Answer Sequence Learning with Neural Networks for Answer Selection in Community Question Answering
In this paper, the answer selection problem in community question answering
(CQA) is regarded as an answer sequence labeling task, and a novel approach is
proposed based on the recurrent architecture for this problem. Our approach
applies convolution neural networks (CNNs) to learning the joint representation
of question-answer pair firstly, and then uses the joint representation as
input of the long short-term memory (LSTM) to learn the answer sequence of a
question for labeling the matching quality of each answer. Experiments
conducted on the SemEval 2015 CQA dataset shows the effectiveness of our
approach.Comment: 6 page
Preventive Potential of a City Territorial Community Concerning Social Orphanhood Prevention
In the article the author reveals such concepts as “territorial community of a city”, “preventive potential”, “social capital”, “resourceful environment of a territorial community” in the context of social orphanhood prevention. Also in the research is presented author\u27s interpretation of the concept of "territorial community of a city" as a complex self-manageable social system of self-organizing local communities (city quarters, areas of a big city etc.), members of which are individuals, governmental and non-governmental social organizations, non-commercial social organizations, neighborhoodhood groups and other microstructures united by common interests, goals and activity for treating own needs (everyday life, habitat, leisure time, education, communication) and localizations of possible of social risks, also solving of a problems of a territory.
Characteristic features and features of effective functioning of territorial community are defined, among which are the following: presence of individual (separated members of a community) and collective subjects (network of public and governmental organizations, social groups, neighborhoodhood unions etc.), their activity and degree of involvement in solving problems, character of interaction and permanence of connections between subjects (network of social interaction), availability of necessary resources of territorial community (as institutional, human, spiritual, time, material, administrative ones), territorial-cultural specificity of a community.
In the article the author defines subjects of a community, which have preventive potential (resource) concerning social orphanhod prevention in a territorial community of a city. The author also justifies the importance of creation of a resourceful environment of a territorial community of a city for prevention of family discomfort and neglection as well as homelessness of children, defines techniques of active involvement of community residents into solving of social problems including social orphanhood. Author also reveals forms and methods of activation of a community for social orphanhood prevention
The Size Conundrum: Why Online Knowledge Markets Can Fail at Scale
In this paper, we interpret the community question answering websites on the
StackExchange platform as knowledge markets, and analyze how and why these
markets can fail at scale. A knowledge market framing allows site operators to
reason about market failures, and to design policies to prevent them. Our goal
is to provide insights on large-scale knowledge market failures through an
interpretable model. We explore a set of interpretable economic production
models on a large empirical dataset to analyze the dynamics of content
generation in knowledge markets. Amongst these, the Cobb-Douglas model best
explains empirical data and provides an intuitive explanation for content
generation through concepts of elasticity and diminishing returns. Content
generation depends on user participation and also on how specific types of
content (e.g. answers) depends on other types (e.g. questions). We show that
these factors of content generation have constant elasticity---a percentage
increase in any of the inputs leads to a constant percentage increase in the
output. Furthermore, markets exhibit diminishing returns---the marginal output
decreases as the input is incrementally increased. Knowledge markets also vary
on their returns to scale---the increase in output resulting from a
proportionate increase in all inputs. Importantly, many knowledge markets
exhibit diseconomies of scale---measures of market health (e.g., the percentage
of questions with an accepted answer) decrease as a function of number of
participants. The implications of our work are two-fold: site operators ought
to design incentives as a function of system size (number of participants); the
market lens should shed insight into complex dependencies amongst different
content types and participant actions in general social networks.Comment: The 27th International Conference on World Wide Web (WWW), 201
The Best Answers? Think Twice: Online Detection of Commercial Campaigns in the CQA Forums
In an emerging trend, more and more Internet users search for information
from Community Question and Answer (CQA) websites, as interactive communication
in such websites provides users with a rare feeling of trust. More often than
not, end users look for instant help when they browse the CQA websites for the
best answers. Hence, it is imperative that they should be warned of any
potential commercial campaigns hidden behind the answers. However, existing
research focuses more on the quality of answers and does not meet the above
need. In this paper, we develop a system that automatically analyzes the hidden
patterns of commercial spam and raises alarms instantaneously to end users
whenever a potential commercial campaign is detected. Our detection method
integrates semantic analysis and posters' track records and utilizes the
special features of CQA websites largely different from those in other types of
forums such as microblogs or news reports. Our system is adaptive and
accommodates new evidence uncovered by the detection algorithms over time.
Validated with real-world trace data from a popular Chinese CQA website over a
period of three months, our system shows great potential towards adaptive
online detection of CQA spams.Comment: 9 pages, 10 figure
Ethnic and Confessional Relations in Cross-Border Regions: A Comparative Analysis Based on Sociological Research
The study deals with the issues of confessional issues (religiosity), freedom of conscience, state-church relations, interethnic relations, cultural identity, and language use in cross-border regions of Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to find common features in the relations between different nationalities and representatives of the multi-confessional environment of the two cross-border regions of Ukraine and to identify the specifics of each of them in solving the most important life problems of inter-ethnic and inter-confessional relations. The method of sociological research is a survey that contains 44 questions of mixed type. The research was carried out by the Center for Sociological Research of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. The principle of research is random selection of respondents according to social-age groups. About 1,500 respondents were interviewed. The data analysis method is SPSS electronic system (Statistical Package for the Social Science). The results of the comparative analysis were obtained
