    Online Assistance

    Get PDF
From the introduction: This project entitled Online Assistance is efficient and designed to do only one thing, facilitate communications between help desk staff and end users. The overriding design goal is to be as simple and frictionless for both users and help desk staff as is possible. It can leverage SQL server for membership and role based security or integrate with windows authentication and Active Directory groups. Software Engineering occurs as a consequence of a process called “System Engineering”. Instead of concentrate solely on software, system-engineering focuses on a variety of elements like Analyzing, Designing and organizing these elements into a system. A help desk system is designed and implemented in a business setting. (Abstract provided by OPUS staff

    CodEval

Grading coding assignments call for a lot of work. There are numerous aspects of the code that need to be checked, such as compilation errors, runtime errors, the number of test cases passed or failed, and plagiarism. Automated grading tools for programming assignments can be used to help instructors and graders in evaluating the programming assignments quickly and easily. Creating the assignment on Canvas is again a time taking process and can be automated. We developed CodEval, which instantly grades the student assignment submitted on Canvas and provides feedback to the students. It also uploads, creates, and edits assignments, thereby making the whole experience streamlined and quick for instructors and students. It is simple to use, easily integrated with the learning management system, and has a low learning curve. This report shows the background, implementation, and results of using CodEval for programming courses

A Framework for Uncertain Cloud Data Security and Recovery Based on Hybrid Multi-User Medical Decision Learning Patterns

    Get PDF
Machine learning has been supporting real-time cloud based medical computing systems. However, most of the computing servers are independent of data security and recovery scheme in multiple virtual machines due to high computing cost and time. Also, this cloud based medical applications require static security parameters for cloud data security. Cloud based medical applications require multiple servers to store medical records or machine learning patterns for decision making. Due to high Uncertain computational memory and time, these cloud systems require an efficient data security framework to provide strong data access control among the multiple users. In this work, a hybrid cloud data security framework is developed to improve the data security on the large machine learning patterns in real-time cloud computing environment. This work is implemented in two phases’ i.e. data replication phase and multi-user data access security phase. Initially, machine decision patterns are replicated among the multiple servers for Uncertain data recovering phase. In the multi-access cloud data security framework, a hybrid multi-access key based data encryption and decryption model is implemented on the large machine learning medical patterns for data recovery and security process. Experimental results proved that the present two-phase data recovering, and security framework has better computational efficiency than the conventional approaches on large medical decision patterns

CL1 is a prototyping language for programming a Connection Machine. It supports a model of the Connection Machine as a collection of tiny conventional machines (process elements), each with its own independent program counter.MIT Artificial Intelligence Laborator

    A Rails / Django Comparison

    Get PDF
Ruby on Rails (Rails) is the dominant web programming framework for Ruby and, even outside the Ruby community, is considered the epitome of the latest generation of high-productivity, open source web development tools. Django is one of many competing web development frameworks for Python. It is notable, first, for being highly regarded amongst Python programmers, and second, for being one of the few of the new generation of framework that does not ape Ruby on Rails. Both Rails and Django claim greatly enhanced productivity, compared with more traditional web development frameworks. In this paper, we compare the two frameworks from the point of view of a developer attempting to choose one of the two frameworks for a new project

    Creating and Testing Simulation Software

    Get PDF
The goal of this project is to learn about the software development process, specifically the process to test and fix components of the software. The paper will cover the techniques of testing code, and the benefits of using one style of testing over another. It will also discuss the overall software design and development lifecycle, and how code testing plays an integral role in it. Coding is notorious for always needing to be debugged due to coding errors or faulty program design. Writing tests either before or during program creation that cover all aspects of the code provide a relatively easy way to locate and fix errors, which will in turn decrease the necessity to fix a program after it is released for common use. The backdrop for this paper is the Spaceport Command and Control System (SCCS) Simulation Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI), a project whose goal is to simulate a launch using simulated models of the ground systems and the connections between them and the control room. The simulations will be used for training and to ensure that all possible outcomes and complications are prepared for before the actual launch day. The code being tested is the Programmable Logic Controller Interface (PLCIF) code, the component responsible for transferring the information from the models to the model Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), basic computers that are used for very simple tasks

    A dynamic compiler for Scheme

    Get PDF
Traditionally, dynamically-typed languages have been difficult to compile efficiently. This thesis explores dynamic compilation, a recently developed technique for compiling dynamically-typed languages. A dynamic compiler compiles and optimizes programs as they execute, using information collected from the running program to perform optimizations that are impossible to perform in a conventional batch compiler. To explore these techniques we developed SKI, a dynamic compiler for Scheme. Tests on programs compiled by SKI, have shown that dynamic compilation techniques can give a substantial increase in the performance Scheme programs. In some cases they can increase performance by up to 400%

Addressing hypertext design and conversion issues

    Get PDF
Hypertext is a network of information units connected by relational links. A hypertext system is a configuration of hardware and software that presents a hypertext to users and allows them to manage and access the information that it contains. Hypertext is also a user interface concept that closely supports the ways that people use printed information. Hypertext concepts encourage modularity and the elimination of redundancy in data bases because information can be stored only once but viewed in any appropriate context. Hypertext is such a hot idea because it is an enabling technology in that workstations and personal computers finally provide enough local processing power for hypertext user interfaces
