Steganography: a class of secure and robust algorithms

This research work presents a new class of non-blind information hiding algorithms that are stego-secure and robust. They are based on some finite domains iterations having the Devaney's topological chaos property. Thanks to a complete formalization of the approach we prove security against watermark-only attacks of a large class of steganographic algorithms. Finally a complete study of robustness is given in frequency DWT and DCT domains.Comment: Published in The Computer Journal special issue about steganograph

A New Copyright Protection for Vector Map using FFT-based Watermarking

    Get PDF
This study proposed a new approach of copyright protection for vector map using robust watermarking on FFT algorithm. A copyright marker inserted in vector map as the watermark. In addition to data origin authentication capabilities watermark, RSA cryptographic algorithm is used when generating the watermark. Quality measurement of the results was based on the three characteristics of digital watermarking: (1) invisibility using RMSE calculations, (2) fidelity with the farthest distance and (3) NC calculation and gemotrical level of robustness against attacks. Result of experiments showed that the approach used in this study succeeded in inserting copyright as watermark on vector maps. Invisibility test showed good results, demonstrated by RMSE close to zero. Fidelity of the watermarked map was also maintained. Level of watermark robustness against geometric attacks on vector map results has been maintained within the limits that these attacks do not affect the watermark bit value directly

Optimal Radiometric Calibration for Camera-Display Communication

We present a novel method for communicating between a camera and display by embedding and recovering hidden and dynamic information within a displayed image. A handheld camera pointed at the display can receive not only the display image, but also the underlying message. These active scenes are fundamentally different from traditional passive scenes like QR codes because image formation is based on display emittance, not surface reflectance. Detecting and decoding the message requires careful photometric modeling for computational message recovery. Unlike standard watermarking and steganography methods that lie outside the domain of computer vision, our message recovery algorithm uses illumination to optically communicate hidden messages in real world scenes. The key innovation of our approach is an algorithm that performs simultaneous radiometric calibration and message recovery in one convex optimization problem. By modeling the photometry of the system using a camera-display transfer function (CDTF), we derive a physics-based kernel function for support vector machine classification. We demonstrate that our method of optimal online radiometric calibration (OORC) leads to an efficient and robust algorithm for computational messaging between nine commercial cameras and displays.Comment: 10 pages, Submitted to CVPR 201

Steganography: a Class of Algorithms having Secure Properties

Chaos-based approaches are frequently proposed in information hiding, but without obvious justification. Indeed, the reason why chaos is useful to tackle with discretion, robustness, or security, is rarely elucidated. This research work presents a new class of non-blind information hidingalgorithms based on some finite domains iterations that are Devaney's topologically chaotic. The approach is entirely formalized and reasons to take place into the mathematical theory of chaos are explained. Finally, stego-security and chaos security are consequently proven for a large class of algorithms.Comment: 4 pages, published in Seventh International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing, IIH-MSP 2011, Dalian, China, October 14-16, 201

A New Method For Digital Watermarking Based on Combination of DCT and PCA

In the digital watermarking with DCT method, the watermark is located within a range of DCT coefficients of the cover image. In this paper to use the low-frequency band, a new method is proposed by using a combination of the DCT and PCA transform. The proposed method is compared to other DCT methods, our method is robust and keeps the quality of cover image, also increases capacity of the watermarking.Comment: Telecommunications Forum Telfor (TELFOR), 2014 22n
