    The Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act of 1996 (FAIR Act) introduces several significant changes to farm commodity legislation. While these changes impact all program commodities, they have prompted considerable concern for the future of the Texas cotton industry. Changes in the farm program have prompted many landowners and tenants to evaluate their current rental arrangements and determine if changes are required. In response to considerable ensuing questions regarding the land rental market, a Lotus 1-2-3 template was developed to aid parties in determining an equitable lease. This Lotus template allows users to specify enterprise budget information for rice farm operations and then evaluates the expected returns to producers and landowners under various lease scenarios. The landowners' results are compared with the returns from 100% of the market transition payments and user-specified net returns for an alternative enterprise to calculate the net advantage to landowners for producing rice under the budgeted scenario over the life of the FAIR Act.     AirShow 1.0 CFD Software Users' Guide

    AirShow is visualization post-processing software for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Upon reading binary PLOT3D grid and solution files into AirShow, the engineer can quickly see how hundreds of complex 3-D structured blocks are arranged and numbered. Additionally, chosen grid planes can be displayed and colored according to various aerodynamic flow quantities such as Mach number and pressure. The user may interactively rotate and translate the graphical objects using the mouse. The software source code was written in cross-platform Java, C++, and OpenGL, and runs on Unix, Linux, and Windows. The graphical user interface (GUI) was written using Java Swing. Java also provides multiple synchronized threads. The Java Native Interface (JNI) provides a bridge between the Java code and the C++ code where the PLOT3D files are read, the OpenGL graphics are rendered, and numerical calculations are performed.     Influence of Software Updates on Hedonic Software Users

    Lately, a more and more frequently used method to enhance and maintain software is through software updates. These updates are distributed over the Internet in order to fix bugs, improve base-software, or add new functionalities. This research paper extends theory in the IS topic of post-adoption and examines the effect of software updates on the individual hedonic software user. We develop a digital game and use it in a web-based experiment with 225 participants who are randomly assigned to three distinct groups. We adapt the IS continuance model and assess the effects of a functional software update and a placebo update notification through inter group comparisons. Our study unveils that while a functional software update leads to an increase in perceived enjoyment, satisfaction, continuance intention, and disconfirmation, albeit the placebo update notification does not. Finally, implications for research and practice are discussed

    What are the critical value attributes sought by software users?

    Using a grounded theory approach, our study (Kakar and Kakar, 2022) identified 6 types of values derived by software users. Although the participants in the debriefing session agreed with the values sought by them in using software as well as with the items in these values, there were differences in opinion about which values were critical to them. They asked whether we could analyze the data or collect more data to objectively find out the critical values in software use. We found the request to be interesting and conducted this study to investigate. We conducted the study using the widely accepted Kano model for attribute classification. The finding show that as expected items identified under Psychological Safety (comfort value) and Quality Value were key (must-have) for software users. By finding out the critical values in software use, perhaps for the first time in literature, this study has implications for software project managers and product managers in prioritizing the valuable features they should provide in their software application or product
