Kontrollstreifen der Flugsicherung sind 13,5 cm mal 2,5 cm groß. Sie werden 20 Minuten vor Eintritt eines Flugzeugs in einen Sektor ausgedruckt, auf eine Plastikschiene gezogen und in eine Tafel einsortiert. Der vorliegende Beitrag geht der Frage nach, welche Rolle Papierstreifen in der Praxis der Flugsicherung spielen. Diese Frage wirft eine Reihe von konzeptuellen Problemen zum Verhältnis von medialer Repräsentation und Unfällen auf, deren Bearbeitung - jenseits von mikroskopischen oder makroskopischen Auflösungen - noch weitgehend aussteht.
