Coherent Schwinger Interaction from Darboux Transformation

The exactly solvable scalar-tensor potential of the four-component Dirac equation has been obtained by the Darboux transformation method. The constructed potential has been interpreted in terms of nucleon-nucleon and Schwinger interactions of neutral particles with lattice sites during their channeling Hamiltonians of a Schwinger type is obtained by means of the Darboux transformation chain. The analitic structure of the Lyapunov function of periodic continuation for each of the Hamiltonians of the family is considered.Comment: 12 pages, Latex, six figures; six sections, one figure adde

Anomalous crossover between thermal and shot noise in macroscopic diffusive conductors

    Get PDF
We predict the existence of an anomalous crossover between thermal and shot noise in macroscopic diffusive conductors. We first show that, besides thermal noise, these systems may also exhibit shot noise due to fluctuations of the total number of carriers in the system. Then we show that at increasing currents the crossover between the two noise behaviors is anomalous, in the sense that the low frequency current spectral density displays a region with a superlinear dependence on the current up to a cubic law. The anomaly is due to the non-trivial coupling in the presence of the long range Coulomb interaction among the three time scales relevant to the phenomenon, namely, diffusion, transit and dielectric relaxation time.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure

Search for a heavy magnetic monopole at the Fermilab Tevatron and CERN LHC

If a heavy Dirac monopole exists, the light to light scattering below the monopole production threshold is enhanced due to the strong coupling of monopoles to photons. This effect could be observable in the collision of virtual photons at proton colliders. At the Tevatron it will be seen as pair production of photons with energies 200--400 GeV and roughly compensated transverse momenta 100--400 GeV/c. This effect could be seen at monopole masses about 1--2.5 TeV at the upgraded Tevatron and 7.4--19 TeV at LHC depending on monopole spin.Comment: 11 pages, 2 figures, Latex(Revtex), small changes in estimates of Sect.III and in Fig.2 due to corrected form factor scale of eq.
