Construction of optimal multi-level supersaturated designs
A supersaturated design is a design whose run size is not large enough for
estimating all the main effects. The goodness of multi-level supersaturated
designs can be judged by the generalized minimum aberration criterion proposed
by Xu and Wu [Ann. Statist. 29 (2001) 1066--1077]. A new lower bound is derived
and general construction methods are proposed for multi-level supersaturated
designs. Inspired by the Addelman--Kempthorne construction of orthogonal
arrays, several classes of optimal multi-level supersaturated designs are given
in explicit form: Columns are labeled with linear or quadratic polynomials and
rows are points over a finite field. Additive characters are used to study the
properties of resulting designs. Some small optimal supersaturated designs of

Seismic Waveguide of Metamaterials
We have developed a new method of an earthquake-resistant design to support
conventional aseismic designs using acoustic metamaterials. We suggest a simple
and practical method to reduce the amplitude of a seismic wave exponentially.
Our device is an attenuator of a seismic wave. Constructing a cylindrical
shell-type waveguide that creates a stop-band for the seismic wave, we convert
the wave into an evanescent wave for some frequency range without touching the

Also some previously undecided cases of amicable pairs are demonstrated to be non-existent after a complete search of the equivalence classes for orthogonal designs
Enumeration of all simple t-(t+7,t+1,2) designs
We enumerate by computer algorithms all simple t (t +7, t +1, 2) designs for 1 \u3c= t \u3c= 5, i.e. for all possible t , and this enumeration is new for t \u3e= 3. The number of nonisomorphic designs is equal to 3, 13, 27, 1 and 1 for t = 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, respectively. We also present some properties of these designs including orders of their full automorphism groups and resolvability

An extension of the Rescorla and Wagner Simulator for context conditioning
This paper introduces R&W Simulator version 4, which extends previous work by incorporating context simulation within standard Pavlovian designs. This addition allows the assessment of: (1) context–stimulus competition, by treating contextual cues as ordinary background stimuli present throughout the whole experimental session; (2) summation, by computing compound stimuli with contextual cues as an integrating feature, with and without the addition of specific configural cues; and (3) contingency effects in causal learning. These new functionalities broaden the range of experimental designs that the simulator is able to replicate, such as some recovery from extinction phenomena (e.g., renewal effects). In addition, the new version permits specifying probe trials among standard trials and extracting their values
