biggest changes that will mark our way to live: Industries 4.0. Our intention is to discuss its basics, the automation and improvements on the processes, the way to transform an small and medium enterprises (SMEs) into an Industry 4.0, some of the economic and educational aspects, return of the investment, etc. This topic is very extensive; nevertheless, our purpose is to give a current vision of the industry and also show the Industry 4.0’s future trends. Furthermore, this chapter presents the process to migrate to Industry 4.0 until reaching to Society 5.0 and, in turn, includes a future version of Industry 5.0 that is expected to begin in 2020

AbstractThis paper introduces the concept of Business Value of Learning Technology and presents an approach how to measure the Business Value of Learning Technology in Higher Education setting based on a case study in Computational Science and cognate areas. Computational Science subject area is used as a pilot for the studies described in this paper since it is a multidisciplinary area, attracting students from diverse backgrounds and Computational Science is both the natural environment to promote collaborative teaching methods and collaborative provision of courses and as such requires more streamlined management processes. The paper, based on the above case study, presents the motivators and hygiene factors for Learning Technology Implementation in Higher Education setting. Finally, the Intersecting Influences Model presents the influences of pedagogy, technology and management over the motivation and hygiene factors, together with the corresponding generalization for PG level HE setting
