Seterusnya, melalui
pendekatan kuantitatif, data yang diperolehi melalui kaji selidik melibatkan 500
responden dan dianalisis menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for Social Science
(SPSS).

Recapturing Value Through Reverse Logistics: WÀrtsilÀ Ship Power - shopping list
Every now and then WĂ€rtsilĂ€ Ship Power faces problems with project cancellations from customer side or incorrect purchase orders. Unless capable of canceling the orders from external suppliers in time, materials are taken to warehouse and to a shopping list. From this list they can be used to a different project. Unfortunately the current process is ineffective and does not bring the savings that it could. Project execution, operative purchasing and business control all have their responsibilities but no dedicated resources appointed. Processes of reselling material back to suppliers or scrapping them donât exist at all.
Shopping list process has defects in the process itself; responsibilities and information sharing is inadequate. Internal marketing of the list is missing. Reverse logistics process in business to business relationship is shortly studied area. I reviewed business process and business process redesigning as well as reverse logistics and relocation options from the literature to get an overview of all possible options to re-create smooth and effective shopping list process. Besides the literature review, I got valuable info from my own work experience inside the supply management department.
In my case, reverse logistics process was far from the core processes within WĂ€rtsilĂ€ Ship Power. That is why I deemed it necessary to have only one person handling all operative work â the shopping list responsible. Other users of the list, both internal and external of the Ship Power department, need to be considered as customers, although they have some responsibilities in the process. Close cooperation between different functions is needed, especially with strategic purchasers who are in the best position to discuss about selling back the material to external suppliers. No process can work if it is not handled properly. Even a one person can be a good promoter.fi=OpinnĂ€ytetyö kokotekstinĂ€ PDF-muodossa.|en=Thesis fulltext in PDF format.|sv=LĂ€rdomsprov tillgĂ€ngligt som fulltext i PDF-format

E-commerce and its impact in logistic management: A state of art
Logistics management is defined as that part of the supply chain process that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services, and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption in order to meet customers' requirements. Traditional logistical issues may be amplified by an e-commerce venture. Adopting e-commerce may greatly expand the marketplace. The organization needs to be concerned with its ability to deliver its product to potential customers. Realizing the importance of E-commerce in logistic management, an attempt has been made in this paper to review the existing literature with the objective to gain insights into the impact of E-commerce in logistic management. The advantages of the E-commerce in logistic management are offered. Finally, summary of findings and calculations are presented

The advent of rapid technology development, intense business competition and changing customer needs and requirements, has forced companies to reshape their business model and strategies. Numerous new terms such as Global Supply Chain, Third Party Logistics, Green Logistics, E-Logistics and Reverse Logistics are becoming issues that have to be deal with by all companies, local, multinational and global. Lately Reverse Logistics start to get attention by most of the firms. The purpose of this assignment is to review and identifies clear definition of Reverse Logistics, comparison Reverse Logistics with Forward Logistics in order to have a better understanding and finally future direction of Reverse Logistics in gaining competitive advantages
What is a networked business?
Due to increasing competitive pressure in their market, many enterprises are implementing changes to the way they conduct business. These changes range from implementing new IT, to redesigning the structure of the organization and entering into all kinds of cooperations with other enterprises, forming what we call a ânetworked businessâ. In this paper, we try to explain the origin of the networked business from three different, but related, perspectives: resource dependence, transaction cost and IT impact. We also explore some terms that are used to describe interorganizational structures to find their principal components in an attempt to determine relationships between them and find a broad and precise, new definition of the term ânetworked businessâ
âDomain Of Supply Chain Management - A State Of Artâ.
A supply chain is a network of facilities and distribution channels that encompasses the procurement of materials, production, assembly and delivery of product or service to the customer. The management of the supply chain and the roles of various actors involved differ from industry to industry and company to company. As a result Supply Chain Management (SCM) has become a vital issue for manufacturers, professionals and researchers. It is felt that to manage the supply chain effectively entire structure of supply chain must be understood properly. This paper attempts to provide the reader a complete picture of supply chain management through a systematic literature review. It presents a state of art on SCM by systematically arranging main activities in supply chain. In addition the step-by-step approach for understanding the breadth and depth of Supply Chain is proposed which consequently explores the domain of SCM.A supply chain is a network of facilities and distribution channels that encompasses the procurement of materials, production, assembly and delivery of product or service to the customer. A framework for business process integration to achieve fulfillment excellence
Thesis (M. Eng. in Logistics)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Engineering Systems Division, 2004."June 2004."Includes bibliographical references (leaves 71-72).Process integration has become more and more important in today's world where companies' supply chains have become more complex. Companies around the world are beginning to realize the importance of integrating their supply chain business processes to achieve fulfillment excellence. Unfortunately, process integration is still somewhat a novel concept and relatively little research has been conducted in examining how companies can effectively implement successful process integration across their supply chains. To complicate matters further, many companies still confuse the concept of business process integration with that of mere data integration. The primary motivation for this research study is to provide a framework on how best to implement process integration to achieve fulfillment excellence. The methodology employed in this particular study comprises the use of two case studies with real-life companies, which provide real-world examples of how companies try to "integrate" their complex supply chain processes. A deep and thorough analysis is then conducted to identify the challenges presented by the firm's current practices from a business process integration perspective. Further analysis then provides an overall view of what is done right and what could have been improved. Last but not least, a generalized framework of best practices and a prescription of how best to implement successful process integration to achieve fulfillment excellence are presented.co-authored by Marcos Buelvas [and] Sonita Lontoh.M.Eng.in Logistic
Business integration between manufacturing and transport-logistics firms
Purpose - This paper analyses how manufacturers and transport-logistics service providers (TLSPs) work together and integrate their business processes. The information technologies used to support the integration, the processes currently integrated, and the expected future integration, are searched. Design/methodology/approach - Six in-depth case studies were conducted among leading companies in the electrical, electronics, mechanical, food processing, and transport-logistics industries. The data was collected using comprehensive semi-structured interviews. Findings - Most of the firms are coupled electronically through EDI. The current business integration practices are primarily restricted to some sub-processes in three key SC processes: Customer service management, order fulfillment and backwards logistics. In the future the manufacturers want a better integration with the TLSPs, but at the same time, manufacturers would like to have the freedom of breaking the relationship, if the party does not fulfill the requisites and expectations. The future developments associated to the "commoditization" of TLSPsâ services would reinforce this trend. Originality/value - This research has shed light on a relatively unexplored area related to the integration between manufacturers and transport-logistics firms. Our research has highlighted the complexity of the integration between the two echelons, and has helped to the identification of current areas of integration. This research has also contributed to understand how the integration occurs in real contexts, by uncovering with a high degree of detail, what manufactures do to integrate their business with the TLSPsSupply chain management; Business process integration; Information technologies (IT); Standardization; Manufacturers; Transport and Logistics Service Providers (TLSPs)
An Analysis of E-waste: When Do Electronics Die?
E-waste represents a considerable challenge in todayâs global economy. The ease of purchase and delivery via online methods, coupled with the rapid pace of technological advancement, has led to considerable e-waste. E-waste represents a different challenge for reverse logistics than just a product return. In the case of e-waste, the product has been used and is no longer wanted. Because an e-waste item is no longer wanted, the possibility of designing a product to eventually be remanufactured is an area of research that deserves investigation. The purpose of this article is to make the argument that U.S. corporations should be proactive in developing comprehensive programs to deal with e-waste. To accomplish this task, this article is divided into three sections: the growth of e-waste, relevant legislation as it pertains to e-waste, and reverse logistics and the electronic industry
