Superior Performance of Fibonacci Title Translation to Global Title Translation in Database Operations of Modern GSM Network Architecture
This research investigates attributes of Fibonacci database search methodology vis-a-vis current techniques of Global Title Translation with its attendant signalling overheads, poor quality services and frequent break downs in GSM network architecture. A new search approach, Fibonacci technique is adopted. The outcome is highly significant as call-dropping is drastically reduced. Key words: Database, Fibonacci, Translation, Network, Architecture communication
Hysteretic Control Technique for Overload Problem Solution in Network of SIP Servers
This paper contains research and development results concerning application of hysteretic control principles to solve SIP servers overload problem, which is known from a number of IETF standards and scientific papers published over the past few years. The problem is that SIP protocol, being the application layer protocol, by default has no build-in means of overload control, as, for example, SS7, MTP2 and MTP3 protocols. It was the SS7 network, where a threshold mechanism of hysteretic signalling load control was first implemented. In this paper we describe the main up-to-date solutions of an overload control problem in a signalling network, and develop analytical models of hysteretic control, which are useful in the development of load management functions of SIP servers. We also propose the design of Open SIP signalling Node (OSN) software architecture which is intended to be used for simulations and comparison of various overload control mechanisms

Smart business networks: architectural aspects and risks
This paper summarizes key attributes and the uniqueness of smart business networks [1], to propose thereafter an operational implementation architecture. It involves, amongst others, the embedding of business logic specific to a network of business partners, inside the communications control networks .It also involves the definition of business protocols between these partners and the joint management of some common functions relying on open networking standards. This implies some key paradigm changes, both of a technical and of a business nature, which are offered here for discussion via a set of propositions
Fault tolerant Medical Network (MEDNET)
This investigation describes the development of a new fault tolerant Medical Network (MEDNET) model based on the existing Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and Intemetworking (Internet). This research includes the original design, development and testing of the required hardware and software interfaces to provide a complete Medical Network model. MEDNET ties the Doctor, the Patient, the Hospital, the Medical Lab, and the Pharmacy for near real time and fault tolerant exchange of medical information. The MEDNET model includes the following modules: 1 Central Database Server, 2. Remote Client Access, and 3. Communication Interface. This work proves that medical images and data can be exchanged between healthcare providers which are not geographically adjacent, in a cost effective, timely, and secure manne
